They also removed the filter over Candy Vegetto. He no longer sounds like a Chipmunk.

So basically, Boo sounds just like Raditz and Coffee Candy Vegetto is considerably less hilarious?

That's very unfortunate.

I'd say more like a deeper Yusuke than Raditz.

WHHHAAAAAAT!? They made candy Vegetto sound normal!? That does it. I'm going to... buy this set. But I won't be happy about it.

I was reading the booklet, and I found something interesting: THEY ACTUALLY CALL GOHAN MYSTIC GOHAN! You'd think they'd call him Ultimate Gohan, but they went with Mystic instead.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Yeah. And apparently Vegeta's techniques include the Gallic Gun, which he has not used since "Season 1", and the Blutz Wave, which he has not yet learned. I was going to put up that they call Gohan "Mystic", but was distracted with final papers lol

Yeah I'm pretty pissed about Boo's filtered voice. It sounds like dubbed Raditz's and Coola's (post-transformation) voices. The voices for the original U.S. broadcast track should have been left alone. Boo's original FUNI dubbed voice was great because it was deep and manly.

They should have filtered out some of that overused Bruce Faulconer crap (besides the Boo theme).

This is my favorite arc of DBZ and FUNI had to whack it with the bat before putting on the shelves.

FUNI can suck my dick for this one!
Gohan: At least he doesn't have his sword out anymore.
Kuririn: Yeah, and your dad put his finger away too.

There is an option to listen to the Japanese BGM...

Your complaining about it being ruined because a couple of voices were altered?

I know but I'm just saying that both sound very similar in this case.

I don't think Funi actually got rid of the filters. They probably just used an audio recording from before they actually added the filters because it was all they had.

Also, one thing I noticed is that the picture quality on this set is kinda inconsistent. The first half of the set looks just as good as Season 8, but then after that, it slips back to Season 7-like quality. Now, don't get me wrong, Season 7 looked pretty good to, but it paled in comparison to Season 8's quality.

Just got this set, watching through it.
This is great, because with this I'll have finally seen the entire series, in Japanese, from Start to finish in order instead of skipping around.

Also, one of the
really funny gags I forgot about just made me double-over laughing.

Mr. Satan packing Heat! "I've got my 45 cal here, and it's gonna rain fire on Boo pretty soon!!" X3
Classic!!

Bah, I hate how amazon's screencaps for the season set are the 4:3 ones. Way to be misleading. On the other hand, they can provide for some comparisons. Can anyone take a season cap of this?:

I never realized how huge Boo is in that form. Does it ever say how tall he is there?

I can't wait to get my Dragon Box release of series. I really don't like that cropping in some scenes, because there is not visible what is need to be seen..... and some of the pictures are really horrible, as some guys here noted especially in season 3, which I were watching again for this purpose...... The last thing why I want to get Dragon Boxes is because of Japanese audio (I don't watching the english one) in better quality and picture on absolutely different level.......

As of Season Six, the only real differences in picture quality have been color discrepancies and dirt. The actual clarity and grain have been on par for both.
