Engrish versions tend to be terrible.

Nope, otherwise people would be talking about it already.
Sorry, I posted this before scrolling up the comments.

Seriously, there's an english version of the song by its original singer. While I prefer Vic Mignogna, it's still all right. There's even uploads of it, specifically right here...

Only dubs that matter are DB, Kai, & Super. Nothing else.

Sabat didn't want to use it as he doesn't like it.

DUBBED ENGING?

That means, we might hear the full version at the 11:30 PM slot.
I will give them credit where's do, they did a decent job with the 1:1 translation of the song, judging by the lyrics.

I did not see the credits, did it show the singer?
It sounded a bit like Mark de Groot.

Why not hire someone to rerecord it then? Are Toei being dicks about it, or something?

It's not, it sounded like Ian Sinclair to me.

That's what most people are thinking. Someone asked Sabat on twitter about the opening being dubbed and he said something along the lines of "it's complicated".

correct me if i'm wrong, but it seems like the original Japanese singer for Chozetsu Dynamic (who sang the English ver if I heard correctly) wouldn't be getting much if a person at Funi covered it for the US Release, and Toei believing that an English version already exists, sees no purpose in Funi making a new one.

Which is most likely why there hasn't been any word of a dubbed opening. Hell, knowing what happened with the recent movies, I wouldn't be surprised if Funimation had to fight for the Japanese version.

Considering Kai's first opening was dubbed, & Toei recorded a new song in English specifically for overseas broadcasts, it kind of seems weird to not let them do it.
Also, yet he was fine with the English version of Flow's cover of 'Cha La Head Cha La' for the last 2 movies & 'Fight It Out'? I'd rather hear Vic Mignogna sing them if that's the case.

I don't know what went on behind the scenes with the movies, but we're not the only ones that got the English versions of those songs. both "Hero" and "CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA" were in their English versions for every international release.

As for Kai, Funimation probably just doesn't give a shit.

The ENgrish version is barely even comprehensible. Unless Funi has no choice but to use it they might as well use the original JP version or their own English adaptation.

Here's the song for anyone who missed it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvt6MTAK5OU

And the lyrics (as best as I can decipher them):

I see all these kids as I walk to school.
Their colorful backpacks so unique and cool.
I cannot but wonder which color I choose
If I still were a kid where would I run off to.

I don't have problems with dubbed endings, I just want by the time they get in the 3rd ending, this version to be used on

I've always enjoyed the dubbed openings. I hope they do it. Also if you're going to dub a show, why not go all out and dub the songs too. Makes perfect sense to dub the songs

As expected, the full version of the OP today is still Japanese.
Anticipating the full TV size English version of ED1 soon.

I'm wondering, since FUNimation's press announcement for Dragon Ball Super & Kai TFC's dubs said that they had full digital rights to the shows, can & will they put the episodes & movies on iTunes that aren't already there? We have Battle f Gods & Resurrection F there, so I'm wondering if they'll put the rest of the franchise they've dubbed there too in the future. They have the episodes of the various shows on Amazon & Xbox, so why not? They'd make a killing, especially if they have separate releases for the sub & dub & use the Dragon Box masters for Z rather than the horrible Blu-Ray masters.

Still the short ED :/ looks like we won't hear the full song until the Home release.
