If I could have put bigger shots up I would. They only allow a certain number of space on photobucket (where the photos are being hosted) so when I uploaded them they all shrank. Also I'll put up an audio sample somtime tonight. (10pm - 11pm).Oh, and Tanooki, would there any chance that you can get bigger screenshots?

I think the lucky part would be having the money to begin withlost in thought wrote:First, I'll pose you a question: Where is the luck involved in deciding to spend $350.00, if you have it available?
Exceeded. Keep in mind, I've owned FUNi discs and have all the other DragonBoxes, so I had an idea of what to expect, but even then my expectations were surpassed. This set is absolutely gorgeous, and a fine way to end the series of boxes that have been released these past 3 years. I'm proud to own it, and should anyone break into my house I will protect it with my two 9mm pistols with laser sights ;pmasenko wrote:Word. I'm all about discussing the DragonBox. Let me just reinitiate the conversation with a quick question. For those of you that have purchased the Box(lucky), has it not met, reached, or exceeded your expectations?
Keep in mind that menus for Japanese releases tend to be more minimalistic. They concentrate more on utilizing the space on the disc for the actual feature. Also, the DragonBall DragonBox extras were made a long time ago as PSA's, hence their inclusion. To me, the only thing this set might have been able to give us was the GT finale with credits and video game intros. Other than that, I'd say they did a damn good job.Tanooki Kuribo wrote:Cons: The only thing Iam (kinda) disapointed about was how bootleg the menu's look. They could have done them way way better, its not bad but you notice these things when you paid like 300 - 400$ for them. Also I was hoping for some crazy ass off the wall extra's like when the Dragonbox for Dragonball was released they got those two movies about Goku being a firefighter and another one about Goku and the police (not sure about the details but thats it in a nutshell). So thats that.

Hey, anyone notice (for those who have the Dragonbox) they also included the DVD cover for the single disc of the Dragonball series for VOL 49? Does anyone know why? You think its going to be a special disc full of extras? I can't read Japanese so... anyone?
See... looks like a normal piece of paper...

Then you put it inside a DVD case and BAM! It fits complete with cover art, side bar and back. The side bar reads somthing along the lines of TV series Vol.49.

Actually, I have a solution to your shrinking photo's problem, as I encountered the same problem with photobucket myself a few years back. If you save the files as .jpg you wont have the problem, and they will remain the same size.If I could have put bigger shots up I would. They only allow a certain number of space on photobucket (where the photos are being hosted) so when I uploaded them they all shrank.
There is no better combination in the world than Dragonball, Cherry Pepsi, and Cheez-Its. It's a proven fact.

1. Dragonball Z single discs come in Super Jewel cases, nor ordinary Amaray cases.
2. The Artwork between this and the Dragonball singles are HUGELY different. THis is an older piece or done by someone else. The covers for the Dragonball Z discs are very defined, very clean and very new.
3. The side basically says the following "TV, release, 49 volumes".
4. The spine is also completely different
5. The people on the front- Vegeta in his Freeza saga armour, 4th form freeza, since when do they appear in the final six episodes?
Please, seriously, use some common sense. It's a nifty bit of advertising and an order form, that's all.
Hujio tossed some bigger screenshots from movie 13 up on Kanzentai earlier this morning. Very sexy!Saiyan wrote:Oh, and Tanooki, would there any chance that you can get bigger screenshots?

Well, I can't find anyone to host the files. I forgot my password to Putfile.com and they said they were gonna e-mail me my password (like 4 times) and never did. So instead here is some zoom in shots. I wanted to put a shot up where there was flowing lights because thats usually when you can really see the flaws of a DVD.Also I'll put up an audio sample somtime tonight. (10pm - 11pm).
Now when you watch the FUNimation disc you won't notice the lines across the screen or the boxes untill you pause it. I paused it like three times and this was the best shot.

Also, the begining of this disc has a little animation of Cooler being blasted, it brings you to the main menu.

Those pictures make me want to burn my FUNi discs. I didn't realize the whole "line" problem until you pointed it out and it looks even worse on a full screen tv. The DragonBox just seems more valuable as the comparisons continue.

Anyway didn't really have the time to watch yet but I will this weekend.
Although I might watch one movie before going to sleep.

Murr...as if I wasn't jealouse enough; now the DragonBox movies have new original animations too? If it wasn't for Daimaô's translations and having the full 4:3 screen size I'd say that Funimation's releases were all but garbage.
Do any of the other movies contain new animation as well, even just interactive DVD menus and what-not?

Whoa now, there isnt any new animation in the movies. I pointed out that I wasn't sure if those scenes shown above (that were in the trailer) were in the actuall movie. Also, for that Cooler blast shot, in the begining of all the DVD's theres a little animation of Goku or somthing, but to call it animation would be wrong. Its like still pictures being moved around with light FX or cut outs of people and there moving (like flash animation).

Hmm, ok as long as you know what it is, it's cool. Speaking of all this original animation I really really really wanna make a post of nothing but original animation shots from the trailers, is it against the rules or looked down on if I were to post like 20 images? Cause I know people get mad when they stretch out the screen of the forum plus images take up space (or as to my understanding).
