Seems a bit odd how only one person is reporting this.
And it is their first and only post on that forum.
And they can't accurately answer if it's 4:3 or not (which we already have ridiculous confirmation on).
And says nothing else we didn't already know.
I mean, it's not like it's a huge deal or anything... just seems like a pointless thing to do...

People like to brag. I can't blame him for at least TRYING to give some sort of report on it. Now we wait and see...
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
It sounds solid enough to me, honestly. It's not too unusual to have pre-orders come in ridiculously early, and nothing he's said in particular seems to be malicious or intentionally misleading.
Granted, official or otherwise widespread confirmation is definitely better, but I don't really see anything that makes it seem like the guy is lying for the sake of it or anything like that.

I'm really psyched for this! I have wanted to own the first uncut episodes for ever. I'm glad FUNimation is doing this.

I'll be glad to finally see the first 13 with the current cast. And of course the chance to see the original Japanese as well. I have only seen DBZ and part of GT in Japanese.

You know, it's like I want to get these Season Sets, especially the first one... but I feel like I need to wait because you never know if FUNi will pull a "HOLY CRAP THIS IS MASTER ROSHI HERE FOR DRAGONBALL DRAGONBOX!!!!!!!!!! BOOOOOOBIES PAFU PAFU" you know?

I think Tom Dubois of "The Boondocks" said it best for me when FUNimation announced the release of the domestic Dragonbox, after buying all of the Season Sets: "MOTHERFUCK!!! SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT, PRICKS, SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIIIIIIIT!"

I'm not buying all of them for that reason. But I am geting the first two and the last one.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

Thing is, how much better could the DBox be than DB season sets? The only things I can think of are the TV safety specials and the second opening. We don't know how the video looks on these yet, but we might infer from the GT release that it'll be slightly blurred.

I'm sure the people holding off simply want the best it could possibly be, I know I do. Also, I would want a Dragon Ball Dragon Box simply to have it go with the other Dragon Box collections.

I'd like for all the next episode previews.

There'll also be reduced jitter in the Dboxes. Don't forget about the jitter.

Yeah... I'm waiting simply because... I've made this mistake before...
Rin: "Oh, I should DEFINITELY get the DBZ Season Sets, it's not like FUNi is EVER gonna give us DBoxes"
Otakon 2009 Happens
Rin: "FFFFFFFFFF".
I don't wana waste money on the entire series again if there's a chance we'll be getting DBoxes later.

This really does suck for me because I have 9 out of the 11 volumes for Dragonball on DVD. If I'm going to rebuy the series a second time, it has to be for a Dragonbox release.

Yeah, the Season Sets probably aren't worth it to me.
First of all the things are ugly. Granted this wouldn't matter too much to me if no other option had a chance to exist, but the early Dragon Ball Dragon Box has the best packaging of all of them and I would love to have that instead.
Secondly, my Dragon Ball money for the forseeable future is more or less tied up in the Z Dragon Boxes.
Third, original Dragon Ball is my favorite of the series. If I'm going to buy a release, it might as well be the best it can be.
I want all the eyecatchers.
I want the correct OP/ED animations.
I want the special features of a Dragon Box.
I want the treatment, the respect of a Dragon Box.
I want the default Japanese audio track of a Dragon Box.

My order on RS that has Dragonball Season 1 has shipped. Considering Right Stuf's shipping, I should be getting it this weekend.

For those of you who own the madman release of the first 13 episodes do they tone down Muten Roshi in the dub? I know in many scenes the dub gives Roshi vaguely sexual dialogue (that admittedly most of the time is actually pretty clever) I'm just wondering how they cover up things like Roshi wanting to motorboat Bulma.
Aro started to laugh. “Ha, ha, ha,” he chuckled.- Actual quote from Twilight

All I remember is he asked if she'd walk around the island with him.

Dragon Box would net both openings and all FOUR endings. Plus the previews, of course.
