Was just wondering VegettoEX or anyone else who might know if we're going to get anymore episode titles revealed for november, as we did with October? Just saw we got those on the 9th of october so I'll probably have to wait at least a week.

That is true. However there is a difference in showing something later, and not showing it at all.FutureGohanSSJ2 wrote: Dragon Ball is /full/ of off-screen power-ups. We never saw how Goku became SS2/3, or how Vegeta became a SS2. We also didn't see in the manga how Vegeta became a SS, and we only saw Gohan during his 1st time as a SS, but not how he became one. We also never saw how Future Gohan, Future Trunks, Goten, and Trunks became SS, we never saw how Vegeta became SSG2, we never saw how Future Trunks became SSG2/3, and we never saw Gotenks becoming a SS on his own & a SS3. Basically, the manga only showed us SS Goku, SSG2/3 Goku, SS2 Gohan, and SS Vegetto.Sodhi wrote:That is true. James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

I am not talking about seeing how someone becomes something, because those transformations are not as hard to swallow as the god form. I am talking about seeing the achieved form later down the road. In case of ssjg vegeta, if they skipped that form, we will never see it down the road and will probably never know how he achieved it.DBZGTKOSDH wrote: We never saw how Goku became SS2/3, or how Vegeta became a SS2. I think the implication based on the last episode is that Vegeta never actually got SSJGod. Whis' ki control training somehow just gives him a power on the level of the one that Goku got from absorbing the SSJ God power (remember, after being absorbed it became just standard ki too according to Super). Of course, there might be something else to it introduced next week, but at this point that's what the script indicated.Sodhi wrote:I am not talking about seeing how someone becomes something, because those transformations are not as hard to swallow as the god form. Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
I think the real difference is in whether or not we at least know how they achieve it? Like, with most SSJ forms, it's something you can naturally reach on your own, and so we can easily believe when, given a few years, a certain character goes off and does it (sometimes, like with SSJ Vegeta, we get a bit of dialogue talking about the specifics of how it happened). If Vegeta has god-power with no explanation beyond "training", that directly clashes with what we have previously learned about it, which is that they have to do this special ritual that requires 5 other saiyans and so on and so forth (and that unlike the other forms it's explicitly not something you can just go out and do if you reach deep inside yourself or whatever).
Basically while I'd love to see it, it's fine if we don't as long as they at least join the dots to the extent that we're not left going, "How the hell did he do that?!"

The only question I have is, how was Whis able to change vegeta's Ki to god ki. Other than that, I am pretty happy with your explanation.Neon Z wrote: I think the implication based on the last episode is that Vegeta never actually got SSJGod. Don't that "Learn how to control his Ki" thing feels like a completely bullsh** to you guys? I mean... F**k! Didn't Goku and the other Z-Senshi had already learned this skill a long time ago? I always though that Ki Control was basically something like that (Scan site URL removed by moderator)
Now is a excuse to Vegeta get huge gains in terms of power achieving the God-tier? Like what the hell... Couldn't Whis be more specific? I think that "learning how to control your Ki" is pretty vague, IMO

The most complex things they ever learned was how to hide or rise it, though, and no one ever schooled them specifically about ki, Vegeta in particular never had a master. Before Namek, he spent his whole life without being able to even sense it, having no knowledge about ki. If there is someone among the main characters who would be a little rough around the edges in that regard, the most logical choice would be Vegeta.Noah wrote:Don't that "Learn how to control his Ki" thing feels like a completely bullsh** to you guys? That said, you're talking like Whis will never mention it again or be more clear, when there's time for him to come back to it.
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
Too soon to call the ki thing bullshit. We have no idea what Whis means. In ROF we at least hear one of his lessons is to be able move without thinking...or something like that as it slows you down. I forget what he said, but I think it was something like that. We might get that lesson again too...and that....other thing I made a huge joke about too but eh...
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

Yes, If they couldn't ki control how can they fly and not destroying the whole earth something like that isn't it.Noah wrote:Don't that "Learn how to control his Ki" thing feels like a completely bullsh** to you guys? He did episode 2,6, 11,12,13,14. According to my estimate his next episode should be episode 20 or 21.Chuquita wrote:*Holding out hope for more King Ryû scripts.*

He's decent but I felt he petered out towards the end of the BoG arc. I am really liking this fellow who has done the past 3 episodes would be curious to see what his main resurrection "F" plot scripts will be like.Chuquita wrote:*Holding out hope for more King Ryû scripts.*

Yeah, Yoshifumi Fukushima had produced three really good episodes in a row so far, and I really hope he stays for the long haul through the Resurrection F arc.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:He's decent but I felt he petered out towards the end of the BoG arc. I have admittedly enjoyed the past 3 episodes' Gokû. I want to see how Fukushima writes a Gokû and Vegeta episode and will find out this weekend.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:He's decent but I felt he petered out towards the end of the BoG arc. Also, I want to to see how he writes a battle with a less rushed animation team.

Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
If there is a way to reach God-level powers without rituals, then it opens up opportunities for the other characters to catch up, which is always a good thing. Nonetheless, Universe 6 will surely have a lot of people in those reigns of power.
I have a feeling that Whis and Vados' race might have something to do with the way the Universes are created/divided, maybe they're the ones that came up with the "ki" system for living beings and that would make sense as to how Whis can advise vegeta on how to reach their level of power on his own and eventually reach SSGSS.-
Also, I find it intriguing that the new movies and Super brought new concepts/abilities to the series. God ki, God ritual, absorbing Godhood, new stages, nullifying ki, etc. And a lot of it tends to be ambiguously explained. We never had so many doubts about power in this series, have we?

Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
It's clear that their ki control had limits though, so I don't think it's that odd. If they could just freely control all the ki inside themselves, stuff like potential unlocking or rage boosts wouldn't exist since all that power is inside them already.Noah wrote:Don't that "Learn how to control his Ki" thing feels like a completely bullsh** to you guys? However, I hope we learn more in the upcoming episodes, rather than just leaving it vague like that.
