Even if they do, I think I'll still pick up these releases, or at least just the first box. I've waited WAAAY too long for another release of this series to become available, especially the infamous first 13 episodes.

Their Dragon Box news certainly came at a poor time when you think about it. I was thinking of making this my first season set purchase, but I think I'm going to hold off now with a potential Dragon Box release in the future.

I know I'm not alone either. Thank you for bringing over the Dragon Boxes FUNimation, but you may have sort of killed this release unintentionally. XD

I think it was brilliant; the season sets finished up awhile back, and now overzealous fans can buy the series all over again!

The casual fans will probably still buy Season One. The DBoxes are more for the nerds like us.

I suppose they may have done the fans a favor in the process, though. Imagine if they got halfway or completely through the DB season sets, everyone had already bought them... and THEN they announced, "oh hey, we got dragonbox footage for everything next, k?"

It might be a bad business move, but it's also possibly a GREAT fan-relations move.

Very true, I hadn't thought of it liked that. If I was picking up these Dragon Ball releases as they were being released, I'd certainly feel a little fleeced in the end with an announcement like this. Ecstatic still, but fleeced nonetheless.

I guess there's also the fact that so far FUNimation has only announced Dragon Box releases of Z, but I can't see them not releasing DB and GT as well.

I'm really confused about what to do. I'm already going to be buying Z twice, and if they release the GT Dragonbox, I'll buy it a second time. Do you guys think that these season sets are worth getting now? If/when we get the DB Dragonbox, I don't want to feel like Funimation's bitch. Unfortunately, I have only seen Dragonball once and waiting for its Dragonbox would be agony. I am just so confused. :?

I'll get the first set and keep it, and I'll lend it out to those who haven't seen the show yet.. But I'll wait until confirmation or de-confirmation for a Dragon Ball Dragon Box release before getting the others.

Yeah. I'll only want the Dragon Box if that is announced when this is at like Season 2.

What if Funi puts the Dragonbox footage on the DB sets?

They wouldn't do that. I think quote sums up quite nicely why they won't:

"it prints friggin money" - Funi Rep

They have a perfectly good opportunity to make me buy everything twice. After redeeming themselves with the DragonBox, they then immediately dammned themselves by confusing me.

Well I'm still gonna buy them both. As a matter of fact, I feel like selling my Dragonball sets.

I'd say more like 5 or 6; most likely 5. The Z sets averaged about 30 episodes per set. Even if the Dragonball sets have considerably less, say 25, it would only be 6.

One of those two well tell us when it's released...

VegettoEX... or Tanooki Kuribo...

If not... then, someone else will buy it and tell us.

Hell, even if it isn't DBOX footage, I will still be satisfied if it is at least as close as the GT sets are.

I doubt that the Blue Bricks are going to have DBox footage on there. They'd have a much higher MSRP and would be marketed the same as the upcoming R1 DBoxes.

I might just buy the first set being as I don't have the first 13 episodes and the next episodes in a R4 set.
