Okay, so is there or is there not a mode for leveling up a character? All the 'info' is so vague...

Has anyone else noticed most of the Drama Pieces use the exact same animation for each character? It's almost like Budokai 1 where each character had the same (Well, there were 1 or 2 variations) attack animation for some of their moves.

Then by the time Budokai 2 and 3 had come around there was a little more variation between everyone, I wonder if the same will happen here?

"Kaio-Ken" (or "Kaiou-Ken" or "Kaiô-Ken" or any variant). Despite the dub's mis-pronunciation (further amusing since they pronounce "Kai" correctly), even they spell it as "Kaio-Ken".

Certainly looking forward to reviewing the game...
Sorry 'bout that VegettoEX. It sounds like that and I forgot how to really spell it.

Ok, having owned this game for a day, here's my breif summary.
Yes, the fighting system IS awesome. Yes, the graphics ARE pretty damn impressive. But they just got pretty fucking lazy.
Check out the alternate costumes, pallette swaps galore. And you'll find (even though they're IN cutscenes), a lot of characters weren't playable.
I also find that, they got lazy on A LOT of these cutscenes, using the intro's from a lot of matches in the cutscenes. Budokai's cutscenes, I'm afraid, have still not been surpassed.
Oh, there's my other gripe with this game, intro's. On the first 3 games, a specific character (Say, Goku) would have a special line of dialouge for another character (Vegeta). In this, they just.. fight, for no reason, Goku's intro with Kuririn MAY BE him kicking the shit out of him, or it may be them having a little mid-air struggle Its random, and after SO much Dimps have given us, its just a shame they dropped the ball when it came to the fan service in this game, 'cause lets face it, a Dragonball game is aimed at the fans, therefore, fan service is pretty damn important.
This game, in my eyes, is NOT better than Budokai 3, which had SO many things over this game. This really is the kind of thing I'd expect Spike to pump out, in terms of quality, though other peoples opinions will differ, I'm giving it a 7/10.
Its.. good, not great. Just good.

How dare people have a different opinion from your own!
It simply must mean they have sex with their own mothers!

Yahoo! Burst Limit arrives in about 2 or so hours.
It's just a shame I have to go to work for 11 hours before I can play it. :?

For anybody who's interested, the game runs at 30fps, which kinda annoys me, since we've HAD 60fps games before (the whole Budokai series, even the PSP ones).
EDIT: Though I'm bitching about this game a lot, the cutscenes that ARE good, are VERY good. the Goku Super Saiya-Jin, and Gohan SSJ2, and even the Goku and Vegeta beam struggle, they're all very impressive, also, I like how liniar the story mode is, because I think its safe to say we're all sick of playing through it over and over. Its straight forward, you can skip the crappy cutscenes (you know which ones are gonna suck), and its relativly short.

I stood at my local Asda from around 23:50 waiting to get it. The guy just stood behind the counter staring at me, but refused to sell it till midnight. I've went through the sagas already, it's a really good game, I love the fighting system, and pleased that it's nothing like Sparking, so pleased.

Problem being, it seems so short. It reminds me so much of when I got Budokai 1. I love how you can change the language to Japanese though, i've had a fun day playing! :D

I just can't wait untill the next one!!

This makes me curious, how many fps does "Super Dbz" run at? I recall it moving at a different pace than the others.
On hiatus.

Aren't games in PAL format slower than those in the U.S/JP? Burst Limit doesn't look 30 FPS.

That was a very very long time ago. And the graphics are nice and blur-fest and pretty, but, the framerate is still 30fps.

I'm pretty sure Super DBZ was 60, I may be mistaken, but that game ran very smoothly.

Right now I'm at Freeza vs Vegeta, and I'm just blasting through to get all the characters so I can have me some versus mode fun on Xbox Live.

The Drama Pieces are kinda neat, but there doesn't seem to be much in the way of content in this game, but hey! The Versus mode is meant to be the meat of the gameplay.

Fighting system is pretty damn fun, gotta love those mega crushes!

I got it today. But I had no idea it was even released yet, just stumbled onto it in Gamestop. I never even go to Gamestop usually. Its fun, but is there any other version of Goku's clothes other than the Kame symbol? Also, the english dub is really weird. The lip syncing sucks ass. And Sean Schemmel is saying stuff like "Kaio-ken" and "I am Son Goku" (not that I mind).

Also, don't get your hopes up.
Super Saya-Jin Goku 2...
Sakurai, step down, you are the king of trolls no more.. I'm so pissed off right now.

YES, I NOTICED THIS!!
Today was the FIRST time I ever heard Sean Schemmel say " Son Goku ".
My jaw really dropped, I needed to pause the game, and think " .. Its late.. maybe I'm tired... but did Sean just say Son Goku!? ".
