I'm not sure what the general consensus is around here in that regard but my issue has nothing to do with "If he was Ultimate he'd put up a better fight." My issue is his ability to turn Super Saiyan at all, which was the movies original intention IMO, especially since he does turn at some point in the movie, just not for fighting purposes (correct me if I'm wrong). Though, I can see where someone can make a case that because they may have made a last minute change to Gohan's hair, then he is indeed fighting with the intention of being an SSJ but only appearing "Mystic" because there was an error made and not with his "mystic strength" if that makes sense. But again, that's not my gripe. And the gripe is not major enough to cause me to not see this day 1. But it just goes with the list of continual inconsistencies that I have to defend when it comes up in debate by the Dragonball "haters."

Oh well see I didn't fully understand what your issue with the movie was at first, but now that I do (I hope) , I can say this. Gohan being able to turn Super Saiyan post the Unlocked Potential ritual has been up for debate for a long time as you may already know. Some believe the "Ultimate Power Up" completely overwrote the nature of the Saiyan blood inside Gohan that allowed him to go super Saiyan in exchange for being able to access his full power without transforming (see Old Kai's quote about transforming). Then there some people who believe that Gohan can go SSJ it's just that his "Ultimate" for is more convenient and lastly due to GT some believe that because of his lack of training Gohan loses the "Ultimate Power Up". The problem was that until BoG came along there was never a time where Gohan used both, so it was no way to prove which theory was true unless you dismiss GT. In the later half of the Boo arc and Movie 13 Gohan does not go Super instead he uses his "Ultimate Power Up" yet in GT he doesn't use his Ultimate power but Super Saiyan instead. Battle of Gods takes place between both time periods and he uses both forms of powering up but for different reasons, so take from that what you will. Also keep in mind that Toriyama helped write the story for BoG lol. Hopefully I was able to help.

Is it just me, or is Birusu's voice different to the one in the first trailer? That, and it appears that they used the same animation from the trailer at the start, except they threw it on an appropriate background, as opposed to the generic one in the trailer. Also noticed that the line, "Before creation comes destruction" is gone, must've been recorded specifically for the trailer.
Speaking of which, I'm starting to wonder how much of a role the "Creation and Destruction" thing actually plays in the film.

By the way, is there any interesting dialogue in this scene or is it mostly just generic stuff?

EDIT: Was watching the clip again. The music is...interesting. It almost sounds like a mix between Mark Menza and Nathan Johnson. It was very much in the background and rather ominous sounding so it's probably not the best piece to judge the score on. Perhaps a scene with more feeling would bring it out more.

Toriyama had a hell of a lot more input than I originally thought going by that interview. So he didn't actually forget SSJ3 he just thought it was SSJ2, and he forgot SSJ2 instead. That is a lot more understandable.

Well it's a very strong chance its true. You actually think it was for "promotional" reasons? Even after seeing the old trailers with actual scenes from the movie with SSJ Gohan? To me, it seems like in the battle scene that originally Gohan is powering up with yellow aura around him and that flash that someone previously brought up is when his hair turns yellow, and they just went back and kept his hair black the whole time and changed the aura to white.

I agree with you, in the earlier scans of the movie we got from certain magazines there was a scene where Birusu is clearly headbutting a SSJ Gohan against Buu. I always felt that scene with Gohan powering up was with a SSJ aura then the flash is him becoming SSJ too since the light orange look to his gi during the flash matches the color of his SSJ Gohan state. They should have just kept him as a SSJ to begin with and not even bother with the whole recoloring bit, not like it would have changed anything so what's the big deal again? So much for Watanabe saying "Gohan will be a SSJ in this movie," lol.

But remember, he was originally written as Ultimate, not SSJ. Even if he was SSJ, the intent was always Ultimate.

I don't know, unless we have the screenplay/script to look over we can't honestly say that with certainty.

