Krillin's part seems disappointing. So that's why he's injured in the preview I suppose?!
Seems like just another reason for more jokes and memes.

Reminds me of Baba's palace tournament.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

What exactly is Toriyama's role in the development of Super? I believe he wrote the scripts for BoG and RoF correct? (Or rather, heavily edited the draft of BoG that Toei gave him) Is his involvement with Super less or more than with the films?

According to my 10+ years of Japanese fluency, this card is confirming that Krillin has surpassed Vegeta and Whis in power. Pretty cool stuff.

Vegeta learns Whis is Beers' teacher and is shocked. Vegeta gets told that he might surpass Goku if he controls his Ki and Vegeta asks Whis to train him, "but?".

Kuririn reminisces about the time he trained with Goku, wants to know how much stronger he is now and asks Goku to hit him.

Think about it though... casual strikes from Goku's current level could put a Super Saiyan 3 down for the count. Krillin > Majin Buu confirmed.

He gives Toie the story's draft and character designs.

Hmm, that's not really a whole lot of involvement than is it? Finer touches on characterization and humor are in Toei's hands. By 'draft' you mean just a general plot outline and not the full script, right?

As far as we know, that's correct. Also as far as we know, he isn't working on anything prior to the Universe 6 material. So the Beerus Arc and Golden Freeza Arc are likely completely in Toei's hands.

They're giving him the same credits he had in BoG. The most we know is that Toriyama came up with a "thick plot" for Super, which sounds like more than a plot idea.
We don't know the extent of that, but from the time it was announced and his words, it seems to be an on-going collaboration, instead of a "here's an idea, do what you want now". Obviously, a full script would be impossible - who writes a long running anime by himself? If we wanna apply roles, his' would be what is usually called by head writer or "series composition".

I am sorry, i got so excited that I did not bother to look the previous pages. Interesting stuff, although I already knew most of it by just looking at the preview except the Vegeta finding out that Whis is beerus's trainer.

Toriyama said that "I’ve written a strange new story where they finally depart from this universe". To me it sounds like that he has a big part of the Universe 6 saga. While the retelling of BOG and ROF are done by 100% Toei. Toriyama was probably like "Just retell the last two movies while I still work on new story ideas. Enjoy!'.

RE: Toriyamas involvement in Super.

I think that Toei send the episode script to Toriyama and he might make the odd change to it if he feels there's something missing. I feel like I've read something before that said Toei used to send the early GT scripts to Toriyama, but he didn't do anything to them based on other quotes he's made. So I imagine the same thing's happening with Super, but with Toriyama seeming to like DB now he would actually be willing to make the odd change.

Hopefully this is touched up on in the future.

Anyone who says anything about Toriyama's involvement is talking out of their ass, intentionally or otherwise. We know next to literally nothing.

The best we have is that Toriyama is indeed responsible for the underlying story of the upcoming Universe 6 arc and its character designs, which he specifically said in a quote relayed during the "Complete Showcase Event".

Beyond that though... everything else is speculative-extrapolation. There's no concrete information on whether or not he provided any story changes, suggestions, etc. for the Battle of Gods re-telling and the upcoming Freeza re-telling. Anyone saying he did or did not provide any input/designs/story/etc. there is not relaying any factual information to you.

Maybe he did. Maybe he didn't. We don't know.

The absence of evidence is not evidence, and vice versa of whatever that is!

“Dragon Ball Super” is a complete continuation of the Majin Buu story arc. It’s got a bit of post-battle aftermath, continues with the “Battle of Gods” arc where the God of Destruction Beerus appears and the “Revival of ‘F'” arc where Freeza comes back to life, and then, I’ve written a strange new story where they finally depart from this universe. They’re fighting against their neighbors, Universe 6! They’ll yell at me if I give away too many spoilers, so I’ll keep the rest a secret, but they’re chasing after giant Super Dragon Balls; I think things will unfold in a bright and simple way, that will be really fun and exciting!

Since it’s another universe, loads of new characters will turn up. I’ll do my best to draw the tons of character designs necessary, so I’m looking forward to this too.

You know, it suddenly occurs to me that somewhere along the line the Dragon Ball anime has become quite a huge story. Since I’m the guy who drew the thing, it’s a bit weird for me to say this, but when I first started out I never dreamed it would have a universe as a setting (laughs). Don’t worry though, it’s still going to be the same sort of easy-to-understand content as always. Please be sure to watch Dragon Ball Super on TV!
It's just an assumption. He had already written Battle of Gods and Resurrection "F", so why would he waste his time rewriting them when he has other stuff he needs to work on for the series' production? That's what his original comment about the series makes it sound like as well. He doesn't mention having written all of Super (I don't mean as a script or anything). He notes what the content of the series will be, and then only mentions his writing for the Universe 6 material and that he will also be doing the character designs for said arc. So Toei handling the retellings while he works on the new stuff seems like the most logical answer, but of course none of us fans know anything for certain.

Excuse me for cutting in, but it was my understanding that Toriyama /didn't/ actually directly write Battle of Gods. He supervised production and asked for occasional changes, other than that his biggest sway in that movie was the designs. It's RF that he had a lot more direct control. It was his first actual script, per Toriyama himself.

In my opinion, I believe these changes in DB Super are totally from Toriyama. Toei, for one, wouldn't keep people this in-character. And they CERTAINLY wouldn't have downplayed the amount of damage Vegeta managed to do to Beerus, OR had Beerus bag on King Vegeta for murdering people for a pillow on top of screwing him over.
