Re: Dragon Ball Z: Orange Bricks - UK Release Out Now!
Honestly, I want them to go onto the Dragon Ball Blue Bricks yet. It still irritates me to no end that they decided to start halfway through the story instead of the beginning. Imagine if they ONLY released Naruto Shippuden and not Naruto? I have a few friends who want to get into Dragon Ball, and will only do so if they can start at the beginning - and quite rightly so. I suppose in the end it all comes down to sales, and Dragon Ball Z is where the money is, not Dragon Ball. Ah well. If they were to release the blue bricks I would be tempted to pick them up, although if FUNimation get Dragon Boxes out first, then I'll just go with that, I guess. If MangaUK were to do GT next, I'd probably pick it up if it was the complete series set that FUNimation brought out, as it would probably be cheap enough to be worth buying to tide me over until a possible Dragon Box release.

Don't know if this has already been mentioned, but the UK cover art for DBZ season 8 has been changed.
Here's the listing with the cover: http://www.shopmanga.co.uk/title.php?Ref=10521skus

Re: Dragon Ball Z: Orange Bricks - UK Release Out Now!
I was just checking out Manga UK's twitter and saw that the cover art for Season 9 is the same as the US release unlike the one for Season 8. Interestingly they also said to stay tuned for more Dragonball related news soon. I'm actually hoping they announce either GT or the movies next. GT won't take long to release and after that they could quickly move onto DB and then possibly Kai. Although it could just be an announcement regarding the complete series set that they're doing. Or, dare I say it, the Blurays?

On their last podcast they took someone's question about them doing the Blu-rays, to which they replied with them having "other steps" that Toei wants them to take with the franchise first.90sDBZ wrote:I was just checking out Manga UK's twitter and saw that the cover art for Season 9 is the same as the US release unlike the one for Season 8. I think there was some talk of MAYBE doing a complete Z limited edition boxset around Christmas, after all 9 are out, but I'm leaning more towards them having to get all of the series out first. It might be the Z Movies and TV Specials, GT, Dragon Ball, or even Battle of Gods. It's anyone's guess, at this point.

Announced at MCM London Comic Con, Manga UK will release Dragon Ball GT in two boxsets in January and March of next year. I take it that these are the Green Bricks.

Wouldn't they be the Yellow Bricks to keep consistency with the Orange Bricks?Solidus wrote:Announced at MCM London Comic Con, Manga UK will release Dragon Ball GT in two boxsets in January and March of next year. I take it that these are the Green Bricks.

Right, the Yellow Bricks. They always seemed more green than yellow to me, sorry for the confusion.Gonstead wrote:Wouldn't they be the Yellow Bricks to keep consistency with the Orange Bricks?

Hi chaps, just got back from MCM Expo and as usual, I've tried to squeeze as much information out of MangaUK and Dragon Ball licenses as possible. As you've seen, the GT Yellow Bricks were announced which was pretty cool. In the live podcast, I asked why they decided on GT over original DB and or other parts of the series. Jerome then told me that it was because GT is basically a sequel to DBZ, so most people would want to buy that next, which made sense. It also had something to do with Toei's input. The interesting part is what he told me next: He said that MangaUK was definitely on board with picking up the original Dragon Ball series, and he also mentioned "Other series and films", or words to that effect. Once the podcast is uploaded, I'll put the link here so you can listen to what he said exactly. Anyway, good to know that MangaUK is interested in more Dragon Ball.

You're on the gap between yellow and green. It doesn't really matter but it is more into the yellows than the greens.

Re: Dragon Ball Z: Orange Bricks - UK Release Out Now!
Aaaand now I'm torn. I do want to buy GT...but I've been waiting for a Dragon Box release from FUNimation, since I have all their Z Boxes, which doesn't seem to be happening. This would be a cheaper release for me, but I seem to recall this being a little blurrier than I'd want.
Does anyone know/could point me toward a comparison of how these Green Bricks (as they've always been referenced as lol) stack up to the Dragon Boxes?
As a small nitpick, I do hope they change the cover art for both sets. Maybe the Goku from the Complete Set for Season 1 and the art from the Dragon Box single 11 for Season 2?

Uhm, that's a bit more than I had hoped. And they also have the crappy FUNimation GT logo on the opening...and english-only title cards...and no next episode previews...The same reasons why I never imported them before...but they'll be cheaper...I'm incredibly torn.

Yeah, I'm just not sure if I wanna/can look past those flaws, not knowing if a Dragon Box GT release is possible...