The scene where Goku is fighting Bills as a SSJ1 is after he became SSG, isn't it? And the SSG form was temporary, but after achieving it he can tap into it in his other forms. It looks like he didn't go SSJ3 after SSG though, so maybe he was holding back.

I wonder, if he could become SSJ3 after SSJG why didn't he? Do transforming adds any boost to SSJG or something?

Well we all know, except for a few, that Gohan was recolored. So Gohan is only fighting at a Super Saiyan level, not in his Ultimate form.

From what we know, the whole Super Saiyan Gohan was only for promotional reasons, and the scriptwriter had wrote the scene with Ultimate Gohan.
Now, if you can't believe that Ultimate Gohan could get beaten like that by Bills, think again. Bills is confirmed to be stronger than Super Vegetto.

Not exactly, that quote about him being the strongest in the history of Z is contradicted by the fact that Uisu is stronger than him thus nullifying the statement. Seems more like promotional hype than anything so far for the time being. We won't know how strong Birusu really is without seeing the movie for ourselves.

Where are people getting the idea that SSJG Gohan would be stronger the SSJG Goku, Gohan gave Goku his power to become SSJG Goku too, and like I said Goku is a much more skilled fighter then Gohan.

Being more skilled than Gohan is subjective.

I think we should wait for more info about the plot. There could be a plot-reason for choosing Goku, like, for example, maybe Goku took the fight with Bills more personal than the others.

Gohan is equally skilled as Goku.

Just compare the amount of their techniques. Don't worry, you don't have to count.

By that logic Goku is more skilled than Vegeta and we all saw how that turned out when they duked it out during the Buu arc.

I can understand the annoyance with Saiyan Island stealing info and such without giving credit, but do they really deserve to be a forum punching bag? No offense, but some of this is starting to come off like forum-V.S.-forum elite-ism to me. 'Our forum and community is SO much better than yours!' and so on. On topic, ever since someone brought it back up again, I'm still wondering what those stick things in the background of the one group shot (the one with Goku sitting on the ground) are. They do look kinda like spaceship legs, akin to Kami's ship sorta, but why would they need a ship at that point?

Maybe you missed the battle video where Saiyan island viciously attacks Kanzenshuu? They started this war. Also if not for them, we'd have already got to read kei17's great spoilers... but because of Saiyan Island we have to wait extra long until they get published at Kanzenshuu.. so that way Saiyan Island can't steal them. I'm especially pissed off at Saiyan island for that reason.. so if you wish you could read the entire plot summary by now? Blame Saiyan Island.. without them you'd have been able to read it days ago!

Ok, so I made an assumption which made an ass out of me... but the assumption was based on this post SaiyaJedi made earlier in the thread. Can you really blame me for thinking this was case? Him being a staff member here, I thought this post represented Kanzenshuu's official stance on the matter. I guess Kanzenshuu doesn't have a PR department.

And no, I'm not going to translate Toriyama's answer here if that means it's going to end up on Saiyan Island (credited to one of their spurious "sources", if anyone at all) before it goes up on Kanzenshuu.

I'll admit my opinion on this could be wonky though, since I really didn't care too badly when he seemingly was going Super Saiyan in the movie. It's just not one of the things that concerns me since I can think of a few valid interpretations for it all.

I'll say this and leave it at that - yes, I'm unaware of any kind of attack video from Saiyan Island towards Kanzenshuu. Even if that's the case though, I expect more out of the people I talk to here than I do out of people from a forum I've never been to. I've seen inter-forum wars tear apart both forums to the point of decimation before, and while I think this community is far too large for that to happen, I'd still rather not see it almost happen again either. The best way to show your disdain for them is to just ignore them.

And as far as the entire plot summary, I'm as anxious as you and everyone else is for it, but I never got the feeling it was because of Saiyan Island that it was taking a while to come out. I just assumed that kei was making it THAT detailed, and they were working on getting it all formatted properly and all that, amidst a heavy workload of who-knows what else. It'll come when it comes.
