I was gonna ask that. It's actually more correct than Kakarotto.

Shouldn't FUNi have ended up with "Vegot"? :P
That would have been fun: all the homophobic fanboys out there that dislike DB/Z/GT because it "SuX0rS" or is "s00 000011d" would run around calling Dragonball fans "Vegots" instead of fags.

"What are you, some kind of Vegot or something?"
"Those who insult dragonball fans usually turn out to be DB fans themselves you know."
"SHUT UP YOU VEGOT! I'M A PURE INU-YASHA LOVER! I LIVE, BREATHE AND FUCK INU-YASHA! NOBODY WANTS TO SLEEP WITH THAT HALF-DEMON MORE THAN ME!"

EDIT: Whoa. 4 posts added before mine posted. Guess I should have quoted so you know what I'm talking about. (The whole how FUNi ended up with "Vegito" thing)

God, I would have so much fun with that. BTW, like Jersey-sama said, check your PMs.

Because VegEX is a Vegot! :D

Isn't Kakarrot a butcher in itself? :?

Well, that's hardly butchering. And I thought that they did spell it with that extra "r" anyway.

I'm waiting for someone to insist that it should be spelt "KaCarrot", personally.

I do remember someone (Chris Sabat) being asked what they were going to call the fused Vegeta/Goku character, since they weren't putting the "o" at the end of Kakarrot. I can't remember what his answer was.

But, surely that means that the original "Vegetto" is wrong anyway. Unless it was "Kakarretto", in Japanese.

Was there ever an explanation as to why Goku's Saiyan name was used for the fusion, rather than it being "Vegeku" (or "Gogeta", duh) instead?

Because Vegetto in terms of appearance and attitude took more after Vegeta than Goku. I guess Vegeta just has a strong sense of saiyan patriotism then.

Also, why was Veku called what he was instead of "fat Gogeta" (along the same sense as why isn't regular Gogeta called Veku?)

Vegetto was also more arrogant like Vegita. Whereas, Gogeta wasn't, and didn't show off, but just quickly dispatched of Janemba. Of course, that could also have been due to the fact that the movie needed to end in three minutes.

Well, it's hardly as if Goku himself is known for quickly and efficiently finishing off bad guys. Only Trunks has that honour.

Also, where did the whole "the person whose name goes first is dominant in the fusion" theory come from? Cause Gotenks seems more like Trunks than Goten, if anything.

That's true. I think that "Gotenks" probably just sounded better than "Trunten" or "Troten". :)

Or "Trunken".

Hmm. There does actually seem to be a pattern on the original two fused characters' names. Stick the last two letters of one name on the entire (or almost entire) other name. It would work better with "Vegetato", or maybe "Goteks". But it's close enough.

"Gogeta" throws that out the window though. Damnit.

Well, Gogeta was also in GT. :P And movies 12 and 13 could fit into the storyline, taking place after Kid Buu was killed.

And if you bring up the sword, I will practice my slow and painful killing method on you.

Yesssssss, that sword! The sword disqualifies it! (I'll be eagerly awaiting your assination attempt B-kun.) And GT doesn't count either since the series in one big plothole and you know it!

I know it, but I still consider it anime canon. Like I said before, that counters itself enough times.

Seriously, guys, I didn't even THINK the sword was Future Trunks's until fanboys pitched a fit. It's nearly ridiculous.

And no bitching about the sword or I'll sic my EX plushie on you.

Uh...what about the fact that Goku and Vegeta are both dead after the Boo saga? :? Sorry, disagree with movie 12 being in real time 100%.

Also, why did Bulma have a time machine in movie 13? In case she didn't realise, in that timeline the androids were dead. :P

PS: I too agree with the sword thing. So BRING IT ON!!!
