I think the "Kuh-kuh-kuh" makes more sense to me, given that whenever the characters make that sound they're trying to tense up their muscles and increase them right? Well, when I try to tense up my muscles, and do the "AAAHHHHH" sound that the Funi voices do, my muscles automatically start to relax a bit. So its kind of counter productive. Whereas the "Kuh-kuh-kuh" sound doesn't relax my mucles, and it actually comes more natural...just what I think though.
That’s cause it’s more realistic. That’s much more along the lines of how most people tend to actually sound when they’re straining under a tremendous amount of physical (or sometimes even emotional) pain or stress (which I can attest from loads of personal experience).
Yeah. Thats what exactly what I was thinking.

Maybe a little unfair? I think sounds more like the characters are in pain.

I happen to think the FUNimation dub sucks.

I also happen to think that this isn't the place to discuss it.

And to get back on topic, my latest Dragonball purchase was a Kuririn figure that comes out of the bubble capsule..machine..thing down the street.

He cost two dollars, and I was disappointed that he didn't come with bubblegum.

Well said, I'm officially ending this discussion right here, thus saving the thread from the long arm of the ElawX.

It was my first time seeing to movie uncut as before I only had the edited VHS tape. I must say, I enjoyed the movie a lot better raw.

That's understandable, no one (in their right mind) would want to listen to Disturbed or any other shit-band that sounds like them while watching Dragon Ball.
I actually watched the uncut dub. And it was so weird, because I now notice that the edited dub cut out so many little bits of dialogue and shortened so many scenes for no reason at all. I used to not like movie 8 that much because it seriously made no fucking sense the way I had scene it. This time I was actually able to get all of the story and realize how long it was compared to the other films. Broly: TLSS is up there with my favorites now.
Editing the movies in the first place was pointless anyway since they were direct to video over here and DBZ isn't that bad at all for kids, even uncut, compared to other animes.

Not really a purchase...but I recently obtained a gift. It's a miniature figure set of Goku and Piccolo squaring off with each other.

I just got my kanzenban in the mail today and oh my god the black's printed so silky smooth it's gorgeous. I've gotta do a little scanning to drop a comparison in here- at least of how much more freaking gorgeous Toriyama's sharp sound effects are. The color pages are wonderful to look at, and the books just look so damn good together. Now I just need the rest....

I'm in the generation of fans that started with Toonami, so I totally empathize with the feeling of having "missed the party", experiencing disappointment, and wanting to experience it myself. But I can't, that's how life is. Time is a bitch. The party is over. Kageyama, Kikuchi, and Maeda are off the sauce now; Yanami almost OD'd; Yamamoto got arrested; Toriyama's not going to light trash cans on fire and hang from the chandelier anymore. We can't get the band back together, and even if we could, everyone's either old, in poor health, or calmed way the fuck down. Best we're going to get, and are getting, is a party that's almost entirely devoid of the magic that made the original one so awesome that we even want more.

I know. I just bought one last month at Otakon (Volume 16, containing the color portions of Goku vs Vegeta that Viz decide to withhold from us in VizBig DBZ 1), and I can't believe the beauty of it. The only things that have come even close in terms of printing and size quality are the VizBigs, aside from the missing color and editing.

I've been oogling that gashapon for months now but I can only ever find it on ebay from the same jackass who refuses to combine shipping on gashapon.

Where would be a good place to pick up individual ones besides ebay? I don't want to buy a whole set if I only want two of the figures in it, but I don't want to get scalped on shipping.
