Think what you want but FUNimation themselves aren't calling it a "Dragon Box", so it's safe to say that it's just going to be the two green bricks in one box set.jjgp1112 wrote:That doesn't really confirm anything. Thank you for contacting us.
Funimation is not referring to this set as a "Dragon Box," so to the best of our knowledge, it will be a standard box set that contains both seasons of Dragonball GT.
Have a great day!

Re: Dragon Ball GT Complete Series set?
I don't really care if it's dragonbox; I just care that we regain the Next Episode Previews, season set-style faux-remaster or not. That was the one flaw of the GT sets, IMO.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
Re: Dragon Ball GT Complete Series set?
Again, I think it's possible that they will use their non-remastered singles footage, which already looks very close to the Dragon Box, and simply default to their copies of the Japanese title cards and include the next episode previews. It's possible that they could go that route, but since it wouldn't be true Dragon Box footage, they wouldn't be calling it the Dragon Box...

Except season 2 of GT also included the GT special, so we're back to 1520 vs 1600.Daimo-Rukiri wrote:Okay first off Rightstuff can't release information FUNimation hasn't released(this isn't wal-mart) + the season sets runtime combined is 1520.
Well the dragon Box also included the movie.
So 1520 + 30 + 50 = 1600.
We gain 30 extra minutes because of the next ep previews, I could be wrong but seriously what extra 30 minutes could they add?
You do bring up an interesting idea, though. If the season sets were just missing the original picture quality and next ep previews, this could just be FUNi's current GT with the next ep previews chucked in. Thus it becomes neither a repackage nor the DBox, getting us both the runtime and price issues resolved.
I was joking earlier, but I hope they do randomly toss in the Jump Festa in the set.

Re: Dragon Ball GT Complete Series set?
Unless Toei is being a bitch about it I don't see what the point would be using their own footage with the NEPs added in. Sounds like a waste if Toei is willing to play ball with the Dragon Boxes even if FUNi's footage isn't that much worse. But, again, they might be being a bitch about it.

Three volumes for Dragon Ball dragon box= 51 eps per box, It'd be perfect.Daimo-Rukiri wrote:Sorry but I gotta agree, even though it's highly likely we'll see Dragon Ball in Dragon Box format it's just too early for it considering it hasn't finished it's Brick run.MR.Mark wrote:Maybe because GT sucks super saiyan ass and Dragon Ball is far more deserving of such treatment?LeprikanGT wrote:Exactly, Dragonball hasnt even finished its Brickset run, wheres your vomiting from ""blasphemy"" there?
Since they didn't go in order to start with, why would it matter now?
Besides if anything Dragon Ball would be done in 2-3 volumes.

Even if they go that route it'd probably be extremely close to the dragon box, if I remember correctly they look practically the same color and grain wise.Dayspring wrote:Except season 2 of GT also included the GT special, so we're back to 1520 vs 1600.Daimo-Rukiri wrote:Okay first off Rightstuff can't release information FUNimation hasn't released(this isn't wal-mart) + the season sets runtime combined is 1520.

I would get that over the green bricks yet, and the singles are probably better(are they?).

I thought that cover was fan made for a second.

I did too lol.SSJSteve wrote:I thought that cover was fan made for a second.
Okay, I suppose this does make some sense considering the Dragon Ball blue bricks are still being released. I already have both seasons and I really don't think they will include anything else on this one that wasn't on the other two. I guess it really is just 2 stuck together, I shouldn't have expected them to release the DBGT dragon box though when the Dragon Ball Z ones are still coming out
PS. I still hate this design.

I thought it's a fan made too before it's said not a fan made. I think the Dragon Box GT still will be release after Z!

Next up: Dragon Ball - The Complete Series and Dragon Ball Z - The Complete Cropped Digitally De-mastered Series!
I had a feeling I was setting myself up for disappointment, and this set still makes no fucking sense at all considering you are paying the exact same amount, and even then the old sets with the same material are likely going to get cheaper much faster now that they've been rendered "obsolete", rendering this new set a complete waste of time and money.
I guess the hope of a new GT set with NEPs and the original title cards is lost forever... I also like the dub, so I'm not going to buy the old single releases with that rap shit.
