We don't. We probably won't know for sure until the game actually comes out.

Horikawa sounds different, much deeper. I love the interaction between Freeza and Ryotsu, that one-shot was hilarious
Tim Duncan is dope and forever.

It would be rather odd if they didn't hire Horikawa to voice Vegeta but the others got their original VAs. It's hard to tell if it is Horikawa or not.

The guys from shonengamez translated the video. http://www.shonengamez.com/2014/03/10/j ... pvtrailer/
I love how they kept Medaka's speech about life.
And the idea of Hisoka and Arale playing together is really creepy.

I just noticed that Kumagawa doesn't say a thing in the video. Maybe they didn't get Megumi Ogata to voice him?

Yup.

I like all the character interaction, had a feeling that was going on.

J-Stars Victory Vs got a 32/40 (8/8/8/8) score on Famitsu. I'm not gonna lie, I expected more. But that's not a bad score. For reference, Jump Ultimate Stars got 30/40.

Famitsu gave Battle of Z exactly the same score (32/40) so it's a bit worrisome.

I've just checked JSVS Wikipedia and it states that the developer is Spike but can someone confirm it is really?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J-Stars_Victory_Vs

JSVS just looks something too good for Spike to have developed, that's all.

Spike developed BT3, which was way better.

Tenkaichi 3 was a mindless button masher with cloned characters that simply had different voices/ultimates/beams so I don't really see how Tenkaichi 3 could be better than JSVS. Sure T3 was fun but better than JSVS? We'll have to see, but probably not.

The final boss is here! No, it's not Dr Mashirito again. It's not Dio Brando either. It is... Dark Phantom, a generic shadow with a generic name that can transform into playable characters. Yay.

Just 1 week left...
Will there be good translations for everything when the game is released? Otherwise, how will we know where to go to play? I'm guessing most of us will just be doing free play and nothing else, but what if we end up going to the opinions screen and changing the button layout or difficulty on accident?...

Learning even the most basic words in katakana is helpful (like オプション being "option"), and knowing that はい (hai) is "yes" while いいえ (iie) is "no" will get you through most things.

Perhaps most important is that X/O are swapped in Japan. Not their placement on the controller, mind you, but what they do. O is to confirm, while X is to cancel.

So, the boss is a wannabe Shang Tsung?

I approve, though I hope he gets an interesting story...or at least takes your soul when he wins.

Plot-twist: he's actually Ozotto in disguise.

Finally got to listen to the newest long trailer the other day, and I see what you guys are talking about with Vegeta - except I also noticed something else. Listen to the Vegeta fight reacts underneath the monologue. THOSE sound like the Horikawa we know and love. It's just that monologuing voice that sounds...off. Is it possible that for some reason they had to get someone else to do that little bit (like maybe he couldn't come in to record for this trailer, or something)?

Also, not really sure how to feel about this 'Dark Phantom' thing. Does seem pretty lazy, but at the same time, it's honestly a little better than just using one particular franchise's character as the main villain.

More gameplay videos.
Ichigo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b0herPzgtaA
Tsuna and Reborn: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fl0rgRK4JZQ
Oga and baby Beel: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zGM9IzQZ1-k
Gintoki: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rliC7W_lSCM

I wonder what happens when Gintoki uses his groin attack in a female character.

Well, I guess these videos are the confirmation I was looking for that Spike's the developer after all.

They have the elements of a Spike fighting game, targeting the aims (Tenkaichi Tag Team) the flow breaks to rocks but then it disappears (reminds me specifically of RB2) and becomes normal again, plus the transparent walls (any Tenkaichi/RB game).

I still want this game but knowing it's developed by Spike I'll just wait for eBay auctions as it doesn't deserve the full retail price, imo. I've never paid the full price for a Spike game and it wouldn't be now either that I'd do it.

You really hate Spike, don't you? What did they do to you?? Creating the succeful Tenkaichi series, thus preventing the less popular Budokai style to continue at a time people wanted DBZ games rather than generic fighting games with DBZ skins...

What's you problem with Spike? The fact the every character in the Sparking! series played the same? Aren't those gameplay videos enough to show that this is not the case anymore?

The whole idea of wanting a super deep dbz game is over blown anyway. Especially since the fights in the show consist of the same thing. Character A rushes to Character B, very quick punches and kicks are thrown so fast to the point that we can barely tell whats going on, insert fancy haymakers, right hooks, roundhouses and drop kicks, then.... ENERGY BLAST(S).

Granted while variety in hand to hand combat and play style are necessary, no DBZ game needs to be as "deep" as Tekken in order to be good.

The only fighting game I can think of where literally everyone plays the same is Rag Doll Kung-Fu.
It's not too late. One day, it will be.
