Um, they show teaser trailers in theaters. I hate to be a dick, but I am an assistant Manager at a movie theater(not that I am proud of it). The difference between a teaser and a final trailer is a lot. The only trailer to show in theaters so far is the Domestic one. It is under 2 minutes, contains little plot and dialogue. To me it falls under "teaser". Most "Blockbuster" movies have multiple trailers, often with the Final one coming out a month to two months before the films release.

I imagine there will be one more trailer, with more plot and dialogue, plus it will show the release date at the end.

I could be wrong though, and Fox could just be stupid.

If so, that'd be a horrible combo right there.

Omega, Street Fighter only had 1 trailer that was about 2 minutes long... as far as I know, that's the only trailer.

You know its kind of weird that Street Fighter comes out this month and yet I haven't seen any outside-the-internet advertisements for it.

I mean Watchmen has billboards and TV ads already and that's not til March. Street Fighter comes out in two weeks.

Granted Watchmen is Warner Bros, but FOX still has a semi-hand in it.

I'm just wondering if this is any indication that the live action movie will be given such a tiny amount of publicity.

Also minor website error I find kind of funny; on the Fox Movies coming soon page, there's a link that says "The Fox Film Based On The".
On hiatus.

Wolverine has less promotion than Dball?

Trust me... it's just Fox. They don't promote their movies well.

Well, good point I guess, but I really don't think the Chun Li movie is a blockbuster.

X-men 3 had two trailers, Spiderman 3 had like, 50. I don't know, I just think there should be a final DB trailer coming soon. One that incorporates stuff from that new miniteaser thing, and stuff from the domestic trailer, and hopefully new dialogue beyond "I'm not ready for this.."

I don't know if this has been mentioned here, but I just noticed that the Netflix listing for the live-action movie is still titled just Dragonball, and still has a rating of just PG.

Hmm. I wouldn't put much faith in that listing still being accurate in terms of the movie's rating, then. How long has it been up, anyway?

It's been up since before 1985? O_o;;

Movie sites are not to be trusted, it seems. Yahoo.com has the description listed as the saiyan saga.

Goku and a handful of friends battle for the Earth against the deadly forces of the Saiyans, who are sweeping across the universe, leaving a path of destruction. Goku and his friends' best chance for survival rests with the Namekian DragonBalls, which provide them the power to summon a mighty dragon.

Keep Goku in character and I'd watch that.

Wouldn't you think Yahoo would double-check its sources before posting incorrect information like this? :?

 That doesn't even sound like the show, let alone the live action movie. It's like they just took random elements from the show and threw them all together into a new arc.

Thing is that Watchmen is the most celebrated American graphic novel of all time. It's the comic that, with some help from Dark Knight Returns, changed the medium. It's also the movie fans have been waiting for since the rights were acquired in 1986, same time the comic came out. That and it actually looks promising compared to Moore's other graphic-novel-turned-movie, V for Vendetta, which I honestly thought was a dissapointment.

Chun Li is just another crappy video game movie that nobody is going to care about. Street Fighter hasn't been popular in the mainstream since the mid-90s. The only diehard Street Fighter fans left are the people who already know damn well how horrid this is going to be. Nothing I've seen in this trailer so much as resembles Street Fighter. Nothing. You can argue that Dragon Ball is the same, but at least there are SOME similarities, like the Gi. If you watch the Chun Li trailer without ever seeing the title you'd never think twice about it being related to Street Fighter. The filmmakers are just trying to cash in on the hype of Street Fighter IV, and I don't think it's working, as I've never once heard anybody say a word on this outside of some forum posts belittling it. Who were the fans of Street Fighter when the original live-action movie came out? Kids. I mean, it was campy crap, but it was moderately successful because, y'know, we were kids. It was bad and we didn't care. Street Fighter no longer appeals to kids because there hasn't been a Street Fighter game in 10 years, around the same time arcades died. Those kids have since grown up, and since arcades have more or less died at the dawn of the 21st century, the only fans of the franchise ARE the ones who grew up with it. You can't make a bad movie like this without kids to back it up.

Bottom line, there's a lot more comic book fans waiting for a good movie than Street Fighter fans not caring about a bad movie. But I digress...

You should know the game creator capcom had a huge hand in the production, in fact they made the decisions.

20th Century Fox is just the distributor.

Well, Konami had a huge hand in the Silent Hill movie, but that didn't stop the writer from deciding the entire cast should be female, in fact after reading the script, the producers were like "Why the fuck are there no men in this!?" and then Sean Bean's character was added. Originally she didn't have a husband, and there were no men in Silent Hill at all. To me having a female lead diminished the whole point of the movie.

Anyway, I agree, no one cares about the Chun Li movie. It's a "street fighter" movie were yet again Ryu and Ken are not main characters, in fact they are not even in it, so why should I give fuck.
