Mike Sinterniklaas as Buu (Spike Spencer would be somewhat higher). I may have posted earlier, but we're discussing this here if anyone's interested: http://www.behindthevoiceactors.com/for ... hp?t=19167SaintEvolution wrote:Well, so, for the cast of the Bang Zoom dub, we already probably have:

How do you know it's Sinterniklaas playing Buu?

Bang Zoom are dubbing Mob Psycho for FUNi... So weird. Makes this whole situation even more odd and interesting.

Also, probably Lex Lang will voice Black Goku too.
So, the cast until now is:
Goku - Lex Lang
Black Goku - Lex Lang possibly
Mr. Satan - Jamieson Price
Buu - Michael Sinterniklaas

Re: Bang Zoom Dragon Ball Super Dub
A lot of folks' assumption is that CR had already paid for MP100 prior to FUNiRoll. Beyond that, BZ is just a studio. Theoretically, FUNi could use them for a few LA folks with smaller parts in their own dub. They are two different companies/contracts/productions, not impossible to work for competing companies. It's a job.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:Bang Zoom are dubbing Mob Psycho for FUNi... So weird. Makes this whole situation even more odd and interesting.
It's NCZ's guess, but I can certainly see it. AuraOfAzure guessed Spike Spencer, but this seems to be really high-pitched/strenuous, & frankly, Spike could hit those notes easier. Mike's voice deeper than either Spike or Bryce Papenbrook (another possible contender). Maybe I could pinpoint this easier if I heard Mike's higher notes, maybe as some cutesy Pokemon character.8000 Saiyan wrote:How do you know it's Sinterniklaas playing Buu?
Never even seen Super but I'm pretty sure this wasnt even a question. My guess for Piccolo is Richard Epcar as it hits all the notes of Sabat's performance, & my hunch is that they're going for FUNi-alikes. Sabat has taken over for Jigen & Batou, so it's possible that's a reference. Sonny Strait has done Tony Oliver's Lupin, & so I think Tony Oliver will do Kuririn in this dub. My hope for Future Trunks is Ben Diskin though.SaintEvolution wrote:Goku - Lex Lang

I seriously expected better from Bang Zoom. I mean, casting Lex Lang (a great actor) as Goku? Doing their own takes would have been more interesting.

Lex Lang voicing Goku is cool. This would be his first Dragon Ball role in nearly 20 years.

So I think they actually showed episode 1 already. I hope someone recorded it.

Re: Bang Zoom Dragon Ball Super Dub
Well the sneak peek for presumably Episode 1 was today. For what it's worth, I couldn't find anyone in Asia with access to that channel and recording software. Won't lie, there's a real good chance this dub may never be seen outside of Asia.OmegaRockman wrote:So I think they actually showed episode 1 already. I hope someone recorded it.

Edit: Apparently Toonami Asia doesn't know when or if the sneak peek will be re-aired. Does that mean the official premiere will be Episode 2 or did the sneak peek feature a different episode instead of Episode 1?

They probably just mean that they're unsure if they'll reair episode 1 again before January.jelleline89 wrote:Well the sneak peek for presumably Episode 1 was today. So does anybody on here actually have access to Toonami Asia, just out of curiosity?
Was the hate for Kai largely unjustified?
Super Saiyan Prime wrote:It's an edited, cynically produced, cheap recut with a poorly utilized ancient score and awful scene recreations that later got traded in for a weird green tint.
The story of Kai's production is far more interesting than the actual product.

This, this so much.
Hopefully someone records this dub in case it never reruns and fades into obscurity.
Do you have any info about international non-English broadcasts about the Dragon Ball anime or manga translations/editions? Please message me. Researching for a future book with Dragon Ball scholar Derek Padula

Re: Bang Zoom Dragon Ball Super Dub
My family are going to down to visit relatives in India in Feb for a few weeks... I was gonna get them to record the audio but apparently the first episode sneak peak didn't air in India so I'm worried that means they full show might not too.Dragon Ball Ireland wrote:^Arian wrote:So does anybody on here actually have access to Toonami Asia, just out of curiosity?

So many ignorant people out there. Too many haters. First of all, nobody is doing any impressions of other actors. We are all friends. Because of some f'd up contracts, the original cast was unable to do the Asia and Europe version of this show. Sean Schemmel happens to be a personal friend of mine, and we talked about it before this got started. He will always be Goku in my book, but he was unable to do this version, so they cast with english speakers from the USA, (instead of just english speakers from Asia, like they normally do). So my advice to any hardcore DB fans out there: allow for this version to be what it will be. There are a lot of seasoned professionals bringing their talents to this project. And although it won't be the voices you are used to, it will be an ongoing effort to make a great show. So here's to an exciting version of this show!sangofe wrote:huzaifa_ahmed wrote:It does, in fact, amusingly seem to be Lex Lang (Gohan from the Final Bout dub, actually), whom many of us were discussing just a moment ago, lol. I cannot believe it, it's his Kenshiro/Goemon voice doing a Schemmel impression (or a Nozawa impression, which comes with the matter of dubbing overall). This is insane & I cannot believe it exists.Chuquita wrote:

Those kiai were a nice touch in the scene, but I dunno how well they'll work in an actual fight. It just sounds like they're impersonating Sean Schemmel, though. -sigh-rs_chaosmaster wrote:Very dissatisfied by this trying to copy Funimation is the wrong move Erik Kimmerer would have been a way better choice for Goku. They made a very poor decision trying to match Funis Dub when funimation has been doing Dragonball since 98. This might end up being Bang Zooms worst Dub I'm curious to see more but very disappointed.
....that Goten sounds good though.

I will dare to assume you are Mr Lex Lang himself. I have to say that I apologize for any rude things said by us the people in this thread. We arent a bad bunch, we just get too heated sometimes. I hope you understand.

Why am I quoted here? I didn't write any of this. Edit: most of us, if anyone, will be able to watch the Bang Zoom dub, unfortunately...

Wow, Lex Lang is on Kanzenshuu.
Mr. Lang, I don't mean to offend you as I am a big fan of your work, but from the dub promos, it just sounds like you're doing a Schemmel impression and I don't think you're the best choice for Goku. I could say the same for the actor who plays Majin Buu. I expected better from Bang Zoom (one of my favorite dubbing studios along with Ocean). Can you promise us that this dub is going to be a good one?LexVO wrote:So many ignorant people out there. Too many haters. First of all, nobody is doing any impressions of other actors.
