No problem, I was not targetting you, but using your post to bounce on the subject of controversial censorship.dragondyle wrote:Well I'm not really making a big deal out of it. I'm just pointing out facts of what was changed.Cold Skin wrote:Those cases of censorship have always been like this in the PAL version. And it's no big deal.dragondyle wrote:This Budokai Collection is the Kai of the video games. With replacement music and censorship. I recently bought the game and finished all of Budokai 1's story. Broly's attack isn't the only censorship. The blood coming out of Vegetas mouth in the Freeza saga and the blood coming out of the hole Krillin blasted into Vegeta was removed. Also, the large holes in peoples bodies like, Raditz and Goku when Piccolo blasted them and when Cell blasted Trunks, were turned into black holes.
Also, here's an interesting tidbit. They kept the original spelling for the Saibamen in the game: Saibaimen. Along with them spelling it this way in the cutscenes, it's also kept this way in the before battle screen and his name in the battle screen.
If it was censorship that spoiled the story or scenes, maybe. But just like for Kai, this censorship makes you lose nothing, I'm not here to see Raditz uselessly spitting out a river of blood when the scene already makes it clear in itself that it's a deadly shot, just like for Vegeta being blasted through by Krilin.
This is maybe how some of you guys like it, maybe you'd enjoy it even more if we could see his guts out, but artistically, that adds nothing to the emotion or the information given, it already appears very clear that it's a pretty bad situation the character is in.
Seeing Vegeta crying tears is what matters, not seeing Vegeta spiting blood "in case you didn't understand that being shot in the heart is a deadly and painful situation".
Seeing blood on someone's face is important to show they're damaged and that the battle is fierce, otherwise you get the sense that it's not so bad. But making someone vomit blood is just free violence that brings nothing new with it and adds no impact, except being able to say "see?! See?! This show's not for kids! I told you it's for adults!! I'm watching something kids can't see, I'm not a kid!!"
So really, it's disappointing seeing people making every case of censorship a national scandal.
Nicktoons kind of censorship would be outrageous if it was forced onto us, because you really lose some impact by avoiding blood on the face or mentions of death.
Regular Kai censorship is nothing to worry about, the scenario is kept intact, you lose nothing from the feeling you're supposed to have, and spitting blood doesn't makes the battle anymore intense than when already having a face covered in blood and having trouble to catch up your breath.
I should have made the transition clear after the first sentence before sharing my personnal opinion, my mistake.
There's no hurry, I guess it would be harder to wait if you discovered the game's content for the first time. Be sure to take into account the upsides and downsides of this version.Hellspawn28 wrote:I might buy it after Christmas. I just bought Halo 4 (Almost finish with it) and I still need to finish Resident Evil 6. I don't have a job anymore, so it's hard for me to buy any game at the moment. 2012 is the only year that I didn't buy or play a Dragon Ball game and I have been doing so since 2003.
+ More impressive graphics, with effects added (glow, light and shadows) beyond a simple HD upscaling.
+ Collector Edition extra costumes.
+ Choice between Japanese and English voices for Budokai 3.
+ Additionnal story mode renders for Budokai 3 (don't know if it came with the Collector or was specifically made for this collection).
+ Easy but compelling achievements/trophies, mainly based on collecting characters and completing story modes.
+ You can now play the music that you want.
= Music from other Dragon Ball games.
- No Budokai 2 videos in the bonus.
- Censorship for Broly's ultimate attack on Budokai 3 and various "blasts hole through the body" cutscenes in Budokai 1.
And if you ever need help on Resident Evil 6, I've ended it with all difficulty modes and bonuses, so I can help you get it over with!
