Yep.
Then when Goku loses and becomse SSJ, he'll finish it off with Dragonfist.

Augh... I'm just going to pretend that's nothing, and go on blissfully thinking this movie won't have an attempt at a Super Saiya-jin...

Though, I'll say that if they really are planning for the possibility of two more movies, putting SSJ in now would be stupid. I don't speak Spanish, so I'm hoping there's something in there about 'if'.

I like the stage musicals. They are all quite different from each other, yet still good. This movie being different doesn't necessarily mean it'll be bad.
At least in that situation, most of the main characters retain their general backgrounds and personalities throughout the different continuities (with a few notable exceptions like anime Rei and tokusatsu Minako).

The changes to the characters and story in this movie sound far more drastic. I would blame it on the fact that, in the case of Sailor Moon, all of those continuities were connected and related, and each produced in Japan with knowledge and appreciation of the original story. Meanwhile, this version of Dragon Ball is being produced on an entirely different continent from the original manga, and based in a nation that had already butchered the anime's story and characters through its dubbing into English.

On that note, was it actually stated that James Wong had never read the manga (if so, where?), did someone confuse him with Chow Yun Fat, or did someone just assume that?

Most of the female characters (both lead and extras) will have unique hairstyles. Most notibly Emmy Rossum, Bulma, will wear a blue wig.
This is really disapointing to hear. I was hoping they wouldn't go the wig route for this movie. Now I wonder what the tone of this film will be like.

Will they introduce Kinto'un in the live action movie?

Also, will this be the movie version of it? A sports car?

This would be funny if Master Roshi gave this to Son Goku.

The Tone of this film? Think "Date Movie" combined with "Kung Fu Hustle". Anyway, so no one was able to go to the link I just posted and confirm if it was absoultly fake or possibly real? I can't read spanish, so I don't know the credibility of that article.. I was.. REALLY hoping one of you would have shot it down by the time I got back.

Please don't let it be true. Super Saiyan.. I mean come on, why are they butchering the story so bad. The writer and director have never even seen a single episode of the show or read a single chapter of the manga, most likely. Of course dont' quote me on that accusation, but it just seems to be the case.

Apparently, that'll be the car (most likely driven by Bulma) that'll hit Goku, who'll (apparently) be riding a bike.

Maybe he'll ride a Kinto'un brand bike.

Goku didn't appear to have a tail in the picture of him on the set, did he? Either he never had a tail, or his tail was already removed. I hope it's the latter. (Or the tail's just not visible from that angle.)
Hey, or maybe they'll add the tail later, you know like CGI or something. I think that would be the best approach to the whole tail thing. But then again I don't really think they'll give him one. But hey, we can dream can't we?

I'd be shocked if they introduced Kinto'un, Nyoi-bo, or Goku's tail.

Well, I'd like to have some reference to the tail. Maybe something like this. Chi Chi has been described as Goku's lifelong love interest. However, I've also heard that they meet at a youth festival. So, maybe their meeting could go something like:

Chi Chi: Goku! It's you isn't it? It's me, Chi Chi! Remember? We used to play together when we were kids. Hey, what happened to your tail?

Well, yeah. They'll probably reference it as being removed by Gohan when Goku was little when Piccolo brings up his Saiya-jin heritage. After all, Gohan's alive... so we can only assume Goku didn't get to step on him like he damn well should have...

LOL! As much as it is only right for it to have been accurate in Goku crushing his granpda, feels kinda bad to be groaning over it.

Is there no love for Grandpa Gohan?

He's playing Bardock in the movie, of course!

Toriyama would turn that into a penis joke for sure.

LOL, The S just made me think of something - while we may get the Kinto'un, the Nyoibo, and maybe even a perverted Roshi, I'm assuming Goku's pat-pat test is out? If so, I would be officially disappointed cuz a scene with that would make the film epic for at least that scene. 8)

It's one thing to expect that from the 12 year old monkey boy, who hasn't seen a single human being in his life with the exception of his grandfather...

But I think if an 18 year old who's gone through school, and presumably a sexual education course at some point, started patting another guy's crotch... Uh... well, they wouldn't just pass it off as 'pat-pat'...

And I would forgive at least a portion of the problems in this movie if they can get Chow Yun-fat to ask Emmy Rossum to flash her panties in exchange for a Dragonball...

And of course I like Granda Gohan! In fact, I've always been disappointed that Toriyama never reintroduced the character after Goku died and went to heaven.
But he was suppose to die! Look at it this way...
What if they were re-making the Harry Potter movies, but instead of his parents being killed my Voldemort when Harry was just a baby, they aren't killed until just before Harry goes to Hogwarts...
Now, Harry would still become famous if they had Voldemort disappear then instead of earlier... But Harry would have to be different.
Instead of being confused about the magic world, and left soft-spoken by the treatment of his aunt and uncle, he'd be an entirely new character.
Instead of growing up alone in the wild, Goku will have Gohan his entire childhood.

You can't erase the death of a parent-figure and alter the entire childhood of a person and expect them to have the same character.

That too would be truly epic. It's gotten to where I just want references or funny/pervy things to get through to at least imitate the original.

And you have a good point, but hopefully Chatwin's Goku is at least half as dense as the actual Goku.

(Raises a hand up) Um... can someone translate? Or perhaps give an example the rest of us would understand? No offense, man, but I have no idea what you just said.

I understand Misterflashdude well enough for me, but don't think I can make it any clearer for ya, The S. ^_^;

And I have to agree, it's important and they should've had him die, but I was just saying how sad is that that we demand his death. It's the whole Future Gohan in Sparking! Meteor thing again - I forget who said it on this forum, but its like 'What! What are you doing with TWO arms? You rip that off right now mister!'
