So after that pointless gag, I guess we are finally going to see some fighting.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Welp, you got me. Kinda. I can't read this comic. Not page by page, chapter by chapter, just at all. It would be one thing if this reference was just a once in a blue moon thing, or if it was clever, but it isn't. It happens all the time. The fact that this thing is taking about 1/4 of a chapter does not help it. The release schedule even more so.rereboy wrote:Its obvious from your response that you simply can't look at this comic one chapter at a time, instead of a page at a time. Essentially, that's the same thing as looking as a Abridged episode one minute at a time, instead of a whole episode at a time. The abridged team chooses to release a whole episode every now and then instead of releasing pieces of the episode on a fixed schedule like the DBM team does. That's basically the difference between them regarding releasing methods. Which one is better? Everyone will have an opinion on that, but I hope you can understand what I'm getting at with this example.
One minute of an abridged episode doesn't make the episode, nor does some pages of a DBM chapter make the whole chapter. And things like balance within the episode/chapter matter more than trying to keep every single minute / page as interesting or as funny as possible. Trying to do that would just probably backfire since the episode / chapter wouldn't have much room to "breathe".
So, we get at what I was getting that... If the whole chapter was read as a whole in one go, even if we didn't find these pages /gags funny, basically nobody would make such a big deal about them. Some would find it funny, some would appreciate the balance that the comic relief provides the chapter (even if they aren't aware of it) and some would just ignore it and read it faster to the next pages. Very few would actually have a problem with it.
And no, no one (normal at least) would stop reading a comic that they like just because there are some pages that they didn't appreciate or didn't like, like you seem to be suggesting. I didn't really like these pages with this comic relief when I read them. I don't find them very funny, honestly. However, when all the pages of the chapter became available for the translators, I read the chapter in one go. Those pages didn't bother me at all and actually felt much better when read quickly with the rest of the chapter, even though I still don't find it very funny. So yeah, that is a major factor and they don't "ruin" anything about the chapter.
So you're right, a normal person won't put down a comic if some things they don't find that interesting. They'll keep reading for the interesting parts, which this comic has very little of. We don't get breathers, the story makes a full stop when these things happen.
If you're not here soon... GET ON!

How many pages 'till the special?
Ugh, I really wish we could go at least a couple chapters before each new special. I really am tired of them with a new special after only 1 chapter each time.

We just finish the special with Gast not too while ago. Could they just wait for the next one? I like the specials but the last one ended like a few months ago.

I wonder what the next special is going to be? I guess it will based on Freeza's universe?

I wouldn't mind if it were a Zen-Buu special to be honest.

I hear that no one in Freeza's universe fought a SSj? If that is true then I doubt Freeza is any stronger then he was on Namek?

Boo has a little bit of everything in there!
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I really hope that's not what that is. We've had so many massacre specials, and we shouldn't. At least, not if that's the only chapter. Maybe if for Zen-Buu, we got a massacre chapter, and then a chapter or two showcasing an adventure or two of his before the tournament.Scarz wrote:Zen-Buu absorbs everybody in the universe and eats ice cream to celebrate. These "everyone dies" specials could be so much more.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I would like the next special about something relatively unexplored, like Universe 1 (how the Kaioshins stopped Bibidi would be quite interesting) or how Babidi managed to retain control of Buu in Universe 11.

This Boo is so damn awesome, I'm sure we'll see a special on him sometime later on, at least I hope so. His back story may take some creativity to be worthy of his persona. We all know how he came to be, but what he did until the tournament is what I think we are all very interested in.

Going by the Ginyu flash back and that Freeza will be fighting in the next round then I won't be surprise if we get a special based on Universe 8. I personally want a special based on Universe 13.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I just want a special that isn't completely predictable. I predicted the last chapter's final fight, with Freeza transforming into his final form. Look what happened, he did. Maybe Salagir should stop writing such bad specials. Sure, I'm probably not a better writer, but at least entertain me. The last three were way too predictable. I mean, come on now, guys, are we really going to settle for this? I just kinda ignore the specials because they don't seem to have as much effort put into them as the actual story. All of you probably don't feel that way, but, really now, we all have to admit these specials have been nothing great. Just either good or really bad. I'd much rather settle for another main chapter. At least I'd see some effort being put into that, other than this 3 page bad joke thing.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
While, in my opinion, some special were good (Gast and Bardock) most of them were abomination (Bojack, Cell and Brolly) and i dont expect any good with Zen Buu and Freeza, only special I'm looking forward now, is Kamesennin Kuririn.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
The Bardock special was probably my favorite part of this entire multiverse manga. Most of the others have been pretty damn boring and terribly drawn, but they still add to the current story even if it's just knowing exactly how a few of the other universe came to be.
And yea, Turtle Hermit Kuririn is the universe the confuses me the most. Can't wait for that special if and when it comes.
