Personally, i think the CGI works well with the new animation.

Why would he be in the movie in the first place?

James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

The name puns have been confirmed. Both characters are played off of "virus". Read a couple pages back and you'll see posts about it.
They haven't. It's still guessing at this point.

I personally think it's based off of virus.

If both of the names are puns on "virus", what do we call them? I don't think Virus and Virus would work. I'm sure that the answer's hidden somewhere in this monster of a thread but I must have missed it.

Maybe something like...Beeris and Veeris? I have no idea how Funimation could even begin to sex up these names for an English adaptation. The Japanese pronunciation rolls off English-speaking tongue about as well as Kuririn.

Was he? I thought Popo said that he learned a lot from Kami and that Kami was even more amazing than him.
In the Saiyan arc, Popo is a great deal stronger. Kami is at 220 and Mr Popo is at 1,330.

If the pun is "virus", their names could be Birus/Vilus and Vis.

Oh, cool, Birusu spanking Gotenks (I think we hadn't seen the act itself yet, we've seen him holding Gotenks and the kid crying but not the actual spanking) :D

I'm liking Gohan's modern-glasses: http://i.imgur.com/sYENA6U.jpg
They're yellow in the movie, but on the Toriyama drawing they're brown.

I've been thinking about it, and Tao Pai Pai is the only other one that fights similar to Bills. He caught Bora's spear with two fingers and flicked him into the air like that.. he killed the tailor with a light finger poke in the forehead, he also killed General Blue just with his tongue. Now that I think about it, he also cut out that great stone pillar with two light taps.

Yeah, I imagine it'll be difficult.

I like the Birus/Vilus idea, but I'm not sure I like Vis. In my opinion, it's too removed from the pun.

Then again, maybe they could simply go with Virus (English) and Uisu (Japanese), retaining the pun and the shared meaning of their names.
