Which is the reason why I take Toyble's & Young jijii's DBAF more seriously than DBM. Salagir throws random theories and ruins this great fanmanga. Because it IS very good, but when Salagir makes posts with ridiculous theories and applies them to DBM... Things go wrong.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

I wonder how many times he is going to fight Freeza. Is he just going to go off and fuse with everybody right away or keep fighting Freeza over and over.

Well honestly, that kind of theory makes a lot more sense to me than some bizarre story about seven Super Saiyans awakening dragons or whatever.

I don't see how Great Elder unlocking great power through fusion is more absurd than.... pretty much anything we see in Dragon Ball.

Especially given Freeza's nerf in this manga.

Honestly, if Salagir hadn't said anything about that, we wouldn't even suspect that Freeza might have another power level.

They were careful enough in the manga and in the specials to be vague enough about power levels so that there is no static interpretation of power levels. So it works with what Salagir said and without what Salagir said.

Yeah, I know that it could still make sense without Freeza being nerfed it just makes a bit more sense with that in mind. Not like the nerf was ever necessary, even in that Saiyan's special.

I agree it was unnecessary for Freeza's power level to be dropped.

Character's having their power be around a certain convenient point is traditional, but actually dropping a character's power to be closer to others is pushing it a little too far.

Still, I won't lose any sleep over it.... it hasn't really had any effect on the story so far.

Not having a scouter on and not being able to sense ki? He doesn't move, so he just assumes he's dead since he has no immediate way to know any better. (Personally, I prefer the original "I've been had! Need to seek the bitches!" reason for Freeza leaving Nail alive. lol)

Also, "And if they don't change back"......what the hell is he talking about?! Did I miss something, or has the translation gotten so bad that it makes no freaking sense in English anymore?

Since Guru "died", the Dragon Balls turned to stone.

Didn't realize Planet Namek was a giant shoe.

Also, really looking forward to Planet Namek's revenge.

Since when Namekian fusion make you talk like Venom? It make me wonder, through, maybe I'm too nitpicky about it, but, didn`t Nail said in Manga, that Fusion don`t make you lost your personality?

He lied. Sort of. There were subtle but definite differences in Piccolo's personality after both of his fusions.

I don't think so. I think that was just Piccolo growing as a character, not his fusions. The only one that may have affected him was with Kami. Just my thoughts.

My theory on the whole personality thing after reading this fan-comic is that there are two types of Namekian fusion. The first, is the one Nail and Piccolo did, in which one transfers his strength to another, and the personality and the looks of the donator disappears. The second is something I'd like to call Full Namekian Fusion, in which personality, strength, and looks are all combined, which is what Nail and Grand Elder did. Now I'm kind of thinking now that Gast will use the fusion Piccolo and Nail did, and he'll just take the strength, not the personality from the other Namekians.

Well, Piccolo told Dende to hide and later lived at God's Palace with him, perhaps guiding him in his new job as God of Earth. He said something like hoping that the Namekians and the Great Elder would be able to rest in peace now that Freeza was dead (after Gokuu seemingly killed him with the Genki-Dama), and later said "Rest in peace...Great Elder" after he passed away on Earth.

After merging with God, he had respect for Kaioushin and was stunned over the palace's destruction during SS3 Gotenks and Super Boo's fight, saying in astonishment, "The palace...the palace..." even as their battle raged on.

Yeah, before Piccolo didn't even seem to treat King Kai with any sort of respect, not addressing him as "-Sama" in the Japanese version (or just calling him "The Kai" in the DBZK dub).
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

I'd say that Nail, in this instance, is just conscious of the fact that the Great Elder is a part of him. As such, he is presenting himself as a collective, not a singular individual.

When "sole" is used as an adjective, it means "the only one".
