No one is supposed to be the main character..
If toriyama mentioned trunks finishing zamasu in a fit of rage it will happen in the manga, it's good thing the manga is maintaining the logic of trunks not being able to do shit to someone who beat blue..

I like my entertainment to make sense and not randomly insert mindlessness for petty roles..
But Champa isnt a fan favorite or someone who was at the level of popularity like Trunks had.(I like Champa though).

Fans were excited about Trunks having an Arc centered on him because they wanted him to kick ass tbh if the anime was done like the manga they couldve been disappointed that Trunks was a complete wimp.

U know making sense sometimes it tends to be boring?

I dunno, impalement seems to be merely a flesh wound in DB. Krillin didn't instantly die from Freeza, anime Vegeta and Goku shrugged off Black's impalements, Goku fought with a hole in his chest, it's unlikely that he would have died instantly

I was a fan of Future Trunks, and but how he intervened in battles that were clearly out of his league in the anime made me get annoyed of his character.

Like I said, trunks could still have the rage moment where he ends Zamasu if that is supposed to be in the story..
Trunks might be a fan favorite but pushing him by force as the main character when the creator certainly didn't specify him to be one tends to break the story logic, which it did..

It could get boring but the manga isn't boring, that's the thing, it manages to keep it entertaining without sacrificing logic for the most part

Goku would have died from Piccolo's blast if it hit his vitals, and he was going to die regardless if it wasn't for the fact he got a senzu in time. Black should have the same weakness since he has Goku's body.

V Jump mentioned Trunks got far stronger due to the training with Vegeta, well I know it didnt help that Trunks training with Vegeta was offscreen like his "fight" vs Kid Trunks but at least there was an explanation.

Zamasu who was beaten by SSJ2 Goku later we saw him being on par with Blue, and this one was even worse because some fans didnt believe Zamasu could reach Blue tier in 17 years.

Trunks became hundreds of times stronger from a few hours at most of training?

Unless Whis showed up and chucked their asses inside of his ROSAT, I too do not buy this as a good enough justification.
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

I find this whole trope of trying to "un-evil the villain" absolutely eye rolling to me, especially in this chapter. How on Earth would anyone think that Zamasu would in any way repent on his genocidal actions even after killing all the gods and most of the mortal population? He's gone far too astray to even look back and even has his other self companion. So what makes Gowasu thinks that there's a chance of redemption within Zamasu, even if Gowasu thinks that he was once his master and is foolish enough to persuade Zamasu? And it's revealed that Zamasu knows of Zen'o. It makes Zamasu an idiot imo since I wonder how he thinks he's gonna get away with his plan for long and getting away with killing the rest of the gods. I mean, he surely doesn't think that Zen'o, the king of all, will somehow get a wind of Zamasu's plan of killing mortals and gods, right?
That aside, I did enjoy this chapter probably even more than the last. It seems that all the remaining Earthlings are dead though it's possible that a Genki Dama would be featured in the manga through different means like plants, animals, tress, etc. It's quite jarring to see how different (in a good way) Goku's characterization is in the manga compared to the anime. I also flaunted the world's widest smile when I saw Mai trying to wield Trunks's sword. You know, despite being a mere human that isn't worth shit compared to other characters in terms of strength, she doesn't weep or cower in the face of death and even helped the main characters numerous occasions.

I do prefer the manga version of Goku, his plan of leaving a few back up beans in the past was pretty smart.

The same reason people are okay with Vegeta becoming un-evil even though he's even now a barely reformed sociopath who never has and never will answer for the hundreds of genocides he's committed nor will he ever repent for them. At least with Zamasu and Black, they can use the Super Dragon Balls to undo a massive part of Black's damage, nothings fixing everyone Vegeta's murdered.

Because Vegeta is hellbent on his revenge against Black and Goku was the one who mastered the mafuba, I don't see Goku vs Black happening unless once the mafuba fails, Black tells Goku about what happened to his family, thus enraging Goku like in the anime.

But the Super Dragon Balls were destroyed by Zamasu. So nothing's ever fixing Zamasu's ruin. Whether Vegeta repents on his past genocidal actions or not is debatable. As a matter of fact, I do think he does considering how Vegeta has developed into more of a heroic and caring (for lack of better term) person and once tells Goku not to mention Vegeta's past invasion on Earth in EP 28 but since there's nothing for Vegeta to make up for his past mistakes.

This is the longest chapter in DBS and maybe in the DB manga history, with 45 pages, and this was chapter is amazing here what I like
-goku apologizing for leaving trunks in the future was a nice touch
-i love the scene where gowasu is convincing Goku black to become a good guy ,I love the part where Goku black said is to late for that and he finally explain his motivation, which is a plus to me
-and they finally reveal what happened to future Whis
-and Goku black is a savage in this chapter, and I love the part where they eleminated the remaining earthling
and now the things that I didn't like in this chapter
              - the Time travel is really confusing and is messy
-vegeta training in the hyperbolic time chamber
-and trunks did nothing special in this chapter, but I'm looking forward to see his battle with zamasu in chapter 22
overall this chapter is a 9/10

PLs in the anime are different than the manga though.

Trunks lost to SSJ3+God Ki Goku while Zamasu lost to SSJ2 Goku+God Ki.

I know its kind insane to think It took Zamasu 17 years to reach Blue level while for Trunks was in hours and he was stronger than Zamasu, Trunks also the excuse of being a hybrid which are prodigies, not prodigies like Zamasu or Frieza or to a lesser extend, Tagoma.

Considering that Trunks was apparently struggling with Dabura, I really doubt he's anywhere close to God tier. Goku was likely only using normal ki on him.

Agreed. This was by far an excellent chapter.

There's a crazy theory I have: the Zamasus are concerned (logically) about Zen-Oh. But the moment the gods started to die at least the angels should have noticed. I think this is part of a bigger plot. The high priest and his evil look in the last anime episode made me think about this.

Barely. They stopped getting significant Zenkais by this point and in the manga they stopped getting them at all.

In the manga he was, in the anime it looks like he didnt struggle that much besides blocking Dabura spits.

The God-Tier stuff in the anime started with Piccolo, who was able to perform better vs someone stronger Tagoma, who roflstomped him.
