Is it called Light Greneade, or is it just that Evil Blast Attack? Thanks!
Piccolo gives you Evil Explosion first, then Super Explosion Wave, then Light Grenade, then Special Beam Cannon.
Damnit, so I didn't master his training. I got his Z Soul, and Kept talking to him, but he just kept saying the same stuff over and over again. Now I have to wait until for ever until he populates toki toki again. smh...Curse you RNG!

Ah ok afterimage strike is the one where you move around heaps first, i was thinking of the counter move. Ill definitely test it out. Also does anyone else think light grenade absolutely sucks? It is slow and seems to target where your opponent was a second ago as opposed to their current position. Also the blast is tiny, definitely doesn't do the move justice.

The Bardock mission is unbalanced and just harsh! I'm at level 80 (no achievement? Lame.) and using Ultra Fighting Bomber and at best I can get Freeza's health down to red, middle section before Bardock dies. There has to be a easier way, a trick, a move, a game exploit, something!

A lot of it is just luck, unfortunately. I was only in the 50's when I beat that mission (after it about drove me insane). Two things ended up making it work for me.GTx10 wrote:The Bardock mission is unbalanced and just harsh! I'm at level 80 (no achievement? 1) Get some kind of Ultimate that will generally really, really hurt two or three people at a time if you can line them up right. Something like Android 17's Super Electric Strike, or what I got, Whis's Symphonic Destruction, tend to work really well.
2) Depending on what your stats are, you might want to turn to getting all of the Dragon Balls and making a wish to re-distribute them. I ended up pumping a full 100 into my basic strikes so that I was just wrecking people with basic punches and kicks. The rest I had at the time ended up going into beam related attacks to help make my Ultimate really tough. If you're already at Lv. 80 though and have all of the points you're gonna get, I'd say to split put a bunch of points into Health too.
Oh, and that's another thing.
3) Have health items. But don't bother with any that heal teammates since it won't work on Bardock anyway. I tended to have one of each size (S, M, L, and Z) of whatever the item is that heals me equipped, though since S doesn't heal much, putting in a Regen. capsule instead might be handy too.

There a way to check to see how far along you are in a mastery. Open the menu, select "Play Data," and hit your triggers until you get to the mastery page. On the mastery page, you can see progress with all of the masters.dualist wrote:Damnit, so I didn't master his training. To check what your standing is with your current master, find their picture on the mastery page. You can see how many missions you have completed, and how many more you must do. You will know when you have mastered when a big "COMPLETE" is displayed above their picture (as well as MAX above the friend bar).

I've been checking that listing periodically too, and man, it seems almost like it's random when you get a boost with a mentor or not too. I've got Android 18 as my mentor, I'm farming the Great Ape Fest or whatever quest cuz it gives a bunch of experience, I've got two Android 18's with me as back up, and I'm trying to use her moves a whole lot, and it's still taking a while to even see a little bit more on her bar there.

I'm convinced masters advance at different rates based on personality. Friendlier masters, such as Ginyu, allow you to progress through the mastery much faster than apathetic masters, like Vegeta and 18, don't allow quick progress.

Different rates wouldn't surprise me, though I dunno about their temperaments mattering, since the only one I've maxed is Vegeta, and Goku seems to be moving slower than anyone. I'm convinced there's gotta be some other trick to it too though.

I'm gonna try and snag Mr those moves and retry. Hmmm, gathering the Dragon Balls (a tedious act in itself) just to redistribute my points? (Which throws my somewhat balanced stats out of wack...Hmmm) I do appreciate the tips, blasted Bardock just won't stay alive. I believe this level needs a patch because its just rgh! Again regretting not choosing a Saiyan. SS plus unlimited Ultra Fighting Bomber sounds good. Maybe if I can't succeeded with the above tips I'll have to train my Saiyan created character (I made a Freeza Race to start off with) and try spamming SS +RUF Bomber.

I did make a Saiyan, and trust me, even with SS2 and getting three or four good uses of an ultimate (tough I don't have that particular Ultimate yet) per use still wasn't doing much good for me in that level.GTx10 wrote:I'm gonna try and snag Mr those moves and retry. I tried going for a balanced character stat-wise too, but it just was not working. The only way to really make your character stronger is to figure out what types of player you are and cater to your strengths. For me, I do a lot of hand to hand combat, and I do a lot of beam Ultimates, so pumping up those two areas has really helped me a lot. Having a higher health ratio comes in handy for pretty much everyone I'd think though.

