With the Extra Pack 2, a new story scenario and 4 playable characters will appear and disrupt the world of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2! In the new storyline, players will embark on Time Patrol with their Master Characters and meet a new character, Fu. He is a mysterious teenager with a ninja sword on his back. His basic attacks are often sword-based technics, however he’s also great at long-distance attacks. He looks mischievous and holds the key to this new story mode…

Free Update

The new free update will allow players to customize Dragon Ball Characters by changing skills, abilities and colors of their original attacks and costumes. For example, some character will be able to use attacks that they originally wouldn’t have been able to use! New special costumes will be also available such as the Goku’s Journey to the West and a Cross Ultimate Attack System will be added, enabling players to launch Ultimate Attacks together with another Dragon Ball character. More details to come!

Hold your horses, it says you can change the costumes, but when you look at the customize menu you see the options.

For reference when editing your custom character the option "Change Costume" and "Change Super Soul" aren't there, instead you have your costume pieces and Super Soul under Equipment. In all likelihood you have to pick from the existing costumes each character has (and whatever new ones they add) and then you can change the colors of those outfits, but not use your costume pieces.

Thats a good way of looking at it and i would almost agree but something has occurred to me. It’s says by TP medals which makes it seem like you must use medals to buy something.

Why would it cost medals to get the attacks or costume that a character already has? I think it would make more sense if the tp medals were their to be used to by costumes or attacks for the character to wear. It would at least be more creative that way too. This news has hyped people up to much for it to just be a let down of just being able to equip stuff that the character already had

True. I’d give Vegeta the pride trooper outfit, 3 of Jiren’s attacks and 3 of his own and have it be a what if type of scenario where Vegeta was the strongest of universe 11.
If the color customization for attacks isn’t a mislead then i’ll probably change Vegeta’s attacks to an orange kind of color too.

Since Avatars are getting Blue as a transformation I hope you can equip Goku and Vegeta with the transformation version of it.

It would be awesome if you could make Super Saiyan God Goku or SSJ4 Goku go Blue...

But I'm keeping my expectations to mentor customization only. But still, that would mean that Future Gohan could go Blue and thats still awesome. Or even Bardock!!!

I doubt they'd let any Saiyan Go Blue, they'd probably restrict it to Goku and Vegeta, and maybe Vegetto.

So i've sat and read scans and watched videos, and from what very limited information we have on this "partner mode", I've come up with my own personal expectations vs. my realistic expectations

Let's start real:
-Master Characters only
-Costumes are preset, based on what characters have worn in series (Goku's Journey to the West outfit, possibly his Yardrat clothes, etc.)
-Any Super or Ultimate
-Transformations depend on character (i.e why we see Super Saiyan Hercule)
-Any guess on coloring stuff

My own personal expectations:
-All characters
-Costumes selected from our CaC's costumes
-Any Super or Ultimate
-Transformations based on Race of character (Saiyans get Super Saiyan, Humans get Power Pole, Frieza and Cooler get Turn Golden, etc.)
-Again, any guess on color

I'm super hyped for it, but remaining realistically optimistic about it. Hopefully coming scans will elaborate more on this mode next month.

EDIT: Having gone and counted, there are 33 Masters in game out of 100 (soon to be 104) characters. That's a third of the roster that's going to become customizable to some extent

I guess it is very possible that you can only customize Mentor characters, but at the very least there are a lot of Mentors.
I expect you to not be able to use your Avatar clothing on the characters, just premade costumes.
Hopefully we get plenty of new costumes.

I wouldn't expect it, I think transformations will be restricted to the ones that character has used.
