Did you buy the first Budokai? And then did you buy Budokai 2? And then did you buy Budokai 3? How about Infinite World?

How about the Sparking series? Did you buy Budokai Tenkaichi 1? And then did you buy Budokai Tenkaichi 2? And then did you also buy Budokai Tenkaichi 3?

Then you bought unfinished games, and you bought DLC before it was delivered digitally.

As has already been described, your understanding of actual modern game development is so out of whack from reality that it's almost impossible to have a discussion with you -- you're lacking the broadest of even a baseline understanding of facts, and are instead projecting opinions and feelings based on scenarios you've entirely created in your head out of whole cloth.

The ONLY dlc characters that should ever have a price are either guest characters or characters and forms that premiere AFTER the game releases...
So you're expecting 250 characters at launch with no DLC? It's very easy for DLC to be a scummy practice, but the base game has the most characters of a Dragon Ball game ever, and it encompasses all of Z/Super. Of course they have to include Super in the base game instead of GT/Z movies because it's the latest hotness and it SELLS. /quote]
Super sells so well they cancelled the anime, don't adapt nor make merchandise of the post anime-manga characters. They made a single movie 2 years back and since then didn't produce any animated content regarding Super.
Instead of adapting more of the manga or announcing a new movie, Toei goes into a whole new direction with Daima.

The latest hotness and sells..

Toei doing that is a whole other can of worms. Toriyama wanted to work on Daima for the 49th anniversary and other than the SUPER hero Manga arc Super has been doing well in earnings.

Sparking Zero was always going to be Super and Z heavy.

Is the end of a series necessarily a cancellation? 131 episodes is a healthy run. I don’t recall it ever being stated that the series ended due to not doing well.

I have to say though, I don’t know how to interpret the sentence “a single movie 2 years back and since then didn’t produce any animated content” other than being written to sound way worse than it is. There was also Super Broly which did extremely well a few years prior. That’s two successful movies produced, but I guess that doesn’t fit the narrative. What are you saying…? A single film in two years? How many movies would you expect over the course of two years exactly? :? :?

Again, it’s a business. Surely folks don’t believe they’re designing the game to spite you at the expense of profit? Of course Super did well, otherwise they wouldn’t focus on it so heavily. If they had focused on Z movies/GT instead, people would complain about the lack of Super. Either way a segment of the fandom is going to be mad about whatever.

Broly was indeed succesful as well. What I meant is that there hasn't been much animated Super activity since the Super Hero movie. No big effort to do anything with the brand at all.

And while I wasn't the biggest Super fan I am glad for the inclusion of Super characters in video game since at the very least, they can look cool and be fun to play as. (At least they were in FighterZ)

We as DB fans have been spoiled with great and large rosters so it makes it harder for newer games to entice the gamer. FighterZ had awesome graphics and a lot of individuality to their character animations.

Sparking Zero seems to have a bit less of that, which isn't that strange considering the huge roster. It would be great and fresh to see some new characters as well. Perhaps what if characters or some of the SDBH characters. Would love to see SSJ4 Vegito for example but I feel like SDBH characters are somehow off limit to games like these.

Anyone notice how in the Vegeta and Goku demo, some of Goku's voice clips are from Budokai 3? Not a big deal just something i noticed.

Yeah, people have noticed it since the first trailer I believe, especially since Goku said "Kayoken". It is peculiar that they seem to be reusing old voice lines, but at least they've recorded a bunch of new ones.

Wonder if we're able to input custom dialogue in the custom battles mode?
It's an interesting idea for sure.

Weird how you cannot pick characters at the same time during offline multiplayer.

The create a story option looks like it has a ton of potential and is probably what’s gonna keep the game alive the longest.

I know folks are bummed about the local multiplayer thing but I honestly think it’s for the best.. plus in the modern era how many of us are actually still getting together with others consistently enough for it be a priority in a casual game like this? Could they given one or two more stage options for local play? Sure, I guess but the juice doesn’t seem worth the squeeze when it’ll harm the visuals which is one of the major selling points.
It's not too late. One day, it will be.

The last few times I've gotten together to play with friends, I was bummed due to them not being as seasoned as me (at any given game) because they either don't have the console, the game or even care about videogames anymore, making the experience similar to playing with your dad or your mom back when no way a parent would know how to handle a joystick.
Nowadays, game controls are harder to grasp than before, you don't get then hang of them after a while, shit, it's been 7 years and I still can't get the hang of FighterZ, lol.

I guess it sucks for the younger generations that do play on a regular basis, but I wonder if online gaming hasn't replaced the older ritual of actually getting together.

Probably, but it looks that it's not voiced. Which makes sense.

And why isn't a new generation of kids allowed to experience the same thing we did when we were young? Why must developers deprive them of such fun?
It's not like kids don't have siblings these days or anything

The visuals of this game aren't really that breathtaking either, I've definitely seen better.

I'm pretty sure that dialogue being customized will be limited to hundreds of lines that are ready to use, just being able to insert names from a list to the player's liking. The rightholders already keep a close eye when the devs make things like the story mode, saying "Freeza would never say something like this" or "Goku would not behave like that" according to Fighterz devs if I remember correctly.

So they're not about to let players put nasty things in their popular characters' mouth, and they are probably not going to waste resources on watching and censoring dialogues made up by players when they can just limit the dialogues to what's acceptable from the get-go. I think it will be a large choice of preset lines that fit Dragon Ball and have no risk of offensing anyone theoretically.

For example, on the picture posted above, you can see a line "It's been a while since we've had a real fight, Mr. Satan" with the name "Mr. Satan" being written in yellow. My guess is that you'll basically have access to a line that says "It's been a while since we've had a real fight, [choose a name in the list]". and that's how you'll customize dialogues, with hundreds of preset lines like "What do you want from me?" "You're going to pay for this!" "I'm way stronger than you", "I'm not as strong as you", "This is gonna be an exciting battle", "This is gonna be a boring battle", etc...

Just a guess though.

Apparently some keen eyes spotted Zarbon, Dabura, Spopovich, and Kid Goku in the background of the story mode where all the gameplay shots are floating around. Also, the custom mode mentions the Galactic Patrol, so that probably confirms Jaco as well.

Chiaotzu confirmed! And Gero too! He looks great, even if it's just a thumbnail.

The custom battle sounds interesting - it's basically a glorified vs mode, but you can't help but admire the options.

Really like what I'm seeing!
