Yes, it is. The way Freeza is punching Goku is really unatural, his hand is badly drawn and Goku looks like a tube man. It lacks impact.ArchedThunder wrote:Uh, what? There's nothing wrong with that shot.

But they did do him justice, those were some amazing expressions with hits that looked like it really packed a lot.
That Freeza transformation tho... with that transformation sequence they already surpassed the whole RF.

Great transformation aside but what a total waste of Karasawa, smh yet we have Kitano opening the ToP... okay then.

Episode 94
Animation Supervisors
Paul Ano-nuevo
Eugene Ayson
Karasawa Yuichi
Key Animators
Hoshino Mamoru
Washikita Kyouta
Annoura Tatsuya
Miuma Kenji
Karasawa Yuichi
Kato Yoshitaka
TAP
2nd Key Animators
Yokoyama Miyuki
Mura Shuntaro
Yong-ce Tu

Pretty nice and polished, as expected. Miyako Tsuji corrected the large majority of the first half, as expected with TAP episodes.
Karasawa's art was pretty much entirely on point. His shading is truly something else. So many beautiful shots throughout. The detail he puts into hands alone is enough to keep me happy!
That ending, though. Wew. Powerful stuff! Not super crazy in terms of animation, but you had a nice little bit of background animation and some rotations.
Strange NEP. Will have to see that a few more times in HD to really get to grips with it! A cut towards the start was Tate-esque, but everything else looks alien to me, outside of the Ide corrections.

Karasawa is probably going to be given a more important episode in the ToP.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:Great transformation aside but what a total waste of Karasawa, smh yet we have Kitano opening the ToP... okay then.

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 93
Nah, it's a good using of him. He'll probably supervise episode 100 or 101, and the opening of the ToP doesn't need a good supervisor, just great key animators. Kitano will always handle the big episodes, because that way his touch won't be significant and he's out for about 5 or 6 weeks. That's why he was on episodes 1, 13, 39, 57 and that's why he'll be on 97.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:Great transformation aside but what a total waste of Karasawa, smh yet we have Kitano opening the ToP... okay then.
Karasawa, however, won't get a lot of good key animators, so he needs time. Doing half an episode just before the tournament is the best idea they had, so he has more time to do his things for the ToP.

I do hope they gave him this episode as a "get back in the swing of things" sort of thing.ArchedThunder wrote:Karasawa is probably going to be given a more important episode in the ToP.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:Great transformation aside but what a total waste of Karasawa, smh yet we have Kitano opening the ToP... okay then.
Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 93
That transformation was so amazing I am not at all ashamed to say I think it's the best villain one in the series. The only one coming close is Freeza turning to his fourth form back on Namek.
The rest looked on point too, but man... That scene alone destroys most of RoF, both arc and movie! There's probably no better way they could bring the bastard back.

The Karasawa bit feels almost last second. I was beginning to wonder if he would be showing up at all. I hope this wasn't just a temporary return and he will be working on the Tournament of Power, too.

Hoshino Mamoru returns after being gone since episode 50.
Washikita Kyouta is new to Super, can't find any info on them.
Annoura Tatsuya is new to Super, has worked heavily on Pokemon.

He's a big mech guy from the looks of things.ArchedThunder wrote:Washikita Kyouta is new to Super, can't find any info on them.
It appears he's worked with Toei on some One Piece stuff in the past.

An'noura Tatsuya is from Studio Cockpit, I believe. He worked with Iwane Masa'aki a lot, back when Iwane would act as an animation supervisor without doing all of the key animation for an episode. If An'noura sticks around I hope he would try to get Iwane to work on the series.

Maybe he'll show up on an episode with Otsuka and they will animate some of the robo warriors.Ajay wrote:He's a big mech guy from the looks of things.ArchedThunder wrote:Washikita Kyouta is new to Super, can't find any info on them.

Apparently he did some KA too unless this is different Washikita Kyouta.

Karasawa is just unreal when it comes to the detail in his art.

Would love to see him given the time to produce a scene where he can actually animate some beautiful movement and throw in the same level of detail.

There were a few shots where his faces looked a little off, but overall he really delivered. This episode has sooooo much polished art from him that is far beyond anything he did previously on Super, I'm so happy.Ajay wrote:Karasawa is just unreal when it comes to the detail in his art.

I really hope he gets a minimum of 8 weeks for each episode.

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 93
Karasawa's art this episode was honestly just fantastic. Some of his best art on Super, in my opinion.
That Frieza transformation was just godly. Did Karasawa do that?

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 93
That transformation was amazing. I wonder why they decided to make that one flashy, and not the initial one he had in 93.

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.
