Hmmm... while I know Dragon Ball isn't necessarily about the fighting and I LOVE that there's a lot of character development and gags, seriously it's awesome, what I sort of hoped for was that they took the amount of fighting the previous 13 movies had (on average) in minutes and then added plot on top of that. So I'm sort of torn in that the fighting only lasts 15 mins in total. It would've been awesome if the movie was 10 minutes longer with 10 minutes of awesome fighting. Hell, this movie doesn't even look THAT expensive, it looks good, but it doesn't look Miyazaki expensive good. So, honestly, without saying that there should be less character development and gags, I think 10 minutes of extra fighting would've been pretty good.
The whole story thing kind of bugs me as well a bit. I would've loved if they had an A-plot and a B-plot. The A-plot focusing on our Saiyan characters and doing what they do best, steal the limelight, and the B-plot focusing on the more minor characters accomplishing things worthwhile (maybe not as fighting, but you know... if there were minions to beat, while the Saiyans were doing something else, that'd be totally awesome!) like stealing Dragon Balls from the bad guys or whatever. Even on a 85 minute story, that's MORE than possible to do. I get the feeling not a lot of things actually HAPPEN in this movie.
Now, I haven't seen the movie, and from what I've seen I'm VERY impressed and the previous two things are not NEARLY enough to quench my thirst for this movie! So I'm really excited still

But what I just said, I hope the sequel (also I hope there is one) uses stuff like that. Just give those other guys a chance to shine in their fighting. Or let them at least stand a bit of a chance against a superior foe :p Especially all of them together :p Oh, well, it's going to be super amazing awesome and probably the best Dragon Ball movie ever. But it might not be the perfect Dragon Ball movie to me :p
