Check it out people! Big Bad Toy Store has dropped the price of the Vegeta Figuarts due to it being released domestically!

Re: Mike's Upcoming JPNS Toy Releases Thread
Well I got my figures early, and they look pretty good. My only complaints are that there are some minor scuffs, and Goku is leaning noticeably forward while Luffy is leaning noticeably backwards. The boxes look legit too. What do you think?

Definitely knockoffs. The paint is off, the real figures don't have those awkward leans, no legit figure should have scuffs new out of the box, and the dead give away..... No gold toei sticker on the front of the box. See that little rectangle on the front face of the package with the dotted outline? It should be right there... I'd make the seller give me my money back for sending me bootleg merchandise.

Re: Mike's Upcoming JPNS Toy Releases Thread
Yeah x nike got to me before I could say it, but you can tell these are knockoffs. I don't see any toei stickers on the boxes that's the largest giveaway, and scuffs and leans definitely scream bootleg. Plus the coloring on the figures looks clammy even compared to the box art itself. And leans like that aren't generally found in legit pieces, sorry you got ripped off.

It's cool. I'll see what I can do for a refund. Either way, I still think they look pretty cool and they're WAY cheaper than the real ones.

Depending on the size of the figures, you can fix the leans really easy in an hour or two if you have the room. Just throw them in a pot of boiling water, and then put them back on their stand and find a way to prop them in the direction you want, and then chuck then in the freezer...easy fix, no damage to the figure or yourself, as long as you don't reach into the pot bare handed (use tongs lol).

If you're happy with the figs that's all that matters really, yeah boots are always cheaper but the real thing is better imo

Bootlegs hold no value... the real items do.
I have a Dragon Ball collection of sorts which can be seen here.

The value is up to the individual, bootleg or not. I can go pick up a worthless shiny rock off the ground, but if someone wants to buy it because they think it looks pretty, then its suddenly worth something.Chibi Gohan wrote:Bootlegs hold no value... the real items do.

Re: Mike's Upcoming JPNS Toy Releases Thread
Valid point but, in general knock offs tend to be inferiorly made products that will end up just falling apart. It is indeed up to a buyer to decide the value of an item but... I don't like the fact that many buyers are mislead into buying bootlegs by unscrupulous sellers.

You could also say that if not many bootlegs were made of a figure, a bootleg could become valuable as a sort of "custom".

Re: Mike's Upcoming JPNS Toy Releases Thread
I'll be honest: I LOVE bootlegs.
And by bootlegs, I mean crap like this:

Not bootlegs that are based on existing figures that are meant to trick people into thinking they’re real.
I mean, just LOOK AT IT. It's so ... ugly. I love 'em.
Anyway, good luck getting a refund batistabus.

My one and only favourite bootleg is the SSJ4 Homer...

It seems to be the same guy that has all of these though... , lol and I love how it's a "rare Mexican type", trolololololololo.

Re: Mike's Upcoming JPNS Toy Releases Thread
Well, I ended up settling for a half refund along with being able to keep the figures. So, I guess that's pretty good. I probably could've pushed more, but I'm lucky the seller was willing to do that.
Edit: And the boiling/freezing technique worked great! Thanks everyone for your help.
