Where'd 40,000 come from? It was 40.

They had SSJ4 Goku at only being able to lift 160,000 tons (without Ki), even though in the anime when he was drastically weaker he was able to push apart a mountain.

Well 40 tons is 40,000 right? and thats what Goku was struggling with when he was training with King Kai at the beginning of the Boo arc.. But I completely forgotten about the 160,000 and they said thats enough to push a continent?… Yeah something's waaaay off there. Its been a good while since I watched that video.

No 40 tons is just 40 tons. Which is hardly anything and what's always been controversial amongst fans because it's a huge inconsistency when he pushed a boulder much heavier than that when he was a kid.

The Death Battle video went with that though when they probably shouldn't have.

So they had Goku at being able to lift 160,000 tons and Superman 6.6 quintillion tons.

Striking strength is the more important thing to consider. Toriyama said that Goku could only train his muscles to a certain point and then it's all down to Ki which they use to augment their punches.

Clearly the continent thing was a misspeak.

And while striking strength is important, when someone can chuck mountains at you, you can see lifting strength becomes somewhat important.

But Goku could probably shatter the mountains thrown at him by striking them. Even though he's considerably stronger Beerus destroyed a bunch of planets without any thought just by smashing through them.

Makes you wonder how much power he could pack into a single punch at 100%.

There's also the question of whether they're talking about metric tons (mass) or imperial tons (force), as the latter is predefined by the gravity it's already in.

That's just grasping at straws, pretty much. If gravity was a factor, it would have been mentioned, and whatever kind of ton it is, it won't make THAT much of a difference. The point is that kid Goku in very early Dragon Ball was shown to drag rocks that should be at least that kind of weight and other impressive feats. The 40 ton thing, considering how much stronger Goku got until that point, is simply nowhere consistent.

They've hinted at it since back in march, which probably means they finished it before SSGSS was known to the public(29th of March IIRC).

I'm betting Goku wins. Not because of feats or new powers but simply because then they could do a tie breaker match for the 75th or 100th episode.

They're doing it as a joke at this point. Goku's going to lose even worse now, they will get more criticism, more views, and more profit. Don't get me wrong either, I don't think Goku stands a chance. lol.

On a side note, Majin Buu vs Kirby battle was ridiculous. Not the winner, but the actual battle, which gave Kirby access to so many outside resources, and unfairly buffed his speed for no reason. They know DBZ fans are the easiest to rile in these fantasy battles.
