Wow wasn't that an underwhelming death. To be honest, I find these specials to do more harm than good, its better to let the reader just imagine these grim futures rather than see it, since half of them are just lame excuses made entirely for filler. Sometimes, some things are better left unsaid.

Yeah, not to mention newcomers might assume the main manga is drawn like those specials :x

Man... that was a bit.. brutal. But I think its just because how anticlimactic it was.

I still can't believe they decided to make these specials in such different and bad artworks and publish them like that. It completely ruined the entire project. If I were the guy drawing the main manga I'd feel extremely offended and quit. DB's unique art is the most critical element in anything DB.

Like I said before, they should remove every single page that's not drawn by Gogeta Jr before anyone else sees them and re-publish the specials in written format, or start drawing them themselves even if it takes years.

Okay everyone let's settle down. Yes the specials are sometimes in piss poor quality but I view them as just filler and it gives the guest artist a chance to tribute their own work to a fan comic that they enjoy. Saying the main artist should quit because of the quality of the specials in both the writing and the art is just a little ridiculous.

Maybe I'm a little biased since I too will be a future guest artist but that's just what I think.

Also, I'm want the next special to be about the badass humans universe we've all been waiting for. Well, at least I've been waiting for it.

Its not that I dislike all of the specials, its just that the stories they show just aren't worth showing as it just ultimately just retells the same massacre story we already know the ending too. Most of which don't do anything creative with the plots anyway. However, I agree with you on the bad ass human universe, as that can offer us something we know nothing about other than Yamucha's surgery and Kuririn taking over Kamesennin's role...kinda...who knows really?

Also, the fact that you (Scarz) is doing a chapter really pumps me up since I love your DB artstyle, though it will be odd not seeing your art not feature any..er....suggestive positions.....or will it!? :P

Huh. I know I complained on a past page about using arrows to tell where panels go being distracting, but it bothers me less on this page for some reason. And Kakarot looks downright feral in his last one.

Her special will be where the long-lived desire for a topless Bra comes true. Calling it now. :P

Just ignore the specials if you don't like them. DBM is always gonna be about the main story anyway. The rest are extras.

But, I must say, the specials have been improving. They still don't really tell us a very worthwhile story about their universes, but they have become pretty entertaining.

Well, my special chapter is about how (SPOILER ALERT) everyone dies in Bulma's cleavage. It's a really touching chapter with a very climatic ending.

I declare this canon. 100% indisputable canon.

Anti-climatic indeed. Well, I guess it's supposed to be. When the bad guys win it usually is.

I agree since I do like specials. I think the last two specials were pretty well done and I do read them to see how they turn out. The specials bitching always remind me how people always bitch about crossovers on TGWTG. If you don't like them then don't read them. I'm pretty sure you can find something else to do until the special is over.

Okay let me explain, I don't dislike the specials nor do I want to come off bitchy, but I do find it really disappointing that the potential of the artists are being, on a regular occurrence, wasted on very predictable and often unnecessary stories. Why bother pandering to back stories that were pretty straight forward anyway (I.E They all die, the end.), rather than explore the perspectives of various characters of various different universes that don't always have to be the whole universe defining climax. For instance, how about show how Bojack and his crew run the earth, how they made it turn out to be, how they changed, ect or the day in the life of Perfect Cell post victory or what Kakarotto and the Saiyans did after this. In these cases, showing what they became is far more intriguing than what they did. There is so much more to offer from these universes besides the whole game changing time difference.

In my humblest of opinions, I just find it really pointless in these massacre stories being shown, since we already know the outcome. I understand if one or two were made to satisfy the morbid curiosity of fans (myself included) but seems like now its the go to default for whatever special is next that particular week. Even the Kaioshin one fell flat as it was just the same thing happening page by page with no real exploration into the characters displayed (this especially sucked as the art in that chapter was so damn good.)

If you like these specials good for you, so do I, its just that I feel some really well crafted stories can be told by really amazing artists, if only the stories they are given weren't the standard, boring affair of party A beats Party B because....?

Now what I'm really looking forward to is Scarz's, since...well...tits. Well as much that can get through that is....

I actually really like these specials. It's fun and interesting to see these different scenarios play out, no matter how predictable they may be. A fan manga of this quality showing the history of these alternate Dragon Ball universes, I can't help but enjoy it.

I agree completely.

However, it's a fighting story. Dragonball NEVER really explored the personal depths of the characters beyond "why to do they fight." Toriyama has said he's not a writer of things like interpersonal relationships and romance and such.

Salagir just isn't a professional writer out to write complex worlds or deep characters.

He's a Dragonball fan and he writes fights for Dragonball fans, that's all. Ever read the multiverse page? They spend most of the time complaining about how page X doesn't contain ENOUGH fighting. They don't really care about worldbuilding.

Obviously the specials are there to show the one thing that the main series rarely shows: What happens if the heroes really DID fail.
