I don't think Shimanuki has looked this good at any other point in Super's run.
ImageImageImageImageImage
He's pretty much matched is Z style finally, faces are a tiny bit fatter than they used to be and his noses aren't quite the same, but overall he's pretty much there.
I hope they continue to give him enough time to polish his work for all future episodes.

Besides some okay art at points, the episode was otherwise nothing really to talk about.

Next episode it looks like Shimanuki is going to give us some amazing artwork.

You know what?
NEP:
Shimanuki's art is so good, but Yamammuro's design is making it worse. Look at those shiny parts, it looked like a toy. If only the highlights weren't there....
I wish he didn't give any highlights.

For the episode:
The girl is pretty cute and hot, but in the second half her art is not as charming as the first half.
I'm bad at English and still learning. If there's anything wrong, please correct me. :D

The episode had some decent character animation especially with Yurin. Enjoyed that, but Ide's overwhelming presence kind of ruined the overall episode. The pacing was also awful.

I know it's unpopular, but I like Ide's look well enough. Other than that, it was kind of a nothing episode. I would have liked for it to have been a two-parter, it would have given the more chance for interesting fights, more time for Tenshinhan to shine, perhaps an actual ending to the story, rather than the hasty wrap-up we received.

That episode was so look decent!!!!
In the animation department it gave use noyhing special but still maintained a decent level and the character art was also good. I doubt Tien ever looked that good in super. If we reached that point where the show can look that good weekly then great!!!!
What these episodes need is to be 2 parts. They should expand the dojo idea and have the characters discussing ki or even have Goku demonstrate how ki works.

The next episode looks decent but the characters look bulky!!! That Goku and Gohan sure feel stretched for Super's standards. Typical Shimanuki. Still his hair art is the best. I really hope that he could animated beyond his usual stiffness.

Oh man soooo goood! Hope Goku goes SSGSS, more SSGSS from Shimanuki that would be so

The little bit of Tsuji in the NEP is more what I've come to expect from her, I wonder if her work in 88 looked a but off because she rushed it to focus on 90.

On another note this shot reminded me of Otsuka.

I experienced physical and emotional pain watching the episode right after the brilliant Tiger Mask W #30. Ouch.

Hopefully NEP looks amazing just as how the preview hyped it.

A lil off-topic but I watched Fairy Tail Dragon Cry and as much as I enjoy battles...I used to enjoy FT's fights but the movie disappointed me... either its because it has been a long time since I watched an FT fight or that this is DBS's fault.

Nashizawa did a better job here than he did last episode, but he still has issues with making characters look too young at points and he really can't draw Goku head on.
Nii is okay, I think he'd be a lot better if he changed his noses.

Is this the first instance of something looking better in the NEP than in the final episode?

Despite the episode not being very good, there were a lot of great drawings, a small selection;

I only put one here, but there were a lot of great Roshi drawings.
I'd love to know who drew that middle shot of Tenshinhan.

Hey, sorry, dumb person here. Should I see a difference between those two shots, cause they're identical to my eye.

Edit: Spotted the nose, but it's not a major downgrade. Typical of what we see in DBS.

Yeah, I saw that right after I posted. I wouldn't call it a major downgrade, though. The overall composition is still fine.

That shirtless Tenshinan looked amazing. Roshi also looked very good throughout this episode.
The whole episode looked good in my opinion. I don't recall any eye-popping bad shot. Confirms Super's streak of consistent episodes since episode 77. That's 3 months of good episodes, I'm really happy right now: the show looks good, the animation is good and this new filter is a blessing (that line-art thing is also very nice).

Thems is some scribbly storyboards. Square head Zamasu is hilarious.
Looks like they still use Buu's Z design for reference.
I'm surprised at how polished that dinosaur's sheet is.

13 episodes and 14 weeks without any major collapses in quality, is this real life? That's not to say that every episode is golden, but the fact that it's been keeping things up the majority of the time is crazy.
Hopefully by next arc the art quality becomes more consistently high, we're getting great pieces of art a lot more often now, but we're still seeing some not so great stuff every episode too.
Each week I become more and more intrigued as to how the tournament will look.

Is that even normal those storyboards look that bad?
No wonder Toriyama was almost quitting Super if he really supervises every storyboard, he basically saw Super's schedule collapse in front of his eyes.
