Not a PURCHASE as such since it was a gift from my girlfriend late last year, but I finally put up this wonderful painting of Bulma on my bedroom door!

You should see if she'll make me a Pikkon one haha :P
The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

I saw on the blu-ray.com forums they were back in stock and some people received brand new factory sealed copies. Honestly I was tempted but in my experience Amazon US charges a lot for shipping to Ireland, so still waiting to see if Madman's version will pop up on eBay again (have level 1.2 already) as it least then I'd have both sets.

Delighted for those who get to open up these bad boys though :D

Doc Harris Voice: Could this mean that Funimation is testing the sustained popularity of a release from almost a decade ago? Is this a reaction to the 30th anniversary set? Could more of these be coming? Probably not! But stay tuneddddd.

It's most likely just a few unsold boxes of stock that were found at an Amazon warehouse.

Update : I gave in and bought 1.1. Paid more than I was initially willing to, but I may regret it if these go out of stock again and prices once again skyrocket

Funny thing is, even if Funi don't actually produce any copies, I've heard that 2.1 was sent off for duplication before it was cancelled, so it's possible that, assuming this restock is unsold stock being cleared, 2.1 could go on sale.
Don't count on it, of course, but it's possible.
The point of Dragon Ball is to enjoy it. Never lose sight of that.

Maybe levels 1.1 and 1.2 will be restocked to see if there's still demand for this version.

I was thinking it's perhaps funi clearing their stock (they did have those extra dboxes) but if they did send out this stock and see they're selling fast then maybe..

If this were any other company, I'd say it's possible they'd be looking to restock 1.1 and 1.2, and begin selling the already-fully-authored 2.1 and 2.2, since they're already-authored Blu-rays just sitting in the vaults, which they could just restock as needed to keep up with the demand from the fans, possibly looking at reviving & finishing the line entirely if 1.1-2.2 sell well enough to justify the costs of authoring further Blu-rays, using the cleaned-up 4:3 non-DNR'd masters they had prepared during the production of the Season BDs.

But this is Funimation. The company that is physically allergic to giving the fans what they want. I wouldn't count on them producing new stock AT ALL. I'm with many of the others here; this is almost certainly just warehouse clearance.

I just picked up the original DVDs for Fusion Reborn and The 2nd Broly movie. Since I own the Dragonboxes for the movies I kinda wanna move away from Funi's remastered sets.
