Re: J-Stars Victory Vs. (JUMP crossover game) for PS3/Vita
If a game developer doesn't have even the slightest imagination to take what's shown in the series and adapt that into fighters that play differently, I don't want to play their game. I could just mash action figures together to get the same effect.

Re: J-Stars Victory Vs. (JUMP crossover game) for PS3/Vita
I don't hate games that Spike makes, they're fun but are they worth the full price? Hell no, at least not for me.JeffJarrett wrote:You really hate Spike, don't you? What did they do to you?? Creating the succeful Tenkaichi series, thus preventing the less popular Budokai style to continue at a time people wanted DBZ games rather than generic fighting games with DBZ skins...
You know why it's called "Budokai Tenkaichi"? Just because they weren't sure enough it'd live up to only be named as "Tenkaichi" and fed of the Budokai's success. If Budokai were as unpopular as you believe then I'd like to know why there's fans still wanting Budokai 4.
"generic games with DBZ skins" you think the Budokai series only reskinned Dragon Ball characters for a Street Fighting game? You've not played Budokai certainly.
By the way, Spike's Heroes Vs. Villains is a DBZ Tenkaichi game reskinned with characters of other series so that just goes to show that Spike doesn't put as much effort as its fans are led to believe.

FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:

What about the Japanese versions? They didn't go by "Budokai" and "Budokai Tenkaichi".dbboxkaifan wrote: You know why it's called "Budokai Tenkaichi"? Both the Budokai and Tenkaichi series' have their own pros and cons, but idk what to tell you if you haven't seen as many, if not more, fans asking for a Tenkaichi 4. Because I definitely have, both on and off this forum.
As for the game not being worth the full 70 dollars (88 for me with shipping), sure I agree with you. But I don't really think ANY games are worth that much. The chance to pit some of my favorite series' together, and play as some of my favorite characters ups the value for me, personally. That, and from gameplay videos, the game doesn't even look bad. Sure, your standard brawler, and the fighting may not be about as deep as the Tenkaichi games or a Naruto Storm game, but it definitely looks fun to play. Especially with friends. (That, and I happened to have the money to spare with my recent tax returns

Re: J-Stars Victory Vs. (JUMP crossover game) for PS3/Vita
i'm confused in all honesty. Is this game being made by Spike, or Bandai Namco?
Because on one end people say that the game is being developed by Spike because of the "Spike chunsoft" logo at the AR J stars Demo, and because it has similarities to tenkaichi
On the other hand, people say that Bandai Namco are developing this game, and that they are the same people who developed Gundam Extreme VS and Zenkai Battle Royale, to which people also say it shares similar looking elements to those games.

Re: J-Stars Victory Vs. (JUMP crossover game) for PS3/Vita
For the international releases they went with those names and that's what I was thinking, not the Japanese (Dragon Ball Z / Dragon Ball Z Sparking) so to make something out of itself they used the already famous "Budokai" title and then added "Tenkaichi" to it.Big Momma wrote:What about the Japanese versions? I've seen people who want RB3/T4 on YouTube and Facebook (Nostal's page) but those places are rather questionable, and if someone doesn't like Spike's games on there then if I don't like them then they'll label me as a hater with offensive language from its fans.
By the way, this guy made a lot of great points from Dimps and Spike games: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xl4YlZg3ao
I'll admit that I don't fully agree with him, since I find Spike games to be fun and not completely trash.
Namco Bandai (or officially Bandai Namco) is the publisher and then they hire the developers for the games.Silkman3003 wrote:i'm confused in all honesty. Is this game being made by Spike, or Bandai Namco?

In this case it's very likely to be Spike (Spike Chunsoft).

This guy is just ridicuous and biased. Atari ditributed the games outside of Japan, but it has always been Bandai who ordered the creation of the games in Japan and distributed them there.dbboxkaifan wrote:By the way, this guy made a lot of great points from Dimps and Spike games: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xl4YlZg3ao
Also, the first scam was Burst Limit in 2008. And, strangely, he forgot to list Dragonball Evolution: The Game (2009) as one of Dimps' creations.

Everyone is biased. It's impossible to not be biased. If you don't have any opinions about anything, you're a robot.

Are you implying Dragon Ball: Evolution for PSP is a bad game?JeffJarrett wrote:And, strangely, he forgot to list Dragonball Evolution: The Game (2009) as one of Dimps' creations.
The guy simply included the home console games not the handheld (although he did mention TTT), so if he did we'd have this lot:
Dimps
GBA:
* Dragon Ball: Advanced Adventure (2004)
3DS:
* Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission (2013)
PSP:
* Dragon Ball: Evolution (2009)
* Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai (2006)
* Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai 2 (2007)
Spike
PSP:
* Tenkaichi Tag Team (2010)
So despite that Dimps hasn't been developing Dragon Ball games due to the arcade machine game Dragon Ball Heroes there's still a good chunk of Dimps' DB games.

Wasn't ultimate butouden a game by Game Republic? I think they were the same who did the 2 DS Dragon Ball games too.

Can I be honest here? I don't care who developed this game, it still looks pretty awesome to me thus far. Of course, there could be horror stories that come out after it comes out that may make me a little worried about picking it up eventually, but still - I'm not too awfully worried based on what has been shown thus far.

My bad, yes it is. I didn't check the developer for this one because it felt so much like a Dimps game I just assumed it to be.Darknat wrote:Wasn't ultimate butouden a game by Game Republic? I think they were the same who did the 2 DS Dragon Ball games too.
You're right and if ChaosPunishment gets his hands on JSVS we'll probably see its flaws that the Devs/QC didn't check for.Gyt Kaliba wrote:Can I be honest here? I wish this wasn't a Spike game that just made me depressed.

From a Facebook page dedicated to the game... it's weird to quote from another site a person who posted something right above me xDThere MIGHT be more than 52 characters. Page 11 in the Booklet it says something about 52 characters and this "以上" which means more than. So Greg might be right when he said the final roster didn't match up with the number he saw. Going to update you guys soon. I rather tripple check this one than to post false news. Waiting for Jack to wake up for the final verdict ~ TheGameTagerZ

I'm sure the big red Japanese font explains it, but on the surface, I can't figure out why Toguro VS Arale and Vegeta VS Naruto are "dream match-ups."

Anyone have any experience with Play-Asia? I don't have any doubts or worries, I'm just curious. I ordered from there and chose the 3-5 day shipping option. Hopefully I'll get the game by Saturday.
