They expect too much of it anyway. I'm getting it, even if it has no next episode previews. The reason I want to buy DB season sets is so I can complete my collection
The next episode previews for DBZ are awesome. Every other Funimation show has next episode previews so why not the Dragonball shows?
'Cause Toei won't give 'em to 'em without more cash.

I don't get why some people are so fussed with hundreds of tiny clips of recycled footage. :?

Isn't one preview just kinda important though? I coulda sworn there was a preview where Goku is shown practising the Kaioken on Kaio's planet, but never made it in the show, something like that. Maybe I'm thinking of the recap where he's practising the Genki Dama or something, I haven't watched Saiyan Arc in a long while...

They announced this at AX! I was so excited to learn they finally got the rights to the original 13 episodes!

I'll be picking this up as soon as possible!
I thought they said release date was in Aug...

I'm not sure if we are thinking of the same thing, but there is a preview in the Anoyoichi Budokai saga that showed Goku as a Super Saiyan, but when the episode aired, his hair was colored black, making him appear as a, ahem, "False Super Saiyan".

It should be there, no matter what it is. Also, don't some of the next episode previews have unique footage?
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

That's kind of how I feel when people make a big deal about the widescreen.

I mean, if you want to be all technical, one could argue that you're missing more footage without the next episode previews than with those bars. :P

No, I'm pretty sure it's the other way around. Too lazy to actually do the math, but I think 22 minutes missing a third or fourth of the picture adds up to more then thirty seconds missing all of the picture.

The footage of Goku practicing the Kaioken is also shown in the recap in the very next episode. I don't see the point in even wasting a concerned thought on Next Episode previews. I mean, what's so important?

Hell, going even further, what's so important about the cropping? All of the important stuff goes on in the center, not the top and bottom. All you're losing are clouds and the tips of boots or hair. Nothing important is being lost.

Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Because the cropping is pointless? Why should we put up with something like that? No other company would insult the consumer like that, and if any other series were cropped the fans wouldn't put up with it.

I think we get the point on the cropping and missing previews.

Being as the new Dragonball set will be without cropping and missing previews, it shouldn't be that bad.

You mean the one where it shows footage of Goku and Kaio using the kaioken (or something) to smash through pillars, footage that was never actually in an episode. Is that what you mean?

That was in a recap, not a next episode preview, IIRC.

According to Mike, they're releasing DB Movie 1 uncut, too, and most likely with Season 1.

Now what is to say they won't release all of DB in these sets and then like DBZ release the Dragon Box versions?

I probably won't even buy these now since we'll probably get a Dragon Box release.

And it saves money. And my Mom still owes me 20 bucks, and I see my brother being a lazy bastard again in the future and paying me to clean the bathroom again, so I'll have enough money by the time it comes out. And it's two days before my birthday, so I'll also have plenty of birthday money!
