The All-Purpose "Versus" Thread
Re: The All-Purpose "Versus" Thread
I'm in the same boat as both RandomGuy and Zombie. Goku and Cold are pretty much identical in raw power, but Goku claims victory as a much better fighter. Just having a tactical advantage like ki-sensing is probably enough to secure the win for him.

Goku VS 18.
How do you think Goku would have fared against 18 if he didnt have to deal with the heart virus?

Context: when asked if he’ll fight the androids
Goku: “Don’t worry…I won’t fight them yet…After all, if even Vegeta couldn’t beat them as he is now, then I can’t beat them either…”

All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

Goku AND Vegeta vs. 18; I'm pretty sure 17 mentioned she couldnt handle all the jobbers at once.

Goku and Vegeta should win. 17 said that Vegeta and Piccolo alone would be too much for 18 (and the humans, but they can't do shit). Replace Piccolo with Goku and their victory is all but assured.Kid Buu wrote:Goku AND Vegeta vs. 18; I'm pretty sure 17 mentioned she couldnt handle all the jobbers at once.

If we take the Goku vs Paikuhan fight from the anime into account, Super Kaio-ken (x2?) can only last for a few seconds. I usually don't take anime-only things as facts for the manga, but I'll take that one.hleV wrote:I think the fact that Goku never used a 10x KK (which he could easily do against Freeza, without much strain on his body) as a SS (after he mastered the form to feel like it's his normal state) pretty much blows the theory of KK getting ki out of nowhere away.

Whats the general consensus on Gohan's form in the fight? Is he SSJ1, or SSJ2?

Re: The All-Purpose "Versus" Thread
SS Gohan (yes, Super Saiyan) had an advantage in power, but because of his rusty skills, the fight went evenly (that's what Vegeta implied). Gohan required some time to turn into a SS2, as we saw in the tournament, so if Gohan was to try to turn into a SS2, then he wouldn't succeed in doing because Dabra wouldn't give him his time, except if Dabra had gotten so arrogant to go "try anything you want trash, you will never defeat me!". So, if Gohan can't turn into a SS2, then his only hope would be a rage boost, which would turn him into SS2 in a second.dbzfan7 wrote:Gohan vs Dabura

Sorry..I forgot about that..I just mean if their fight went on that they were currently having...whether he was SSJ/2 is irrelevant. Just the current levels they fought at.KentalSSJ6 wrote:The can of worms opens again, and sadly I must ask a question that opens another can.dbzfan7 wrote:Gohan vs Dabura

Re: The All-Purpose "Versus" Thread
Gohan seemed incapable of coming up with a proper battle strategy and Dabra seemed more crafty, despite his apparent power disadvantage, so I'm gonna go with the King of the Demon Realm here.
Re: The All-Purpose "Versus" Thread
If Gohan manages to pull out Super Saiyan 2 somehow, then he wins pretty easily, rusty skills or not. Otherwise Dabra eventually outmaneuvers Gohan and wins.

Re: The All-Purpose "Versus" Thread
Piccolo's only hope is tricking Nappa into taking the Makankosappo head-on. Otherwise Nappa should be able to beat down Piccolo pretty comfortably, even after letting him restore his energy.

- I have Black (with that robot) only 1 point higher than Arale, so he wins against her (eventually) and #8. Losses to Taopaipai.
- While Gohan has a small power advantage, Dabura is the better fighter. Gohan needs SSJ2 to win.
- Piccolo losses unless he fools Nappa into a Makankosappo or something.

Re: The All-Purpose "Versus" Thread
Nappa's too much of a burly damage sponge to be taken down by someone weaker than him, even if the opponent's power level isn't too far below his (Pic's 3500 Vs Nappa's 4000-4500). So I'll jump on the "Makankosappo or bust" answer train too.

Nappa was willing to take Kienzen head on, I wouldn't be surprised if he took the Makankosappo head on.
