How far away are we from a "proper Hollywood treatment"?

Discussion regarding the entirety of the franchise in a general (meta) sense, including such aspects as: production, trends, merchandise, fan culture, and more.

A live-action DB TV show wouldn't work IMO. Something like Dragon Ball needs a budget. I don't want the CGI in a live-action Dragon Ball adaptation to look fake. I'd like WETA Digital to do the special effects. Look at the special effects. They look so convincing and real. To make the actor who plays Krillin small, all they need to do is forced perspective.

They'd have to get rid of the haircuts and spend a lot of money on it. A animation would be way, way more fair and plausable. I'd like a history on the same vain as Man of Steel.

You don't need Hollywood for an Animation.

I dont see anything wrong with a Serial Show, a nice budget, and an episode per month cycle. The major point would be to have a goal in the beginning, and not fall for the invent-as-you-go-with-seasons what Hollywood does at the moment (obviously, you cant just season the shit out of DB and deviate).
I think it would be huge and would set raise the benchmarks.

I dont care who would cgi or who the actors would be, the director needs to lay down and say, this is the sick ass story (DB), those are the ill looking parallels (guardians of the galaxy ffs as a reference and many many more), let's just fucking do it, we have 3 years frame of showing the thing, YES those hair styles look cool on the anime, ridiculous on you Jim Carrey.

EDIT: i take that back, nothing would look ridiculous on Jim Carrey.
I bet the show would brag about too many white aliens (which is true), so having Dave Chappelle as Tien would crack me up on every episode, but hey, this is just my vivid imagination.
