That's because there isn't anything in that movie that implies it. Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread
Movie needs to be a minimum of 100 minutes.
They should give the movie double the budget.
It needs a much stronger story because BoG's was pretty weak really.
It needs to not have all the DBZ characters in it like in BoG and Yo Goku just for the sake of it.
It needs to be more dramatic and action packed.
It needs to be funny but without being silly like BoG would be with Pilaf and how they ruined Vegeta.

I disagree with all the people saying how they "ruined" Vegeta. it's development.Bullza wrote:and how they ruined Vegeta.
He threw away his pride on purpose to distract Beerus so he wouldn't destroy anything for the sake of his family. Vegetas very next line was petty much "I can't believe I made such a fool of myself."
He knows what he did but still did it protect Earth.
Similar with the fusion dance. He threw away his pride for some "prissy dance" for the sake of the Earth

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread
Yeah, Vegeta was amazing in that film. Absolutely fucking amazing. It was pretty much the first time since the Freeza arc there wasn't a moment where I didn't want to pluck him out of the comic and drop him in The Dip from Who Framed Roger Rabbit? so he wouldn't do something monumentally stupid again.
Vegeta's role in BOG was absolutely brilliant. Kaio knows brute strength is not the answer. What's needed for this situation is tact, patience, and diplomacy. So of course he goes to Vegeta!
It's pretty nonsensical (and so is the fact that they don't just up and tell everybody what's going on!), but it is soooooo good for his character. For once, Vegeta is the one having to go around and keep other people from doing stupid things that threaten the world. Given his history, that is the absolute perfect role for him, and he does it so well.
How anyone can possibly think this ruins the character of Vegeta any more than the Cell and Boo arcs already did is beyond me.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread
I personally have nothing with Vegeta's character in the B.o.G.. I like him very much. It was massively implied in the Buu saga that Vegeta was changed totally, and he decided to be an ally of the good forever. He definitely loves his wife, Trunks, the Earth, and his life among friends. So what he could do, if he knew that Beerus was that strong? Is have nothing even if he must throw his pride so bad.
I agree with one who said what the next film should be in comparison woth B.o.G. But the Director's Cut of the film was really good, I liked it much more that the theatrical cut.

I get that he's changed and was purposefully throwing away his pride but it could have been done without ruining the character.
He's always been known as the shows badass and now he's been redeemed to comic relief who sings and dances like an idiot and who looks for people in pots. They did the same with Piccolo too.
He's gone from being Goku's badass rival to a comic relief weakling.

The movie itself was comic relief. How was Vegeta a weakling?/ hHe did more than SSJ3 Goku and Mystic Gohan. I don't like BoG either and I don't like Vegeta but he's far from weak.Bullza wrote:I get that he's changed and was purposefully throwing away his pride but it could have been done without ruining the character.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread
I don't want to start a strength debate but could the reason SSJ1 (2?) Vegeta held his own longer than SSJ3 Goku did be because Goku wasn't putting his 100% into it (he was just sparring with Beerus IIRC), whereas Vegeta was pissed and wanted to pummel Beerus?TheGmGoken wrote:The movie itself was comic relief. He didn't really do anything though, he beat on Beerus for like 20 seconds when the guy wasn't even half serious and had no effect on him at all. Beerus poked him in the head and he fell like a sack of potatoes.
Compared to Goku and these new guys he's complete dirt and that's even with his little one off rage boost.
He really is what Piccolo became in the Buu arc. I wouldn't be surprised if Beerus replaced Vegeta as Goku's rival.
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread
Vegeta did more against Beerus in a fight than anyone else in the movie, including SS3 Goku. The only reason Goku was able to match Beerus in a fight was because he relied on his new Super Saiyan God powers, a form he specially wouldn't have been able to achieve without Vegeta.
Furthermore, Vegeta was shown as one of the smartest people in the film, constantly trying to keep Beerus calm. Don't tell me you think intelligence doesn't matter as much as physical strength when it comes to judging a character?

Ssj3 Goku got his ass kicked by Beerus.Compared to Goku and these new guys he's complete dirt and that's even with his little one off rage boost.
Goku said Vegeta surpassed him
Roshi said it
Vegeta said it
Goku have enough confidence to let Vegeta turn SSG
HOW is Vegeta dirt?
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread
Vegeta surpassed SSJ3 Goku for a matter of seconds because of a rage boost. He can't pull out that kind of power whenever he wants so he would still get his ass handed to him by SSJ3 Goku everytime.
Even with the rage boost though he is dirt compared to current Goku as well as Beerus and Whis. He'd stand as much of a chance at beating Goku as Yamcha would.

This discussion has little-to-nothing to do with the barely-announced 2015 movie. If you're interested in discussing/debating the merits of what was shown in Battle of Gods, you're free to take it to the "In-Universe" sub-forum.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread
I just hope this next film actually has a solid narrative that is also engaging. I really don't want another film where the characters are parading around for an hour plus doing nothing.

If there's more action I hope it's a longer movie so that the comedy doesn't get snuffed.
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread
I want both the comedy and the action, but my one big request is that we get to travel more. It was frustrating to spend so much time in Bulma's backyard, especially when it was the first movie the franchise had in so long.
On hiatus.

So Janemba getting the crap kicked out of him so easily after being able to more than handle Goku at super saiyan 3 implies absolutely nothing about just how power Gogeta is?
