And now, A Hero's Legacy. I love this!

-This story is very much like classic Dragon Ball stuff, so it has a really nice feel to it overall. Goku Jr. and Puck's friendship really is nice to see develop. The scenes involving Pan's condition are a real tearjerker.
-Eyecatchers are all shots from the Special itself, even from parts that are in later scenes apparently.
-Mark Menza's music is surprisingly more emotional in this one. A lot more than in the series, or even the Z Movies he scored. It has a really nice vibe to it that fits the setting and mood very well.
-The final scene with Goku still doesn't really show who he is.
-On another note, Puck and his two buds were with Pan at the tournament.
-Step Into The Grand Tour is used as the ending theme, with the same footage as the second ending theme. This is the only instance of the song that survives in the current releases.

Thus, that completes my run of all the 1986-1997 Dragon Ball stuff from start to finish....in English. Yep, my Dragon Ball ride is far from over. I'll be seeing Battle of Gods next, which I will write about in the main thread. Afterwards, I'll go ahead and do Kai 1-98, and then we'll see what happens. This has been a fun ride! 'Til we meet again!

I'm really interested to hear your thoughts on the Japanese cast, music, and dialogue when you eventually work your way through the original version of the series. (which we should expect sometime around.... 2021? )

At least the dubs for Battle of Gods and Kai should give you a better idea of how the show was originally presented.
Nothing matters (in a cosmic sense.) Have a good time.

It'll be WAY Before 2021, for sure. I started at the beginning of Dragon Ball shortly after Christmas in 2012, and then fininished just now, but that's because I was buying the sets as I was going while living abroad. It shouldn't take nearly as long to get through the Japanese version since I already have the whole thing in my possession. Even so, I still plan on doing Kai first, but it may depend on what's actually out by that point.
