He means the bible as in the canon story line. Thus saying "You elitists can't accept anything that isn't in your precious manga."caejones wrote:Wait, what? It just goes to show the other extreme end of this argument.
How does "McRoberts wasn't in the bible, so I can't imagine it being important."

Yes, he means the "thing what where a movie is wroted", not the actual canon (in this case the manga).Chrono Trigger wrote:I thought by Bible he meant the actual script? Now I'm confused.

That's what I was thinking. How do you get the whole "Elitist" thing from all of that?SSJ2bardock wrote:Excuse me I'm sorry, but why are a few of you guys all ganging up on JAPPO here? Well color me fucking stupid. Excuse me Cap'n Jappo. Why he called the script a bible is beyond me especially since I usually hear the term "bible" in Dragonball discussion refer to the manga in a sarcastic sense but whatever. Pardon my goulashes Elizigerth. The Tori-bot wrote:Yes, he means the "thing what where a movie is wroted", not the actual canon (in this case the manga).Chrono Trigger wrote:I thought by Bible he meant the actual script? To be honest... I won't fully believe that or 'McRoberts' until I see them in the book or movie myself. Even then, if Jappo's right and there's no mention of them in the script (and subsequently the film itself), I wouldn't be surprised if it's just something the junior novel's author made up.Bura wrote:Okay, now people are saying Bulma's last name will be.. If this is true that they're giving them last names.... quite frankly I think it's stupid. I mean would the movie have been hindered so much without the characters having last names? These aren't even necessary, the story would have moved along just fine with us only hearing their first names.

Just like how the dub's story moves along just fine with only Goku's given name! :OSSJ2bardock wrote:If this is true that they're giving them last names.... quite frankly I think it's stupid. Well maybe there's a significance to the last names. Who knows?SSJ2bardock wrote:If this is true that they're giving them last names.... quite frankly I think it's stupid. Yes the name changes are stupid but at this point is anybody honestly surprised?

That is entirely different. "Son" is Japanese and therefore better.Super Ghost Kamikaze wrote:Just like how the dub's story moves along just fine with only Goku's given name! :OSSJ2bardock wrote:If this is true that they're giving them last names.... quite frankly I think it's stupid. I kinda just wanna punch whoever decided "making up" last names was a good thing to do. >_O
I was laughing back when it was just Chi-Chi, but now I'm legitimately irritated.
I mean, Chi-Chi's was ridiculous enough, but Bulma already has a last name in the series! She's Bulma Briefs!
Bura, who said this? Was it the same guy who posted those scans?
On hiatus.
Well technically, last names are practically non-existent in Dragon World. Only Bulma's dad was ever addressed as 'Brief,' so it's more likely that's just his given name.

If there's a doctor named Jon Smith, you don't call him Dr. Jon, you call him Dr. Smith.
I don't know any legitimate professionals who attach their title to their first name instead of their last. Judges, policemen, clinical workers; its always Title + Last name.
That's besides the point though; adding fake last names is ridiculously pointless. Unless it has a necessary impact on the story itself, there's no need for them. Not when you have characters with pre-established names. Not having last names never hindered these characters in the manga and anime, so why bother tacking on made-up names now?!
It'd be like someone deciding "Wayne" is a boring name and calling him "Bruce Esperanto".
