Anyone think Majin Vegeta and Bebi Vegeta should not their own characters and be via item just like Majin Vegeta was in Budokai 2 and 3? To me Bebi Vegeta and Majin Vegeta works better as item transformation then as their own character?

I think both wouldn't hurt, I agree that those character alterations feel much better as drastic power multipliers but a secret cheat to hold a button while selecting Vegeta to start off in the Majin boost would make everyone happy.

The one thing that I missed out of Majin Vegeta is that you have Majin Vegeta in Vegeta's saiyajin armor. Seeing Bebi Vegeta in that armor or in Vegeta's Buu saga outfit would be cool to see as well.

I'm not against it in general, but the Budokai version sucked balls in every possible way.

It'd probably if they item didn't require you to be mostly dead and then knocked out to the ground before even doing anything. Or take up 3 item slots.

That Budokai version really did suck.
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

2D HD DragonBall Z fighting game from Arc System Works with fast paced gameplay in the style of Guilty Gear.

They gotta bring back all the classic "special moves" from the old DBZ fighters, like Goku's dashing elbow, Piccolo's dive kick, etc.

What's important though is they take the Super DBZ approach, have a smaller roster, so it allows characters to have more variety in their movelist. We don't need every character being a clone of one another, every character should have different normals with their own hitboxes and properties, walk/dash speeds, jump arcs, unique special moves, supers, etc.

Every character would be able to enter a flight mode similar to characters with flight in the Marvel vs. games, there would be a chain combo system like Guilty Gear, along with being able to dash/run, and perform air dashes, double jumps, bursts, and stuff like that. Characters would be able to enter a transformed/power-up state once their power gauge is maxed out, and enter a temporary power+speed (and defense?) boost like X-Factor in Marvel vs. Capcom 3, except it wouldn't be broken and would quickly drain your power gauge, and once it's empty, it'll take awhile before it starts recovering.

Also there would be no power charging. So lame in old DBZ games when battles come to a halt so one so both players can recharge their power.

Christ... I could think of ideas all day for a 2D HD DBZ game and never be satisfied lol.

Do you play fighting games (2D mainly)?
I think power charge can stay, Melty Blood AA CC has this feature for a character "class" and it isn't as dominant as in DBZ games.
For my part, I and some friends have some ideas, which are mixing Sparking perspective with 2D and 3D fighting games fundamentals.

For a 2D DBZ, Balthazar is making Mugen Sprites for some DBZ charas. It could become a full Mugen game, but I don't know.

DB Xenoverse is not a DBZ simulator with fighting elements, it's a semi competent fighting/action game with DBZ simulation elements.

Being big fan of Guilty Gear and BlazBlue, having DBZ fighter like this with new story mode done like in GG or BB will be dream come true.

Yeah I agree, I think the Tenkaichi Budokai style gameplay has really overstayed it's welcome.

I agree since the Sparking gameplay has become really old. I think casual fans like the gameplay more then the Budokai series since it has more of a DBZ feel to it, but I'm personally sick of it.

@RunningWild & Hellspawn28; I agree, I think it's high-time there was some variety in DB fighter gaming. Unfortunately though, we still have Spike, so what can we do? 3D fighters seem to be sorta their 'thing', I doubt they'll make anything aside from something like that.

I think we have to accept that they will continue to make 3D DBZ fighters, however we've got to show them how they can make them so much better. I and some others have a few ideas, personally I really want to get rid of 'Smash attacks' for starters, the worst fighting engine known to gaming! I don't think there's a better way to make a every character as generic as possible. What do you guys think?
