"Dragon Ball Super" Animation Staff Discussion
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Animation Staff Discussion
Jest watched 1st episode of Keijo! Whoever animated that, did a perfect job, i love this anime so far, characters are fun and enjoyable, and animation is superb, and these sound effects, even through premise is so silly, everyone went top notch
I imagine DB Girls fought, using only breasts and butt

Morio Hatano finally storyboarding and directing and episode, awesome!
Ajay said that 67 is directed by King Ryu, should be intersting, wonder why he isn't directing 69 though.
Sato Masanori doing the storyboard for 68 but directing 69 is kinda weird.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Animation Staff Discussion
I am excited to see our series director as an ED and SBA for once. When series director is directly involved in an episode, it is usually a really good one. It is weird that Sato chose/got someone else's episode to SB rather than his own.

Hatano Morio! I'm glad that he's storyboarding and directing Episode #66. Having Tomioka Atsuhiro write Episode #66 makes me think he really is the unofficial series kousei now.Sodhi wrote:Staff for #66-69 is as follows

I don't know who クイーン・ドラ is and why they're listed as enshutsu, other than there being an error in the magazine.

I've been saying that for months!JulieYBM wrote: Hatano Morio! I'm glad that he's storyboarding and directing Episode #66. Having Tomioka Atsuhiro write Episode #66 makes me think he really is the unofficial series kousei now.
I wouldn't be surprised if it swaps back to King Ryu next arc and it swaps between the two with each arc.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Animation Staff Discussion
King Ryu~! *Tears of relief*. Happy to see them back! Curious how having them direct instead of write an episode will go.
Super curious about Hatano working on an episode. I remember his work being really good. Excited.

Hatano directing YES!!!! Now #66 is going to be even more exciting. I strongly believe it is going to be the last episode of the Trunks arc. That means at least Hatano isn't leaving. Hopefully he will direct on a regular basis from now.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Animation Staff Discussion
The fact that they are still doubling up on supervisors after 66 makes me think that the arc(and the fight) is still going in episode 69.Saikyo no Senshi wrote:Hatano directing YES!!!! Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Animation Staff Discussion
No wonder 66 looks so great, Morio Hatano having such control over an episode already gave us things like the amazing Saint Seiya Omega 51. Coupled with the fact he's the series' director, and the key animators working on it, it's clearly supposed to be the key episode of the arc. I think the arc is going until 67, at least, as Tomioka Atsuhiro is writing that one too...but it shouldn't last for too much longer now.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Animation Staff Discussion
It's a shame that we're stuck with a Shimanuki B-Part for Episode #66, though. It's a shame Hamano Yuu'ichi couldn't hold the role.

Care you be a bit more specific about it?JulieYBM wrote:It's a shame that we're stuck with a Shimanuki B-Part for Episode #66, though. It's a shame Hamano Yuu'ichi couldn't hold the role.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Animation Staff Discussion
What are the chances that Hatano will bring in some good animators for #66? I'm sure he has his contacts. Maybe Watanabe Koudai will pop up.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Animation Staff Discussion
Shimanuki's animation lacks impact. An episode personally overseen by the series director, who himself is a great director, should have strong lieutenants working under him. Hamano is at least one of Toei Animation stronger up-and-coming animators.DragonBalllKaiHD wrote:Care you be a bit more specific about it?JulieYBM wrote:It's a shame that we're stuck with a Shimanuki B-Part for Episode #66, though. Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Animation Staff Discussion
I agree that Super-Shimanuki is still a bit rusty when it comes to impact (he is not at "kaiokenx4 kamehameha" level) but I wouldn't count him out on this. The guy has been improving like crazy. Going from "potato head Krillin" to "Vegeta vs Trunks awesomeness". He can be extremely bad when it comes to fast animation but extremely good when it comes to "you have more time to work" animation. His latest episode was 61 and he provided some corrections in the "Vegeta vs Black" fight. I would say that we have a good 60% chance that 67 would have the second Shimanuki animation type.JulieYBM wrote:Shimanuki's animation lacks impact. Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Animation Staff Discussion
Yay, Morio Hatano is directing another episode. I loved his work in Episode 6 and 14, and I personally see those episodes as the high points of Super when it came to story-boarding.
Plus, King Ryu writing again is always a good thing.

Chioka Kimitoshi will be back in action with Tiger Mask W episode #9. Such a shame he didn't do anything for Super. Maybe, just maybe in the future he'll direct or storyboard an episode.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Animation Staff Discussion
Kakudou Hiroyuki is BACK!!! I hope the magazine isn't wrong. He did some exciting storyboards for Super like #27 and #47. #47 in particular was great. He has also done good work for Tiger Mask W.
#70 will have interesting direction cause Karasawa Kazuya has been consistently good. Other than it will be routine stuff, not that excited for 3 back-to-back Toshio scripts. But, Tate and Karasawa will be an interesting combo.
