Live Action Movie Thread

OK...OKAY!

So in short, everything that we've seen so far emits a 'cheap-looking-power-rangers' effect as of now. Seriously, stop with the speeches and long explanations as to why, and how it does not emit that vibe. There's something called denial, and some of you are veering towards the edge of just that.

HOWEVER, we will not know how these Fulum warriors, or Piccolo will look in the absolute final product. As unfaithful as most of the designs look thus far, they could still turn out looking pretty good on screen with filters, and other on-screen manipulations that we will be presented forth come April.

Let us move on! Psha!

Oh, I wont deny that Piccolo's one mirrored helmet away from a mutant movie-Black Ranger (or a cowl away from an armored Batman for that matter). But I still call nonsense on the lackies.

Okay, so clearly the whole page 7 thing refers to my post.

I only mentioned that one to show how long they've been going on and why some of us have grown tired of them. After seeing over 9,000 of them, it gets old. (Meme included to prove a point.)

It's also hard to understand why it's okay to have a positive opinion on a movie you haven't seen yet, though it doesn't seem to be alright to think otherwise...

I don't have a positive opinion of the movie, I just don't have a negative one. I'm holding final judgement until I actually see it. A rather novel concept around here, it seems, but it's what I'm doing.

Yeah, give it a week and we'll have people complaining that the Kamehameha's the wrong shade of blue.

Well... there's not much else to talk about at the moment, it's another bit of a "calm after the storm" what with Piccolo's revelation.

How about discussion of the story? We've got a lot of information, it probably couldn't hurt to see what we can piece together, like I did with Piccolo a page or so back.

As the whole Piccolo fiasco is winding down, I'm wondering if anyone every brought up the fact that James Martsters himself said that Piccolo would be green and I just missed it?

That's why some of us are suspecting that the "changes" that Marsters said were in store for Piccolo will result in the green coming back. Besides, as he is now, all decrepit and pale and old, he wouldn't make for a very good hero in the sequels.

Yeah someone brought that up a while ago, I think we've all just began to cope with this situation.

As I said earlier, I won't mind a yellow Piccolo at ALL if it's used to differentiate more easily between the older Piccolo and Ma Junior.

For some reason, every time I think of how botched a live action movie could be, I think of that line that I made up a long time ago when I was trying to think of the worst possible translation without completely changing the source material.

Anyway, I am still excited for the movie, and you know what, if it turns out like power rangers, fine at least the fights will be crazy and goofy.

If Mai wasn't in the picture I'd have said that it looks like he'll get the same treatment he got in the manga. But since Mai is in the picture I'm guessing that they making up their own rules on who is an important character and Yamcha once again falls into the "minor" category.

You know, I don't think I've heard anything about adaption "Yamcha" lately. What happened to him?

EDIT: You know, it would be hilariously sad to see him get shafted when characters like Tenshinhan, Piccolo Jr, and Vegeta aren't even there to steal his thunder away in the first place. ^^;