It's hard to have a balanced character in this game. If you try to evenly distribute to 5 or more stats, you will just end up falling short in every way. It's good to pick stats that best suits your play-style and/or race.

Towards the end I started giving my Beam Supers and Stamina the attention. Because I'm more of "blast them!" type of person. But even if SS spamming isn't a sure fire way to win... Hmmm... Curse you Xenoverse! Maybe I'll stick to DB hunting and finding Beerus so I can train under him. (P.S. Earning the Super Ka Me Ha Me Ha from Son Kun is just SO damn good!)

Still on my first CaC as I don't get to play the game too often and am happily progressing slowly. I'm rollin with a Namekian and am mainly focusing on Stamina, Health, and Ki Supers. with secondary distribution to Ki and physical attacks.
I know the game is probably going to get annoyingly tough from what I hear, but I've always had a hard time following suggested stats or 'builds' because I end up feeling like these type of games lose their uniqueness when everyone distributes their stats the same. Happens a whole lot in MMOs where people aren't even willing to play with you if your build isn't right. But I just want to enjoy the game how I want to play it. That's why I like how you said that it's best to pick stats that best suites your play style as opposed to just trying to make a character that you think would just win.
With that being said, I haven't played the Bardock Mission that everyone says is hell, so I could be singin a different tune later...lol

It definitely should be your own thing. There's no good way to just copy-paste your stats based on another person. There are too many other factors, such as your personal style.
Here's an example:
Two people may both specialize in ki blasts. However, one guy likes to set up for ki blasts with melee, and the other guy just wants to charge-and-shoot. These two guys would be wise to distribute their points in a way that would benefit their specific style. If the melee-setup guy were to copy a layout where basic attacks aren't considered, then he would be worse off than if he had thought about his own play style. Same with the charge-and-shoot guy; if he copied a melee-setup layout, then he'd be weakened by useless points in melee he wouldn't use.
Sorry if that was too complicated. The main point is: Find what best suits your play style. Besides, if you find that you have distributed your stats badly, a reset is just a wish away.

I think 'finding your own style' is a big part of this game in general really, more so than any other DBZ game before it. I mean, think about it - in previous games, we would all more or less be at the same place depending on where we were in the game. If we'd beaten the story mode, we'd have all the characters, outfits, moves, levels, etc. But with this game, while a lot of that is unlocked by playing story mode, one person might have already managed to hit the max level before finishing story mode, while another hasn't but has managed to max their mentor levels with a couple different mentors. And between those two, one might have done a few PQs, the other might have done none, or even all of them! This game has the weirdest flow I've seen in a while, and for all the frustration, it is kinda fun to read where different people are at different places.

Xenoverse really is a unique game, at least progression wise, especially for Dragon Ball. The way you are inclined to progress in video games is how the game will progress. You don't conform to the game's progression, the game conforms to your progression. It's a really interesting way of going at it, and I personally love Xenoverse for doing it. I'm curios as to if this was accidental, or if some genius is working at Bandai
. Of course, I may just be looking waaaaaay to deep into it.

I couldn't agree more with both of you. And the more I play, I feel like I'm developing more of a personal style and figuring out different combinations to set things up. And this is just with my first character. I plan on playing a completely different style with my Saiyan, Human, and maybe later a Frieza race character.
What I really can't wait for is when they get this server stuff worked out. I'm really missing the aspect of being around other players in Toki Toki. They'll figure it out, I remember GTA V had major problems for about a month with its online mode. I think they should expand Toki Toki in the next installment and add a few more things to do in the hub world. COnsidering how big of a game there was between Budokai 1 and 3, I can only imagine how much Dimps will improve this series later on down the line.

Yeah. And also I've beaten missions before Level 50 that some still can't beat at level 80 so I've found out that my style is probably the best style.Gyt Kaliba wrote:I think 'finding your own style' is a big part of this game in general really, more so than any other DBZ game before it.
