Its most likely gonna be January but I heard a nasty rumor that GT is airing instead first.

If it does, I'm gonna lose my mind.

I'm going to hate GT forever if it does.

That would explain the lack of promotion from Toonami and Funimation.

We'll have to wait over a year for Buu if that happens.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

That really makes no sense at all though

Why would they air GT either Before the arc that proceeds it, or before the series currently cementing it's place as Non-Canon

That aside, I recall Nick getting a decent amount of backlash when they chose to air it after Kai's initial run, I would never see the new Toonami doing it

It just sounds like some kind of bad joke

I mean, I can definitely see Toonami doing something weird with Christmas so that The first episode of the Buu arc doesn't end up airing on Christmas, a day when viewership is potentially at its lowest, but nothing with GT

Unless, and admittedly this is a mostly baseless stretch, they plan to air the Path to Power film to bridge that gap
It's art style is at least something I can see someone confusing for GT, and I really can't imagine Toonami would go for the actual GT special

I love it; I finally stumble on something relevant here and the site dies for like half an hour

Apparently someone brought this up to Jason Demarco on twitter yesterday
His response was "If it didn't come from me or Toonami's Facebook, never believe anything you read" (https://www.twitter.com/Clarknova1/stat ... 1835674625)

So that should put concern about GT to rest
Now we just still have to worry about super

Ah few, I am not worried about Super too, Sean more or less confirmed there is an edited dub so that means not on Toonami.

Interestingly, Toonami announced a new Series of Gundam replacing IBO today, it starts 7th January.
Thing is, there will be 3 weeks between IBO finishing, and the new Series starting.
Could they be planning a Kai marathon? finish Cell, and jump straight into the Buu Arc?.

Doubt it
Only time they've ever marathoned new episodes is if they're loosing the rights to a show

They'll probably be dropping One Punch Man; it's been in reruns at the end of the block for a while

Edit: Scratch that about Dropping OPM
Misread your post and thought it said that IBO and the new series would be airing simultaneously for three weeks, not that there was a gap of three weeks
My bad

I've been a little skeptical about this but it just occured to me Sean did say "you will only see things like that on TV"
If it were hypothetical like I've been thinking, I think he would have said "you would"
Granted it's easy enough to mix up words but considering schemmel has already had the scripts for the first couple episodes at least by now, I think it's more certain

Toonami US announced their next new addition, and it isn't Kai.

Granted, I think this show is taking the Iron-Blooded Orphans timeslot, but if Toonami is already announcing January acquisitions, it's odd that they wouldn't announce Kai (or Super).

Toei Animation just tweeted (tweet link below) that they have big news coming about the US English dub of Dragon Ball Super.

Please don't air on Toonami.... if Buu Kai isn't going straight on after Cell, I'm not going to be happy :(

I added the link above, it's the Funimation one, Bang Zoom isn't for the US market.

I know this is REALLY stretching it, but I hope they will announce a TV Deal. Since Funimation would be the ones expected to release the cast and crew and so on. Toei wouldnt announce anything out of the ordinary if they just said "THE EXACT SAME CAST AS ALWAYS!".

This is what I'm expecting. It will probably be what channel the Funimation dub will air on and perhaps a premier date. I have no doubt Super won't be on Toonami, at least not until they've finished broadcasting Kai 2.0. Funimation and TOEI will want to squeeze just a little more money out of Kai before moving on as there is still some to be made based on its current ratings.
Do you have any info about international non-English broadcasts about the Dragon Ball anime or manga translations/editions? Please message me. Researching for a future book with Dragon Ball scholar Derek Padula

I think it would be stretching it to say it's anything but an airing location

There's really not much else Toei could announce worth getting people hyped up for

It's like you said, the only other thing /to/ announce aside from that is the cast, and, aside from most of what was changed in kai (18 withstanding apparently) it's the same as it has been for around 16 years

Speaking of, apparently FUNi put out the cast announcement for Super already

If their blog's time stamps are central time, it was around ten minutes ago

Looks like Kid Trunks' Xenoverse actress is taking over as of super

Guess that possibly makes this series her last work for the character

Welp, there goes that confirmation about the Censored dub

Turns out they just make one in case, and not even the Voice actors are sure if it'll be used
