Re: DragonBall Z Kai - Cable TV Version (NickToons)
They left in Frieza mutilated and floating through space (even without blood, seeing half his face gone is kind of creepy) so, you never know. The melting scene IS technically bloodless.
Re: DragonBall Z Kai - Cable TV Version (NickToons)
Knowing Nicktoons, they would either keep it in its entirety, or have it show a shot of either Piccolo or Cell's face in its place.MetroidJunkie wrote:On another note, how do you think Nicktoons will handle the human absorption? You guys know what I'm talking about, the fat guy who dissolves infront of Piccolo.

It seems as Kai goes on, they're becoming more relaxed with the edits. I hope it'll keep that way.

Well, they'll probably atleast cut out the second where it shows the tail impaling him so it'll go straight to the shot of the tail siphoning it in. They're never good with impalement, it would seem.funrush wrote:Knowing Nicktoons, they would either keep it in its entirety, or have it show a shot of either Piccolo or Cell's face in its place.MetroidJunkie wrote:On another note, how do you think Nicktoons will handle the human absorption? Re: DragonBall Z Kai - Cable TV Version (NickToons)
Hey guys, I just wanna throw it out there - I've begun the comparisons for set five now. For those who don't know, I'll note it on my signature when I post an episode comparison on the Nicktoons Edits Guide.
I just wanted to make people aware of this first update (for this set) since it's been a few months and I'm sure we've gained a few new people in the comunity.

The new episode comparisons were good. I wonder why they thought they needed to edit the word "end".

This edit seems unusual too, why not simply replace 'his body' with 'him'?

Hey, great edits, although I did spot a couple of mistakes in the episode 53 one.
First of all "I'am Lord Freeza!" is kept in the broadcast, secondly, in the UNCUT version, Freeza then continues with "Etch this into your skull!", while the broadcast has "Burn this into your mind!".
Once again, great edits, I'm still making my way through episode 53 though.

Ah, fixed those. Thanks for the heads up. It's always embarrassing when that happens but, I do appreciate people pointing it out so that it doesn't stay a mistake for long.DragonBoxZTheMovies wrote:Hey, great edits, although I did spot a couple of mistakes in the episode 53 one.

Re: DragonBall Z Kai - Cable TV Version (NickToons)
Not really. In the beginning, words like "scum" and "kill/die" were used more freely. Now that Funi knows the Nicktoons version will be the base for the Toonzai version, they're arguably tightened the edits to make it easier to show on Toonzai. It seems as Kai goes on, they're becoming more relaxed with the edits. I hope it'll keep that way.

I meant visually, not in terms of dialogue. Police men with guns, Vegeta getting his arm snapped uncut, little things like that.

Did they ever show the impalement in that scene? As far as I can remember (in both cut and uncut version) it just shows the man's face at the moment of impact.MetroidJunkie wrote:Well, they'll probably atleast cut out the second where it shows the tail impaling him so it'll go straight to the shot of the tail siphoning it in. As view changes to the tail, you can see it sticking in his back. They'd atleast have that almost certainly removed so that it starts out as the pan has the man out of view.gameleon wrote:

Re: DragonBall Z Kai - Cable TV Version (NickToons)
Visually? Nicktoons has been pretty consistent (except for those odd times when a scene that was cut in an episode is in the recap for the next episode), they've never edited guns. Vegeta getting his arm broken, now that was a bit of a surprise. Now, was the sound effect of the bones breaking there? If yes, then I'll guarantee that Toonzai will either take the sound effect out or cut completely.I meant visually, not in terms of dialogue. There doesn't appear to be any bone crunching sounds, even in the dvd. Just an initial kick impact sound. I think I recall a crunching noise when she steps on his other arm, though.gmster wrote:Visually? 2 other surprises is that they let 17 strangle Tenshinhan in a lock and give Piccolo an uppercut to the stomach that managed to warp his back. Neither of these were clipped out, when they've censored lesser hits in the Freeza saga.
Also, in your comparison when they change 'doom' to 'match', I'm pretty sure King Cold's calling him "My Freeza", Might Freeza doesn't make sense.

Sorry, if this was already brought up, but in the episode where they find the second time machine, I could have sworn that Trunks says that Bulma was the one that wrote "Hope!" on the machine. I was always under the impression that it was Trunks that wrote it though :/.

I just read Tanooki's episode 55 edit guide, and I was surprised at how many instances of the word "die" appeared and were edited.
Re: DragonBall Z Kai - Cable TV Version (NickToons)
What's surprising me is a lot of the dialogue they're editing, example "Might Freeza have met his doom" is actually OK for Toonzai, but Nicktoons goes the extra mile and changes "doom" to "match".
Is Nicktoons asking the dialogue to be changed or is Funimation's script writers playing it extra safe?

"Doom" is OK for Nicktoons too, they've said it before. This seems to be one of those confusing edits where it was OK before but, for some reason not this time. Could be just the way it was worded this time.gmster wrote:What's surprising me is a lot of the dialogue they're editing, example "Might Freeza have met his doom" is actually OK for Toonzai, but Nicktoons goes the extra mile and changes "doom" to "match".
