I can only assume they chose Twenty somethings for the main parts of the movie because it will transition better into possible sequels. If they had hired an Actual 15 year old to play Goku, they would have to recast him for a sequel, or wait until he is old enough, which we all know they would never do.The Tori-bot wrote:I know, she isn't that hot (at least, not in a "hot girl in high school" way; more like a "hot 28-year-old in high school way")Chrono Trigger wrote:Heh...Of all the thing to fantasize about in the middle of class.
I predict that they'll play the theme from a summer place during that scene. o_O"

Oh I can totally see that happening. >_O Complete with a record player screech once Chatku's snapped out of his daydream.
*Does not know whether to laugh or cry*.
While Chatwin isn't nearly my ideal Goku, I think I'd rather deal with him then for them to skim the teenage-talent pool and come up with one of the Jonas Bros or something. @_@
*Points to Avatar movie, which cast Jesse McCartney as Zuko*

Well it pretty much came out that all of this was a big hoax.

I completely respect your opinion, and I respect you. I enjoyed discussing this with you, even if I don't completely agree.

I'm still debating if I want to buy the books or not. Hell, there's going to be a number of people on this forum posting up synopsis'. So I'll get a good feel of the good and the bad with the movie. I still have high hopes for Piccolo still being an accurate adaption personality wise.Super Ghost Kamikaze wrote:I have definitely gotten halfway through the checkout process something like five times. I haven't pre-ordered (because I have no credit card) but I plan to flip through it at the bookstore at the mall.Gozar wrote:I'm still debating if I want to buy the books or not. I don't want to give FOX any money towards this movie unless I'm satisfied with how they portray Goku.
At this point, I am not satisfied with him, so no dough.
I know there will most likely be a display table for these books at the store I work at (and I am dreading that display table oh-so-much) that will in all likelihood sit right outside the DVD section.
On hiatus.
I don't get why everyone has to have brown hair in this movie. Brown hair is boring. Goku, Chichi should have black hair anyway. Everything nowadays is becoming more and more homogenous. Everything has to be brown, and what's not brown is grey, and what's not grey is so dark you can't see fackin' anything.

This was pretty obvious, but the film has been rated 12A by the British Board of Certification.
If you can't see the page just Google it and it should show up, it showed up under "Dragonball-evolution.co.uk" too

I don't have the statistics or anything, but I think black hair is extremely uncommon among whites.Rena Rune wrote:I don't get why everyone has to have brown hair in this movie. Brown hair is boring. Well, at least Justin Chatwin's brown hair isn't light brown/blondish, that would have been ridiculous.

Jesus Christ, I'm watching his new episode just now, weird...rzerox21xx wrote:You think in 10 years, this movie will be reviewed by Nostaglic critic. ??
Probably not, I'm guessing he never watched Dragon Ball Z, and the Family Martial Arts movies he reviews are all the bad ones from the late '80s to early '90s.
He never watched Pokémon either though but he reviewed the first movie, so who knows, I guess we have to flood him with requests to get him to do the Saban stuff...
That doesn't matter, this isn't real life, it's a movie, and one that has a lot of asian people in it.omegacwa wrote:I don't have the statistics or anything, but I think black hair is extremely uncommon among whites.Rena Rune wrote:I don't get why everyone has to have brown hair in this movie. People need to stop bastardising their fantasies.
I just think most people don't care. The difference between Dark Brown and Black are practically negligible. If your going to let a minor detail "bastardize" the movie for you, you have a lot of problems.
You know, Akira Toriyama often drew brown shine on Vegeta's hair, if he has brown hair in the sequel, if there is one, are you going to be pissed?

No they aren't, jesus. As a conneisur of hair colour, I can tell you dark brown and black are not the same colour. Dark brown is much more washed out than black, or more red toned shades of brown. I don't really care what "Most people" think since their taste fucking sucks. But most people who do pay attention to hair colour would hold black hair in higher regard than brown.omegacwa wrote:I just think most people don't care. That's one character, and a "Brown shine" is still different from brown hair. You know, Akira Toriyama often drew brown shine on Vegeta's hair, if he has brown hair in the sequel, if there is one, are you going to be pissed?

What the fuck is a "connoisseur of hair colour"?
A rather strange thing to be a connoisseur of, if you ask me...
Back on topic, uh... brown!

Eh. Of all things that can ruin the film for me, dark brown hair VS black hair isn't something that tips the scale. At all.
I mean, I always pictured the Joker as a very "clean" looking character. That his most recent film portrayal deviates from that doesn't keep it from being an excellent movie, and it doesn't retroactively remove my preference for the character's look disappear from existence.

"All Saiyans have black hair/eyes" kind of seems to me like the kind of minutiae that really doesn't make a difference. It probably wouldn't have been too hard to keep to if they wanted, but it's not really necessary.
