I wish the fighting would get started already? Anyone hope that Freeza will transform against Nappa? I would like to see Salagir create a design for Freeza without him looking a Coola clone.

Goku's reaction is so...Goku

Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Well, that went okay. Who's ready for the special we'll inevitably get to after these next pages?
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I love how even the South Kaioshin is moved and hasn't heard such a melody in millions of years. I guess it makes sense since Ultra Super Duper Buu has absorbed that many people, he would have learned ancient secrets with time.

I thought the joke was that it was the exact same song as before and Goku is the only one that gets that. (At least that's what I want to believe).

Yeah, I thought it was that, or it was another Goku stupidity moment, where he thinks all music is the same.Scarz wrote:I thought the joke was that it was the exact same song as before and Goku is the only one that gets that. (At least that's what I want to believe).

When you are releasing it page-by-page, don't you think you shouldn't be wasting time with silly shit like this?
It all seems very pointless and unentertaining.

Its a very grave mistake to change things just because its being released "page-by-page". Every chapter should feel natural when read in one go, not rushed or filled with pages that are too "crammed". Not understanding that is the first step to "ruining" a comic.Freeza Heika wrote:When you are releasing it page-by-page, don't you think you shouldn't be wasting time with silly shit like this?

If you simply don't have the patience to follow the comic page-by-page then just wait till a full chapter is out to read it.

The joke isn't even funny imo, 3 pages of it is way too much...
That's what I don't like with DBM, it's full of boring dialogues and unfunny jokes slowing down the story. More than 3 years to finish the first round, really?

Those specific are like filler for no reason. The Specials, I understand, Gogeta Jr. needs a break, but when we get awesome Gogeta Jr. art & main story, why wasting a chapter just to make some Star Wars refferences that are not even funny?rereboy wrote:Its a very grave mistake to change things just because its being released "page-by-page". Perhaps to break the seriousness of the main story with some humor elements and keep it balanced, like most fiction does.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:Those specific are like filler for no reason. Honestly, its just 3 or 4 pages of it... If we had read this whole chapter in one go, even without finding the humor elements funny, we almost certainly would ignore these elements without making any sort of big deal out of it. Perhaps we would even appreciate the chapter more because it would be better balanced with these elements, even without finding them all that funny. They would serve their purpose of breaking the seriousness for a bit and at least some of us would find it funny.
Instead, because it takes several days to a new page to come out, suddenly, these humor elements are a waste of time or have no reason to exist. That, to me, only shows that people are looking at this all wrong. This isn't a comic with one page chapters. Its a comic with 20 something page chapters which so happens to release those chapters one page at the time so that the artist has time to draw it and the public doesn't wait too long for updates. Therefore, it doesn't matter at all if nothing good happens in one page or if takes 3 pages to tell a gag, as long as the chapter, read in one go, is good. And I don't think this chapter is bad just because of these pages.
People are just too eager for the comic to develop its story and are way too disappointed everytime a new page comes up and doesn't develop the comic as much as they hoped.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I think you're looking at it all wrong. If we're going to treat like a regular comic, then it is failing miserably. A comic needs to have something that keeps the reader flipping pages. Which this reference is doing a horrible job at.rereboy wrote:Instead, because it takes several days to a new page to come out, suddenly, these humor elements are a waste of time or have no reason to exist. You'd think with their schedule they'd be able to have something interesting in every page.
If you're not here soon... GET ON!

Its obvious from your response that you simply can't look at this comic one chapter at a time, instead of a page at a time. Essentially, that's the same thing as looking as a Abridged episode one minute at a time, instead of a whole episode at a time. The abridged team chooses to release a whole episode every now and then instead of releasing pieces of the episode on a fixed schedule like the DBM team does. That's basically the difference between them regarding releasing methods. Which one is better? Everyone will have an opinion on that, but I hope you can understand what I'm getting at with this example.
One minute of an abridged episode doesn't make the episode, nor does some pages of a DBM chapter make the whole chapter. And things like balance within the episode/chapter matter more than trying to keep every single minute / page as interesting or as funny as possible. Trying to do that would just probably backfire since the episode / chapter wouldn't have much room to "breathe".
So, we get at what I was getting that... If the whole chapter was read as a whole in one go, even if we didn't find these pages /gags funny, basically nobody would make such a big deal about them. Some would find it funny, some would appreciate the balance that the comic relief provides the chapter (even if they aren't aware of it) and some would just ignore it and read it faster to the next pages. Very few would actually have a problem with it.
And no, no one (normal at least) would stop reading a comic that they like just because there are some pages that they didn't appreciate or didn't like, like you seem to be suggesting. I didn't really like these pages with this comic relief when I read them. I don't find them very funny, honestly. However, when all the pages of the chapter became available for the translators, I read the chapter in one go. Those pages didn't bother me at all and actually felt much better when read quickly with the rest of the chapter, even though I still don't find it very funny. So yeah, that is a major factor and they don't "ruin" anything about the chapter.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse

The gravity has been increased and I'm sure this won't effect anyone important.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Eh, I'm not that demanding and I think that the last pages are pretty funny. It may be because of that I am swamped with exams and barely have time to check these forums and manga, so I don't feel that this small detour is a problem at all, nor is the time it takes to go between pages.
If fact, it's not odd at all that Buu would do something like this. After all, we have seen him doing goofy stuff in the manga as well.
But then, I prefer goofiness over exaggerated fights and seriousness too.
I for one got pretty tired of the last fights and I hope that this break from what Salagir Et. Al. had been doing will make them improve a bit. It seems like they had become pretty uninspired, so I could even wait a year or two for them to rest enough to be able to rewrite some of the story and some of the fights and make them at least more interesting and original.
EDIT: So I hope for some improvement in the fights to come in the least.

Well, that was interesting. Although it was pointless, I love Star Wars, so I'm cool with it.
