I don't remember if Kai kept that, but in Z, we see frog Ginyu joining Dr. Brief's collection of animals from what I recall.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Ginyu is also on top of Yamcha's head when he gets wished back.

I don't think the manga really showed Ginyu, but the wish was for everyone on Namek, except for Goku and Freeza, to be brought to Earth...so unless something had since happened and they'd died, presumably that would mean the Ginyu frog and the frog in Ginyu's body...and presumably any other remaining animals living on the planet, come to think of it.

Missing from this saga is Guarana. I believe episode 19 could see Sorbet's #2 man wiped out by Champa when looking for the large-sized Dragon Balls. Sorbet and Tagoma are going to Earth themselves.

I'm not convinced we'll see Guarana in the anime. We could, but it could also have just been Toyotaro taking some extra liberties with the Champa material.

Aw. :( That is always unfortunate.

I don't like One Piece enough where it would feel like a fair trade-off when this stuff happens. Precure yes, One Piece no.
Darn it! I really wish that One Piece end soon (I can dream), so Dragon Ball can get a better/top treatment by TOEI

One Piece ending won't improve the quality of Dragon Ball in any dramatic sense. One Piece isn't even a high-quality series. PreCure is the one series at Toei Animation that attracts good staff who bend over backwards to make it good, which is especially evident going by Go! Princess PreCure Episode #39 (08 November 2015).

Why does PreCure get so much love? One Piece and Dragon Ball are Toei's biggest licenses, are they not?

People want to work on PreCure. Go! Princess PreCure has Tanaka Yuuta as its series director. Tanaka is a young director who is a huge fan of the franchise and has been climbing the ranks of the franchise since he began working on it. Studio Live animator Itaoka Nishiki is a big fan of the franchise, too, so much so that he even draws fan art in his spare time. It's the only series he will work on at this point. Fujii Shingo and Ota Kazuhiro have also been recent mainstays of Go! Princess PreCure. Before them there was Tanaka Hironori and Ootsuka Takashi. Tanaka loved the franchise so much he produced an incredible number of scenes for it. Ootsuka directed the franchise's best movies. The list of talent involved with the franchise goes on, all because they like the series or have connections with those deeply involved with it.

Nobody becomes an animator in Japan for the money, they do it for the things they love. In this case it's cute girls and fight scenes.

Oh what a shame. Well then, so TOEI need to hire animators who have more commitment and love for the a worldwide franchise that is Dragon Ball, I bet they could find a lot.

How many of them are good? How many of them are willing to work on a weekly schedule?

Just because Dragon Ball is popular in the outside world it doesn't mean it is entitled to anything.

PreCure sells a lot of toys for girls under the age of 12 in Japan. One Piece is probably Toei's biggest seller animation wise, but Kamen Rider and Super Sentai one of their biggest money maker overall. Kamen Rider is Bandai's second biggest seller next to Gundam.

Do we know if they corrected anything in regards to the art or animation? I assume that if any fixes take place, it will be episode 5, but it's still nice to know if they touch upon any of the other episodes.

I know, I just like making these comparisons. Would really love for Mitsuishi Kotono to lend her voice to a (recurring) Dragon Ball character.

I don't know. This talk is to Toei HR Department.

How is not entitled to anything? Dragon Ball is a huge franchise that still makes a lot of money since the end of its serialization, it should be treated better and with the respect that we fans deserve. We shouldn't accept anything crappy just because it has "Dragon Ball" logo in the title, no! We deserve a series with great quality for a great franchise that is Dragon Ball.
