Seems kinda doubtful: the vast majority of the U.S. anime market, from what I understand, appears to be moving away from singles in general with DVD releases in the past year or two. But who knows, when the cash cow's 'a moo-ing...jjgp1112 wrote:Now, I'm wondering: Will Funi release Dragon Box singles once the 7 sets are finished releasing?

I'm in the generation of fans that started with Toonami, so I totally empathize with the feeling of having "missed the party", experiencing disappointment, and wanting to experience it myself. But I can't, that's how life is. Time is a bitch. The party is over. Kageyama, Kikuchi, and Maeda are off the sauce now; Yanami almost OD'd; Yamamoto got arrested; Toriyama's not going to light trash cans on fire and hang from the chandelier anymore. We can't get the band back together, and even if we could, everyone's either old, in poor health, or calmed way the fuck down. Best we're going to get, and are getting, is a party that's almost entirely devoid of the magic that made the original one so awesome that we even want more.

Looking back at the Dragon Box, I think FUNi should've said 8 discs cause the way the Dragon Box has the discs packaged is 4 per case.Raki wrote:We don't know yet. But looking at those DVD cases leaves me wondering....they can fit more than 3 disks in there.email2003 wrote:I was looking at the Dragon Box over at Kanzentai and I was wondering if FUNimation will also include the bonus features like the Japanese commericals of DBZ games, and etc? Also, we are getting what's in the Dragon Book too right? I love the way how the episode recaps are shown in summary in these books. Also, I love the disc art too on this set.

The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.
No.
The singles were for the people who didn't pre-order the Dragon Boxes.
These aren't pre-order only. I hope...
EDIT. Damn this fast moving thread.

That's true. I don't think Funi wants our money that much.Raki wrote:Nah that would be a total waste of money.jjgp1112 wrote:Now, I'm wondering: Will Funi release Dragon Box singles once the 7 sets are finished releasing?
And damn, isn't it crazy how it took only a day for this thread to catch up to the DB Season one thread?

Nope. They are going to all major retailers. That is what I first thought when I saw the press release on ANN though.CashmanX wrote:No.

I'm just glad I won't be needing to import the Spanish DVDs for a watchable Season 1-2 now!
I was gonna make custom DVDs, but FUNimation has done all of that for me now.

Didn't the Spanish DVDs use the exact same masters as the Season sets?Metalwario64 wrote:I'm just glad I won't be needing to import the Spanish DVDs for a watchable Season 1-2 now!I was gonna make custom DVDs, but FUNimation has done all of that for me now.

I don't think so. They remastered it themselves. This is the Spain version we're talking about right?jjgp1112 wrote:Didn't the Spanish DVDs use the exact same masters as the Season sets?Metalwario64 wrote:I'm just glad I won't be needing to import the Spanish DVDs for a watchable Season 1-2 now!I was gonna make custom DVDs, but FUNimation has done all of that for me now.

You're thinking of the Funimation Spanish DVDs.jjgp1112 wrote:Didn't the Spanish DVDs use the exact same masters as the Season sets?Metalwario64 wrote:I'm just glad I won't be needing to import the Spanish DVDs for a watchable Season 1-2 now!I was gonna make custom DVDs, but FUNimation has done all of that for me now.
I think I'm confusing it with the Spanish DVDs that Funi releases themselves.email2003 wrote:I don't think so. They remastered it themselves. Oh wait, your right. It's the FUNimation Spanish singles they began releasing for about $10. Yeah, the footage is the FUNi remastered crap version.jjgp1112 wrote:I think I'm confusing it with the Spanish DVDs that Funi releases themselves.email2003 wrote:I don't think so. Bah, DBZA Season Two or Three would look sexy with some DBOX masters used. The fans demand you buy them!!KaiserNeko wrote:I'm also a much bigger fan of the manga, I do feel that Kai is giving an all around quicker and more accessible experience, and I too at times cannot stand the anime.Kendamu wrote:Y'know, I own all 42 volumes of the manga in English and Japanese. In essence, I agree with your post and think that Rocketman should leave this thread as he's merely trolling at this point. No, I'm serious Rocket, you're obviously just being opinionated and self-righteous about how you feel about the show. In short, you're not that big a fan of it to begin with, so here you're just causing more trouble than anything else.
On Topic: I don't know if I'll be purchasing these as soon as they come out, but I do know I want to get them some day. Sooner rather than later of course, but when the time is right and the price is just a little cheaper... and I have more money!
Here's hoping marathon mode migrates over to this release.
While it's not specifically related to the Japanese version, I'm hoping FUNimation will finally do some good extras for their version, too. Doubtful, but alas...
Who knows, maybe FUNimation will one day make some über release for fans of their dub, or even the Ocean dub. Not entirely likely, but seemingly possible.
