...Huh? You're not buying it because they finally made a decent dub? Better never than late?

How much does one spend to collect just one of the complete sets for Z? Be it singles, bricks, boxes, manga... Multiply that by 2 for essentially the same story just improved in some way they should have done years ago, and I can not see it worth my money.

Good on them for doing what looks to be a great dub. I'll be keeping an eye on its progress. I just won't buy it.

Well, it's your money, so I won't criticize you for spending it the way you want to.

I can definately see where you're coming from, but I suggest that you don't buy the Dragon Boxes if you have the orange bricks or the singles and just buy Dragon Ball Z Kai like what I'm doing.

Don Brown played Kaio. Dave Ward has that naturally scratchy voice and played Gyumao.

Just checked 'em out, thanks to whoever uploaded these!

More than anything else I LOVE the script adaptation to death, everything sounds really natural and flows much better than the previous versions of that scene. I'm liking Colleen's performance quite a bit, but I feel I need to hear it in full quality before I get a final thought, since I can tell there's a lot of subtlety to that voice; haven't heard he do a character quite like Gohan before. Monica's Bulma sounds great, Chris wasn't kidding when he said it was similar to the previous; just better, hehe. The Narrator's pretty spiffy too.

Weirdest of all I DEFINITELY agree with the vibes you guys are getting that remind you of the Ocean dub. Granted I think a lot of that comes from us seeing these episodes with that dub first so it's hard not to think of it, but I see the correlations even so. Colleen's Gohan performance sounding very Saffron Henderson is the one I agree with most of all, though I'm sure it's coincidence.

Also I threw my arms up over them keeping the mention of Launch. I was really expecting that one to be nixed for some reason, but thankfully not. ;]

You just like something that's been changed in a certain way, so you're perfectly sane. :P

Also, Goku doesn't sound all that different from his UUC voice. That's still awesome, mind you, but the comments made me think he sounded even better than that.

And I agree with everyone else who said that Raditz sounded a little off. He sounded too much like a generic villain, which is why I dislike his Ocean Dub voice so much. Before, Justin Cook used to deliver his lines very calmly, but now it sounds way too much like the Ocean dub Raditz.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Well, different people have different tastes and opinions, and if it's a good dub (which it does seem to be), then I see nothing wrong with prefering it. On the other hand, the subbie in me says  :? :x

Everythings sounding pretty nice so far. The new Gohan is a significant improvement, as is the new Bulma. I'm not really fond of the new (well, sort've) narrator, although it is better than the wrestling announcer, and it doesn't make me think "KRILLIN'S IN DA HOUSE!" every time I hear it, so that's a plus. Both Chris and Sean have greatly improved, and the accurate script is a wonderful change which I honestly never expected to see (although the same can be said about domestic Dragon Boxes, so...).

I spose that Tienshinhan was a necessary compromise (although, considering it was damage done by Funimations previous dub, I do feel a little bit...resentful), and the Lunch/Launch thing doesn't really matter, as she doesn't even appear in Kai (well, aside from the ending animation). However, in that recap clip...Goku said 'World Martial Arts Tournament'. I mean, really? They're putting in Makankosappo, but not Tenkaichi Budokai? Heck, I'd quite happily take Strongest Under the Heavens Tournament - just not 'World Martial Arts Tournament' I know I'm knitpicking, but if you're going to make an accurate dub, you may as well do it right

Also, Monica Rial sounds almost exactly the same as Tiffany Vollmer. Good. Well, except when she's yelling.

"World Martial Arts Tournament" isn't something FUNimation just pulled out of the air. Every dub around the world used some sort of variation because "Tenka'ichi Budôkai" translates horribly. And "World Martial Arts Tournament" isn't that far off, anyway. "Budôkai" is basically a "Martial Arts Tournament", and "Strongest under the Heavens" could be shortened to the world.

Whenever people say "Oh, they pronounced Goku correctly", I'm always puzzled, because I never hear any difference.

Tenka'ichi Budoukai translates to "Number one martial way meeting under the heavens" which just sounds weird and so does "Strongest under the heavens tournament".

"World martial arts tournament" isn't an accurate translation but at least it sounds sensical and plus, FUNi's been using it so much in the dub that they're not going to change it.

I don't see why Strongest Under the Heavens Tournament sounds weird. Just sounds like a title for the tournament. Viz used it and it was fine.

I think people are picking up on his better line readings then a new voice personally. He sounds a lot more enthusiastic and chipper in the way he delivers them for the most part.

See, the things is, his delivery, his voiced...EVERYTHING is exactly the same as it was in the UUC dub. He's just as enthusiastic sounding as he was in those episodes. Just watch episodes 1 and 2 on your Dragon Box or Season sets or whatever you have and see for yourself. Trust me, I've watched those episodes enough times to know almost the exact delivery of everyone's lines.

It's kinda funny because I've been saying to people on here for years how enthusiastic Goku sounded in the UUC episodes and nobody seemed to agree, but now that the exact same performance is in a dub everyone's excited about, everyone now agrees. I win! :P

Does anyone else thing the new Bulma sounds similar to the TFSA one?...that's not a bad thing, by any means.
