So much reused animation. I enjoyed today's episode though. Although it was a little all over the place.

i don't think i was more let down by an episode more than today (second half mostly) watching that half was like watching older episodes all over again even that NEP, had nothing new, let's hope this is just for non important episodes so they give good stuff later, BTW new ending is amazing really dig it

Boy, that was excruciating. If they had fucking planned better we wouldn't be in this mess.

The battle royal was ok but I hated the overusage of basil ki blast animation and next week is recycling higashide awesome cut in episode 81 and the op animation from goku vs Bergamo, the battle Royale better not be like this other than that it was fine in term of art and Animation

They recycled Kales transformation, it shouldnt be surprising they would recycle Goku kicking Bergamos butt.

And those effects perfectly matches the beginning of the opening:

Yeah,Nii doing that early part of the opening was something me and Ajay guessed at back in 82, but I feel this further confirms that guess.

It does make me wonder if part of the reason they took so long to get to the tournament was to build up animation they could reuse for the opening of the tournament.
I know some people are worried, but I don't think this is a bad sign, with how things have been going for Super recently I'm guessing this is less a sign of things falling apart and more smart planning to make sure we get some really special stuff in a few weeks.

Well... uh, that was a thing. Wholly unimpressive. Reaction shots, reused animation, awful effects composited equally as awfully. The little action that was unique was fairly mediocre, with a few decent sections. This was just everything I was afraid of. At the very least, Kitano was entirely corrected away by Takeo Ide, so we didn't have to suffer through his jank!

I have no doubt in my mind we'll see plenty of great moments, but the fact the NEP's action is entirely reused too doesn't exactly fill me with excitement. BANK animation is good when it's created with the intent of being BANK, but when it's clearly done out of necessity, and in such large quantities, it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Not really what I wanted, and exactly why I said it was silly for a show like Super to take on such a demanding story line before this arc even began.

Like, I 100% get that it's to ensure animators can be spaced out throughout the tournament, and have time to deliver good work, but it hurts all the same. Shortcuts aren't supposed to be this in your face. It's just a reminder that Super is Super, despite its improvements.

Wow, I didn't see the episode, but reading all of this (BANK animation, negativity toward the episode), my hype fall down to 0. It was that bad?

Episode looked alright. It just had a lot of reused animation and I will take that any day of the week over new animation that looks bad. This was by no means a bad looking episode IMO.

New ending looks nice, especially that last shot of Goku and Gohan.

Its Kitano, aka the man behind Dog Beerus, that first half of episode 67.

I'm glad at least it looked better than Episode 33.

I think they used the re-used animation to hide Kitanos weakness, even Toei know he isnt good.

Really? I just watched the episode in HD and I didn't see anything really wrong with the effects, there were a few parts where composition wasn't great, but for the most part I thought it was totally fine.
On top of that there are a lot of really nice cuts throughout the episode and strong art for the most part. This episode actually came out better than I thought it would.

The NEP showing a lot of reused animation is lame, but the NEPs have also made a lot of good looking episodes look worse than they were, so I don't know.

I prefer having reused cuts than to have another Goku vs Botamo fight or Goku vs. Frost fight.

I really don't see the problem in using BANK animation during the start of tournament, it's obvious that their making time for the more impressive animators. Its best not to have future worries detract from from your enjoyment, especially since we have statments from people working on the show tellling us to raise our expectations for tournament and to be watching out for cool animation. Surprisingly, I thought it would be common knowledge now to not judge the next episode by NEP, since the actual good stuff is shown when the episode airs.

I get people being upset, it does kind of take away from the episodes and that's totally understandable for it to leave a bad taste is some people's mouths. It doesn't really bother me though, it weirdly makes me more excited.
Hopefully we can all look back at the reused animation in a few weeks and say it was worth it!

Didn't we just have three episode in a row with above-average animation, it's understandable if there's needs to be a cool down.
